Vehicles and Half Spider Half Monkey Aliens [Open]
We missed the point of living, so caught up in this moment
We took out all convictions, and traded them for substance o/`
Ben was humming as he was working on his car with the MP3 player blaring. Granted he wasn't exactly the best mechanic but he had assisted Kevin enough times to work on a few things once in a while. Besides, it was HIS new car, and driving around always cheered him up.
Having gone down to the vehicle bay had proven fruitful, as both Kevin and his new car was there. Even Grandpa Max's Rustbucket was there and a big green ship which he was damn certain was his, considering, well, it was GREEN. He was half expecting to find Kevin or Grandpa Max tinkering with something in the immediate vicinity. He had scrounged up some things, and even found some of his old clothes in the RV. As such, he had changed out of his plantsuit and was wearing a pair of slightly too tight jeans and one of his lucky shirts from his kid days, now way too small on his frame but he didn't want to get his regular clothing grease and oil stained.
"There we go," said Ben, slamming the hood and keying the engine. It roared to life and a multitude of alien tech lit up in his car. "Now THIS is more like it!"
Shutting it off, he looked up at the ship and examined it. "Sure would like to check out that engine. ...why not?"
Twisting the dial of his Ultimatrix, Ben shifted in a burst of green light. "Spidermonkey! Ook ook!"
Bouncing up to the roof of the Rustbucket, he bounced upwards to the bottom of the ship and started to prod around for a hidden latch. "Kevin always leaves a latch here... Got it!"
The back opened up and he grinned. "Time to check this sucker out!"
The half spider, half monkey alien dashed around to the back and clambered up the large ramp. It was quite a large ship, no bigger than say a Millennium Falcon but it was definitely HIS.
Ben was going to like this.

"...wouldn't want that pretty face of yours to get hurt, after all."

He too was grinning at Nura, as he looked at the large ship he stood at the entrance of. "To think Kevin kept all of this under wraps."

Then she lands and sashays over to the tool boxes, picking out the white-and-black-streaked helmet that Ben had obviously tossed aside from where it had laid at the bottom of the haphazard pile. "I'm not cleaning any blood off of the floor if it was spilled out of lack of foresight."
2/2 oops!

He chuckled and shook his head. "I'm surprised though that there's so many vehicles from home here."

"...I would certainly not object to you taking one out 'for a spin'."

Gallant? A little. At least he wasn't being insufferable.

"Well aren't you a gentleman," she coolly says, slinking over slowly to the passenger seat. Tilting her head a little, white hair sliding off of her shoulders, she smiles, eye low-lidded with a suggestive air. She takes his chin into her palm and brings her face breaths close. "As you say, Sir Lance," she smoothly quips with a jutted hip.
The back of her hand brushes Ben's cheek as she climbs in and seats herself.

He shifted into gear and headed out, pulling up the ramp towards the city.

Nura is as happy as a kitten with a ball of yarn. She rolls down the window and lets the cool breeze hit her face, blowing her long hair over her shoulders and wafting wildly. This gets irritating after fifty-seven seconds, so she gathers up her hair and tosses it to the right, practically out the window, so that it is of her face.
"Now this is my definition of 'fine'."

He turned the corner, slowing to make sure no one was crossing and sped up, headed for the longer stretches of road where he could open up the throttle.
no subject
"I do the same thing when I'm a Downer Girl. Only with dancing and flying instead of driving." She idly twirls a lock of hair around her finger. She has her head tilted thoughtfully, although she isn't saying much to start a heated conversation over.

Turning the corner, he kicked up the throttle and peeled down the road.

She reaches down towards the dials to the MP3 player and turns up the volume a little, then sits back, and lets the lyrics and the beat wash over her.
"Is there a speed limit for how fast this vehicle can go?" Her eyes glint mischievously.

Tabbing a few switches, nitro was fed into the line and the car shot off like a rocket, screaming down the long highway that stretched across the city. 210. 220. 230. 240. The dial kept creeping higher.
"Pretty fast I figure!" yelled Ben over the howl of the wind.

Her hair is whipping around madly like snakes on Medusa's head...without the Medusa and snakes, that is. She's laughing in her brimming, joyous laughter, one hand gripping the side of the car door, the other holding onto the edge of her seat, her eyes large and enthralled.
no subject
"Highway turn off in twenty minutes," reported the car in Ben's voice and he reluctantly downshifted a little.
"Don't want to run off the road," he said, roaring around a large graceful turn.
no subject
"Grindwump!" she mock-whines anyways, grin broadening a couple molars as the car continues to peel down the road at high speeds (but not as high as they had been a few secons ago.)
no subject
All too soon, the car shifted down to a much slower pace as he took the turn off and swung back onto the roads. "At least we know it's really fast," offered Ben.
sorry. lj hates me.
"Mmm, really?" She turns her head towards him, head tilted, long hair swaying slightly in the breeze coming from outside. "Classic road trip antics, or did you run into the Big Baddies like you told me about before?"
She giggles lightly. "That's true."
Re: sorry. lj hates me.
"Kinda miss those, but that's the past."

"When I first met him, he was an angry kid, had run away from his mom. His dad's a plumber, or was anyhow, and he was trying to make it on his own. He had this ability to siphon energy from anything, and he got a taste of the energy coming from the watch. Too much though was taken the next time, and it turned him into an alien freak, which he blamed me for. He managed to regain his humanity, and since then, has only absorbed metals and stuff to make body armor."
(ooc: replies might be slow. I woke up with sore hands)

He thumped the side of the ship and added, "You come to check out the vehicles here?"

Shutting off the engine and pocketing the keys, he shrugged as he turned off his player. "Basically it's enough that I've got a holographic version of my friends."
