Points to the glorified bricklayer
Xander was in the city, overlooking the damage. It was odd how he knew things got messed up, but couldn't remember how now. Something to do with the whole Nightmare business. Well no matter, it needed to get straightened up, and see what was possibly salvageable or repairable. Not the best niche around, but a necessary one, and at least it was a good area he was familiar with.
As it was, he got started making his way through some of the rubble to see how to get started.

At the sound of footsteps, Goliath looks up from his rebuilding to the human approaching his territory and calls out a greeting, lest the human be surprised by the sight of him.
"What brings you this way, friend?"
no subject
"Uh wow, hey!" He waved back, "Trying to see what do about the mess and what can be repaired or not."

He jumps down from the wall, caping his wings as he stands.
"Do you have experience in reparation?"
no subject
Xander added, "So yeah I do. Also experience in construction."

He found his way down to the city, taking in all the damage. He wasn't sure what he was going to do there, but he needed something to occupy his hands and mind. Maybe he could try his hand at some repairs?
After a while he noticed another person in the area. "Hey," he called out, approaching the one-eyed man. "Are there any plans to rebuild this?"

As he was looked through the wreckage, he kept glancing back at the one-eyed guy. Something about him seemed really familiar. "Hey, um..." he said after a while, "sorry if this sound weird or anything, but do I know you from some place? I feel like I've seen you before, like, kind of a lot. Except I don't think we've met."

He then shrugged, "Good to meet ya, Rei. Been up for a while, or still kind of new?"
no subject
"Eh, I guess I'm... new-ish? I woke up I think a month or so before all that weirdness with the nightmares, I think. It's getting hard to tell with the... with the..."
And, like that, one could almost see the light go on in Rei's head.
"Wait, hold up, rewind. You said your name was Xander, and... 'Joss' is ripping you off," he said the next part slowly, trying to comprehend it himself, "Are you the same Xander that runs around with spunky cheerleader slash vampire slayer Buffy?"
no subject
"Do ye know if there's a specific place we're supposed to be putting the stuff that can be used again?"

Pausing for a moment by Xander, he looks out over the mess that is the city, then shakes his head. What a mess. "Well, at least there's one good thing about all of this," he comments dryly. "If ye didna like some of the buildings, ye get to re-design them."

"There's got to be a better way to rebuild so it can keep standing," he muses, glancing over at Xander. "Did ye have any ideas?"

Which was great, because now she knew where to look. Except for where it had taken her awhile to find the City.
But, hey, here now.
She wrapped her leather jacket around her - the same one Angel had given her so long ago - and double checked to make sure that her scythe was still strapped to her back.
It was.
Buffy didn't know what she'd do if she lost it.
She froze when she was him. His back was turned to her, and Buffy wondered if he was surveying the damage, deep in thought, or something else.
Regardless...
"...Xander?"

Still that was forgotten at the sight of his friend.
"Buff! Hey, what took ya so long?" He immediately headed over for much overdue huggage. He then shifted his arms when noticing the heavy metal on her back.
Right, careful huggage around big honkin' scythe of vampire doom.

Which was very hard to do, all things considered. There was a bright smile on her face, but tears in her eyes. This was...this was...
There were no words.
"And, you know, the Big Bad nightmare that was the...Nightmare King, actually."
She pulled away from Xander then and took him on. "It really is you. In all of your Xander-shapiness."
no subject
"It's me, and you in your awesome Buffiness. Really a sight for this sore eye, you know?" He wasn't sure when he was going to see any of his friends again.

Up ahead of him, he saw someone he thought he recognized. "Hey ... Xander, right?"
