Newfound treasure [Open]

Ground vehicles were not Samus' specialty.

Yet, somehow she had ended up surrounded by them. She had wandered out of the hangar after doing a bit of ship maintenance and ended up in between rows and rows and rows of two-wheeled, four-wheeled, whatever-wheeled vehicles. Some where fancy. Some were incredibly strange. Some even matched those she would find in her own universe, but she ignored all of them.

Except for a gem she found. Well, it wasn't really a gem. It was actually pretty low-tech compared to everything else she could find. But there was a certain... charm to this one. This plain old 21st motorcycle caught her eye. She couldn't really explain it. Once she saw it though, she had to try it out. The key was in the ignition. Her foot was on the kick start. She just had to go.

Tsukasa walked into the vehicle bay. This was one of the last main open areas he hadn't seen yet, so he felt it behooved him to see what it contained.

Lots of vehicles here. I wonder if my Machine Decader is stored in here, too?

He turned a corner, wondering where would be a good starting point for looking...when he saw his cycle. With a blond-haired woman looking like she was getting ready to go for a ride.

"Mind if I ask just what you're doing with my bike?" He said, no introduction whatsoever.

Why was Shadow back in the hangars? Pretty much just wandering around. There probably wasn't anything in here from his world that really stood out, so it was more or less just "Ooh, what's that?"

Noticing Samus on the motorcycle, though, caught his attention. He wasn't one to utterly show off, but at the same time, he couldn't help it... and he raced after the bounty hunter, "skating" right beside her.

"Nice bike. Yours?" Shadow asked.

Kazami spends a lot of time in the hangar bays, actually. He's borrowed a few tools from Engineering, does it nearly daily in fact, and he spends a lot of his free time working on his motorcycle. Tuning it, testing the sound of the engine, taking it apart and then fixing it again. It runs perfectly, but it's habit by now.

He does have a healthy respect for the other machines he's found in there, and so he's taken to assembling and disassembling other motorcycles along the line, just seeing how they're put together and performing routine maintenance. Couldn't let them just sit cold, after all. What if someone needed one, and it spluttered out due to inattention?

He's on his way down, borrowed tools in a toolbox, when he spots Samus sitting pretty on one of the bikes he hasn't gotten to yet. He whistles lightly, to catch her attention, and waves a hand in greeting. "Hey." As he steps closer, he examines the motorcycle. Giving Samus a once-over seems almost like an afterthought. "It looks like that one suits you rather well."

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-04-08 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
He shrugged. "It's okay. It is an impressive machine." He ran his hand along the handlebars.

"You ride?" He asked turning his head to Samus.

For someone who hasn't ridden a motorcycle in quite awhile, Samus is really impressing Shadow.

"Seems like there's a lot of vehicles here that haven't been claimed... or probably will never be claimed." Shadow said. "I'm tempted to get one myself. Just to have."

Yeah, Samus, don't question the logic of someone who can keep up with you on foot having a motorcycle. There's a lot worse.

[identity profile] twin-fans.livejournal.com 2010-04-08 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
He nods, ambling over and setting his box of borrowed tools down. "I do. It looks a bit more powerful than the ones I'm used to from my time, but..." He laughs and gestures at her. Samus has nearly half a foot on him. The explanation should be obvious. "You can probably handle it."

"Well, there's what looks like a GasGas-made bike other there." Tsukasa pointed at an overly-normal motorcycle in an out-of-the way spot near where he had arrived.

"If you want, we can have a race." He put on a salesman's smile. Like a normal motorcycle can even touch my Machine's speed.

Like Samus, Ashley wasn't searching for anything in particular. She was just seeing if she could get the feel of the ship and so far it felt more... alien than anything she had ever dealt with. Inluding the Reapers and the Geth. Spying Samus as walked through the vehicle bay, she had hoped to find something resembling the Mako as she stared past Samus. Giving a small wave to other woman, she gave a nod.

"Enjoy the old classics, huh?"

After doing his daily rounds he had discovered that he should maybe check new areas of the ship that he had never been in. So this left the somewhat bored Kamen Rider to venture into the vehicle bay. Chris had hoped with the time remaining, he could find his motorcycle. It wasn't a terrible loss if it was no longer available but... He'd still try to find it. Spying Samus, he gave a small greeting. He knew he'd only met Samus Aran once, and guessed that in her world she was military or former military.

