Newfound treasure [Open]
Ground vehicles were not Samus' specialty.
Yet, somehow she had ended up surrounded by them. She had wandered out of the hangar after doing a bit of ship maintenance and ended up in between rows and rows and rows of two-wheeled, four-wheeled, whatever-wheeled vehicles. Some where fancy. Some were incredibly strange. Some even matched those she would find in her own universe, but she ignored all of them.
Except for a gem she found. Well, it wasn't really a gem. It was actually pretty low-tech compared to everything else she could find. But there was a certain... charm to this one. This plain old 21st motorcycle caught her eye. She couldn't really explain it. Once she saw it though, she had to try it out. The key was in the ignition. Her foot was on the kick start. She just had to go.

Lots of vehicles here. I wonder if my Machine Decader is stored in here, too?
He turned a corner, wondering where would be a good starting point for looking...when he saw his cycle. With a blond-haired woman looking like she was getting ready to go for a ride.
"Mind if I ask just what you're doing with my bike?" He said, no introduction whatsoever.

Noticing Samus on the motorcycle, though, caught his attention. He wasn't one to utterly show off, but at the same time, he couldn't help it... and he raced after the bounty hunter, "skating" right beside her.
"Nice bike. Yours?" Shadow asked.

He does have a healthy respect for the other machines he's found in there, and so he's taken to assembling and disassembling other motorcycles along the line, just seeing how they're put together and performing routine maintenance. Couldn't let them just sit cold, after all. What if someone needed one, and it spluttered out due to inattention?
He's on his way down, borrowed tools in a toolbox, when he spots Samus sitting pretty on one of the bikes he hasn't gotten to yet. He whistles lightly, to catch her attention, and waves a hand in greeting. "Hey." As he steps closer, he examines the motorcycle. Giving Samus a once-over seems almost like an afterthought. "It looks like that one suits you rather well."
no subject
"Oh," She looked down at the bike, his bike. Hm. This would be troublesome. She swung her leg over and stood next to it, "Sorry, didn't realize this belonged to someone."
Or at least someone who was awake and out of the pods.
no subject
"Not yet. Don't think anyone's claimed it," the bike was fairly loud, she spoke over it as best she could, "But I'm mostly just test driving it."
no subject
no subject
"You ride?" He asked turning his head to Samus.
no subject
"Seems like there's a lot of vehicles here that haven't been claimed... or probably will never be claimed." Shadow said. "I'm tempted to get one myself. Just to have."
Yeah, Samus, don't question the logic of someone who can keep up with you on foot having a motorcycle. There's a lot worse.

"Doesn't seem like you'd need one," she said. "Pretty quick already."

"If you want, we can have a race." He put on a salesman's smile. Like a normal motorcycle can even touch my Machine's speed.
no subject
"Enjoy the old classics, huh?"
no subject
"Miss Aran." Chris being a tad uncomfortable as to how to address her.
no subject
She shrugged, "I haven't ridden in a long time, not sure it'd be a fair raise but sure. Why not?"
no subject
"Could never get something like this back in my own universe. Sort of a shame."
no subject
She looked up from her bike, giving the speaker a look over and a nod. She had met him before, though wasn't sure on the name, "Chris, correct?"

He mounted the Machine Decader and put his helmet on, reveling in the feeling of being on his cycle again. After all, Kamen Riders and motorcycles...they just go together, right?
He started it and, over the din of the engine, said, "Ready whenever you are, Ms...?"
no subject
"Aran. Samus is fine," she said swinging her leg over the bike and starting the engine. "And you Mr...?"
no subject
...Really? Partial Catchphrase?

He bends over and picks up the toolbox. "I'll leave you to it, then. Have a good time."
no subject
And she got back to work.

He throttled back a little, and as he slowed down, he called over his shoulder, "So, when did you learn to ride?"
no subject
A flash of something light between the rows of vehicles caught his eye. That blond hair, the even stance -- looked like the commander. Might as well go say hi and see what's up.
"Hey, Shepard," he greeted. He looked curiously towards the vehicle she was sitting on. He'd never seen a vehicle quite like that; motorcycles weren't exactly common on the Citadel or Palaven. "What is that?"
no subject
When that assured her they were the only two present, she looked over her shoulder to the source of the voice with a confused, "Hmn?"
She definitely didn't know him. Why was he calling her Shepard?
no subject
"Sorry, I thought you were someone else," he said sheepishly, gesturing towards her head. "Same hair color." If turians could blush, he'd be a little red right now. Normally he was better about recognizing humans, even from behind, but he didn't know many humans who were blond.
"So, uh. What is that, if you don't mind me asking," he continued on, turning towards the bike. "I've never seen anything like it before."
no subject
"Two wheeled ground vehicle," She absentmindedly patted it on the handlebars, This one's a little archaic, but it works."
no subject
He mentally shrugged and took a closer look at the motorcycle. The exposed metal gleamed dully in the light of the vehicle bay, drawing his attention to the partially-exposed parts. Did that serve a purpose, or was it an aesthetic choice? he wondered.
After a moment he stepped back to give her some room and gestured for her to continue. He didn't want to keep her from her ride, and besides, he wanted to see this thing in action.
no subject
"Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams. I'm one of the... I guess you could say new arrivals."

She sped up a bit, riding around a few more times before slowing and eventually stopping in the same spot she had taken before. She looked over to Garrus, cocking her head slightly as to ask him 'Well? How was that?'

He deftly dodged some minor vehicles, pulling off some minor motorcycle tricks.
no subject
"Do you need any help with the motorcycle?" He offered freely. "It looks similar to the kind I used to ride back home."

"It doesn't matter much what I think," And what she thought, as much as she really didn't want to admit it, probably wasn't that different from the Chief's. "We're stuck without any other options other than what Stacy gives us. It's far from an ideal situation, but we need to fight."
Samus just lived everyday on the meatship making sure everyone she did whatever she could to protect everyone else. Even if all she could do for them was shoot.
