Up in the air

He had his office hours, but right now, there was a new constitution. It was good, something he helped bring about. Maybe things will finally settle into order and resolve. People coming together.

Nathan walked into the city where repairs and rubble was being cleared. But there was still a great deal of work to do. He walked part ways in, before shooting up overhead. There was plenty of room to fly over it all, survey the current state.

He also wanted to try to push his ability, let go and really see what he can do with it.

As he shot into the air, there was the familiar sonic boom as he streaked along, leaving a vapor trail.

From the top of the tallest building, Celena looked up from what she had been doing as the sonic boom echoed through. She'd slowly been converting a section which had been damaged at the top of the tower into a more suitable living space for one such as herself. Padding to the edge of the building she searched for the source of the sonic boom, sharp eyes quickly picking out the figure shooting over the city.

Holding her wings ready she dove off the building, using the fall to pick up speed before flaring her wings and shooting back up over the building tops, arching in the direction of flight of the other currently in flight.

Reaching out with her mind to greet the other telepathically, -Would you mind some company in flight?-

Luckily Nathan's gotten used to telepaths. Even though there were a curious blank spot for some of it. But he also remembered it from Parkman back home.

He nodded, and zoomed closer before his eyes widened.

"Uh sure, go ahead," he said out aloud.

Celena picked up her pace and drew up beside him as he drew closer in flight, giving a nod in return. A glance back to the human, not one she had yet met. She was curious though as to the manner of his own flight, another mutant of kinds?

"Thank you and greetings, I don't believe we've met, Celena is my name," She replied in ways of introductions.

Sort of like the other mutants only his world never got around to bothering with costumes and secret identities.

"Recent to wake up right? I'm Nathan Petrelli, one of the lieutenants with the Command Staff here."

"I awoke during the last pod release, a pleasure to meet you then, Nathan Petrelli, it is good to finally meet one of the command staff,"

Casting her gaze across the city below them before looking back to the human flying beside her, noting the manner of his flight, "Hmm, your flight is different to the other I've met, curious,"

"Only way I know how, and how do you mean? I know some don't do supersonic flights."

"The other I've met, Sofia, utilized an ability to control the wind itself for her flight," Celena arched around a taller building before nodding in reply, "Indeed such a speed is hard to obtain without the right means.

"Yeah? I'm still trying to figure how mine works. It just does." Very likely his was also air related, but he really wasn't certain.

Still figuring it out hmm? You've got the dragon's attention there, "Really now? Perhaps, if you wish, I could aid you in figuring such a thing out," She offered with a smile.

"Well, not like these things came with a manual." Small chuckle before his face became serious again.

"Yeah, how's that?"

"Quite true," She replied with a chuckle.

"I have much experience when it comes to what humans might consider, 'unnatural' or 'magic', and a particular interest in the workings of such things,"

"And what about inherited abilities? I mean I only had this for a few years now."

Nathan added, "But whatever it is, me and others from my world. We were born... different."

Celena nodded thoughtfully at that, "I am not unfamiliar with such things, not so much in humans but perhaps it could be similarly applied,"

"Hmm, not unlike Sofia from what I gather then. I should at the least determine something of the manner of your flight,"

Nathan considered her words before explaining what little he had determined so far, "I know I can fly at supersonic speeds. Even found I can use to hurl something at fast speeds as well. Sound can still travel easily to me, and I've been able to fly at extreme temperatures."

Celena took in the information Nathan gave, nodding thoughtfully, "Hmm...how quickly can you accelerate to such speeds or to slow from such a speed? Does the acceleration seem to have much if any effect on you when you do so?" She asked with interest, noting the information he had already given mentally.

"Pretty quick," He then demonstrated by shooting off to the side, leaving a vapor trail. Resembling a human-shaped jet plane as he took off.

Celena blinked and watched on with great interest at the sheer speed at which he changed direction and accelerated, drawing energy to her true sight to view his flight in terms of energy and the wake of air he left in his trail.

-Impressive-

He could turn at high speeds and loop around easily. Nathan circled around, and came closer to the dragon to hover again, decelerating just as easily as he accelerated before.

Superman looked over the rubble that littered the city. He still had no idea how it ended up like this, but it didn't matter - it still needed to be cleaned up somehow.

Hearing the sonic boom, he looked up to notice the figure's vapor trail.

Another flyer. Interesting. Superman thought. He wished the artificial sun here could give him a lot more power here, but beggars can't be choosers. With that, the Man of Steel took off into the air, not as fast as Nathan, but enough to at least try to keep up.

Nathan turned in the air, recognizing the red streak. Relations with the last Superman were decidedly a bit strained due to circumstances. Hopefully these would be better as he came around, hovering in the air.

"Good day."

"And a good day to you, sir!" Superman replied, a warm smile on his face. "Nice time for a flight, isn't it?"

True, Superman didn't know about what had happened between the last him and Nathan, but hopefully, things would be a lot better.

"Good time a time as any," Nathan remarked, and seeing as no recognition, just cemented that this one was different.

"I'm Nathan Petrelli, one of the lieutenants on Command Staff here."