"Miss Aran." Chris being a tad uncomfortable as to how to address her.

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-04-10 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Tsukasa chuckled and said, "It shouldn't be that much of a problem; I seldom race on this anyway."

He mounted the Machine Decader and put his helmet on, reveling in the feeling of being on his cycle again. After all, Kamen Riders and motorcycles...they just go together, right?

He started it and, over the din of the engine, said, "Ready whenever you are, Ms...?"

"Kadoya. Tsukasa Kadoya." He signaled a start to the race, and he tore out at 128 kph. As the distance increased, he yelled back, "Remember that!"

...Really? Partial Catchphrase?

[identity profile] twin-fans.livejournal.com 2010-04-10 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
He nods, looking it over again. "I guess having a few differences is common, especially around here, but it's not hard." All you need is a sense of speed and good balance.

He bends over and picks up the toolbox. "I'll leave you to it, then. Have a good time."

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-04-11 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, this is no fun...I mean, I knew I was going to wipe the floor with her, but I would have figured there would at least be some challenge. Tsukasa thought, as the distance between them increased. Well, that is what you get when you go much faster and the competition, Kadoya.

He throttled back a little, and as he slowed down, he called over his shoulder, "So, when did you learn to ride?"

Garrus wandered into the garage, mostly as a way to kill time and look around. He hadn't explored it that much since he got here, but he loved vehicles -- the Mako sitting in the Normandy SR-1's bay had practically been his baby -- so he couldn't stay away for long.

A flash of something light between the rows of vehicles caught his eye. That blond hair, the even stance -- looked like the commander. Might as well go say hi and see what's up.

"Hey, Shepard," he greeted. He looked curiously towards the vehicle she was sitting on. He'd never seen a vehicle quite like that; motorcycles weren't exactly common on the Citadel or Palaven. "What is that?"

[identity profile] phaseshifted.livejournal.com 2010-04-12 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
...Oh. That was not Shepard.

"Sorry, I thought you were someone else," he said sheepishly, gesturing towards her head. "Same hair color." If turians could blush, he'd be a little red right now. Normally he was better about recognizing humans, even from behind, but he didn't know many humans who were blond.

"So, uh. What is that, if you don't mind me asking," he continued on, turning towards the bike. "I've never seen anything like it before."

[identity profile] phaseshifted.livejournal.com 2010-04-14 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
Garrus almost did a double-take when the woman in front of him started talking. Whoa. She sounded a lot like the commander. There were differences, yes, but it just uncanny how similar they sounded.

He mentally shrugged and took a closer look at the motorcycle. The exposed metal gleamed dully in the light of the vehicle bay, drawing his attention to the partially-exposed parts. Did that serve a purpose, or was it an aesthetic choice? he wondered.

After a moment he stepped back to give her some room and gestured for her to continue. He didn't want to keep her from her ride, and besides, he wanted to see this thing in action.

Ashley had a chuckle at that. Whoever this was, the Williams woman liked her. "A definite pity." Ashley gave the machine and then the woman a onceover look.

"Gunnery Chief Ashley Williams. I'm one of the... I guess you could say new arrivals."

[identity profile] capture-worlds.livejournal.com 2010-04-16 11:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"What's the old saying? It's like riding a bike." Tsukasa chuckled a little at his joke...which really wasn't all that funny, but it's Tsukasa.

He deftly dodged some minor vehicles, pulling off some minor motorcycle tricks.

[identity profile] hero-sting.livejournal.com 2010-04-18 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Sorry, Samus." Chris replied. " I guess I'm just used to the marine-style way of thinking." Chris tried to ease himself into the conversation, without making himself feel too awkward.

"Do you need any help with the motorcycle?" He offered freely. "It looks similar to the kind I used to ride back home."

Ashley gave a nod. Samus seemed so much like Shepard by both looks and personality it was uncanny. "You sound a bit like my commander, Samus. What do you know about the situation here? This Chief guy gave me some info but I'd like to hear what another's opinion thinks."
