It was, literally, something out of a nightmare.
It was a suit of armor that Lex had found in the vehicle bays, that had his name on it. In fact, it had the LexCorp logo plastered all over it.
Its very existence offended him, on a number of levels. Which was why that suit was on a large concrete slab, and Lex was holding a blowtorch. There were also a number of other tools scattered about his feet.
He was going to tear that thing apart, and see if he could make something useful out of it.

The armor caught her eye as she walked around the front of her ship. Repairing or disassembling, the mechanic couldn't really resist the opportunity to get to know someone else's tech better.
She walked over, wiping her hands off on a rag and eying the armor, and smiled at Lex. "Mind if I watch?"

Lex looked at Kaylee for a second, then lowered the protective goggles over his eyes.
"Now where's the fun in that?"
no subject
"Alright then, would you mind a helper?"

"How good are you with a laser cutter?"

"Do you want some help taking it apart?" God knew they could use the scrap.
no subject
"I could use a hand getting rid of it."
The sooner this monstrosity was gone, the better.

She shifted around and nodded. "Take off the limbs first, most likely. Easier to take them apart in little pieces."

"It's good for that much, at least. But little else."
no subject
"Could be useful. Are you dismantling it? Cause I'll take it if you don't want it."

And when she saw Lex... well, she just folded her arms and watched for a moment. While she thought about what to do, snark or leave.

It didn't help those were Kang the Conqueror colors."So just where did this idea come from?" She asked loudly, so he could hear her.

Several moments later, a smoke... dragon -- also purple -- zips by in the same direction, corkscrewing through the air. It loops back around, arcing into a dive and puffing out of existence as it collides with the armor he is in the process of dismembering. An odd, round-ish bat with disproportionate wings follows it in its demise, as does a deformed onion, a broomstick, and a fish, all made of smoke, all purple, and all coming from someone or something that is always just out of his line of sight.
Until Luna stops playing games, and peers over his shoulder very obviously, head tilted.
"Why are you taking it apart?"
no subject
"Aren't you a little young to be smoking?"
no subject
"Oh! Well, that would explain it, wouldn't it?" It's unclear whether she's talking to herself or if she means this to be conclusive evidence as to his... something. Maybe it has something to do with the armor.

"Ye could always throw it out through the airlock and save yourself the trouble, ye know."
no subject
"That would be a waste of valuable parts."

He hesitates, then shrugs. Might as well offer to help. "Look, since I'm here, did ye need me to hand ye anything?"

When she found a man destroying a metal suit, not even it's curious construction could stop her from wincing at the design. It may be...practical...but it lacked beauty.
But rather than intruding, Daja just stood to one side, leaning on her staff, and watching politely from a distance.
[[ooc: I should note: Daja has the ability to sense metals. So, if there's any unusual metals or whatnot in the suit, she'd be able to pick it up]]

Exactly what it was made of was anyone's guess, though. Forged in the fires of the hellish planet Apokolips, it was built to last. Which, of course, made it a pain to take apart, but by now Lex had made a good deal of headway.
If Lex was aware of Daja's presence, he didn't do anything to openly acknowledge it, continuing to dismantle this abomination.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but...may I ask if you are intending to reuse the materials?"

But even she wandered sometimes, under the guise or truth of curiosity. That, or she was scouting vehicles to dismantle and harvest for parts. Engineering had been more and more stingy of late— bastards. Of course that didn't quite explain the corporate autopsy Lex seemed to be perpetrating.
"Having fun?" She asked, archly, and cocked a hip to watch him as he worked.

Right now, though, Lex was mostly inside the chassis, dismantling the core of the machine.
"Something like that."

Now she examined the debris with a critical eye, reconstruction running in red and green behind her eyes. The suit's original form was...less than optimum, and seeing it gutted gave even more insight into how painfully simple it would be to outclass or out maneuver such a thing. Motoko folded her arms.
"That's just pathetic."
