Some Beach... [Totally OPEN!]

It was going to be like the much needed vacation stuck on a ship with people from all forms of live in the middle of the Black. What better way to take a quick break than to go to the sensoriums and ask Stacy for the most tropical place that she could think of that was crew friendly? It was perfect. That was all Gwen could say as she stretched out on her beach chair soaking up fake sun resting on the fake sand as the fake crystal blue water lapped at the empty beach.

Okay sure none of it was real but it was as close as the red head could get and she was going to enjoy every single minute of it. The fact that there was plenty of room for others to come and enjoy it was just what she possibly thought everyone needed. So Gwen had sent out a text over the waves for people to come on up and bring their sunscreen for the fun that could be had. There was a wetbar not far up nestled under the large palm trees and tropical plants with their own virtual bar tender, heck there was even a place to rent a surfboard or boogieboard if no one was daring enough to test the waves. Thankfully she had asked Stacy to leave the sharks out. No one wanted to reenact the movie Jaws while they were there.. she hoped. Even an empty volleyball court was just down the way waiting on someone to take up a game or three.

Everything was... perfect.

With a pleased little smile Gwen settled back against her chair only adjusting the large sunglasses once. Yep. This was the life.

The beach is just what Asuka ordered, actually. She found herself a spot with plenty of sun, summoned up a beach towel, straw hat and sunglasses to go with her swimsuit and settled down to enjoy some sunbathing. Maybe this would help get her mind off of everything that had happened over the last few days.

Tycho's heals sunk into the pleasantly warm sand as he walked down the beach, wearing the rather small swimming trunks the sensoriums had seen fit to provide him with. He'd been on a variety of beaches in his life, seen purple oceans, green sand, blue sand and orange waters under pink skies. This though this was closest to the beaches of Alderaan, and similar to seeing his X-Wing in the hangar-bay it tugged on his heart and made him feel at home.

He was staring out at the water, at the gently lapping waves, not even paying attention to where he was going, when he noticed out of the corner of his eyes that he was almost upon another visitor to the beach. He turned, about to open his mouth to say 'pardon me' when he realized who it was. Asuka. Tycho grimaced. She certainly wasn't going to be happy to see him.

Oh well, no reason not to be polite. "Pardon me, I didn't see you there," he offered carefully. Suddenly he felt very under-dressed, standing there in front of his 14 (14!) year old pilot. :|

[identity profile] redheadcarrier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 08:37 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, that's OK, Tycho. Honestly, he should be more concerned about what she's wearing. (http://cosplay.lightchan.com/images/2009/06/kipiasukalangleysoryucosplay.jpg) She blinked up at him and carefully lifted her sunglasses to make sure she was seeing who she was seeing. Great. She scowled at him and dropped her sunglasses.

"What do you want? Sir."

The sir sounded more like a threat then an actual title of respect.

[identity profile] sonofalderaan.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 08:50 am (UTC)(link)
"Honestly," Tycho shrugs. "I was hoping to enjoy the beach a little, say hello to Gwen, possibly meet some more of my crewmates."

He sighs as he looks down at Asuka- he takes in her swimsuit, and honestly, he isn't the least surprised by it. "It was entirely a coincidence my running into you here," he offers.

[identity profile] redheadcarrier.livejournal.com 2010-03-20 08:52 am (UTC)(link)
Asuka sighed in exasperation and sat up, leaning on her elbows. "Can't you go enjoy something else? I was here first."

Xander sort of missed Sunnydale's beach at times. So when he checked his comm, the idea was tempting. He came bearing sunscreen since he tended to burn and then tan. He never wore speedos since his brief stint on the Swim team so the ladies will have to settle for eying him in loud Hawaiian print boxers instead. He also had a beach chair to flop out on comfortably after setting it in the sand.

[Xander could recognize Tycho as James Bond, if you want. Also, he's totally read every Star Wars book ever, hasn't he? He knows who Tycho is.]

Tycho strolled further down the beach, until he came across another crew member, one that he didn't recognize.

"Hello," he offered, pausing as he held his hand up to his brow to keep the sun out of his eyes.

[identity profile] thexanwhosees.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
(he'd know about Tycho definitely, geek fanboy that he is. Thinking timing wise, he may or may not have had easy access to go to the movies by that point. Face would be faintly recognizable.)

Xander tilted his head, something familiar, but he couldn't place it.

"Uh hey, how's it going?" He waved a hand back in greeting.

[identity profile] sonofalderaan.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Tycho smiled down at him. "I don't think we've met," he offered. "I'm Colonel Tycho Celchu, New Republic Starfighter command."

Let the fanboying commence.

Kang had woken up the day after his party, unsurprisingly, with a hangover. He remembered most of the night, but after the point where Grace had sung that song on stage, things got a little fuzzy; he was pretty sure he'd ended up teaching a song or two to the crowd himself.

He'd been making sure to take walks every now and then, to keep his leg from getting stiff, and his current one led him into the Sensoriums. Luckily, he'd gotten past the light sensitivity stage, so the bright sunlight didn't make him want to kill himself, but he still had a niggling headache right behind his eyes.

...huh. Was this what an ocean beach looked like? He could feel the sunlight warming him up, less humid than the air he'd gotten used to inside Stacy, and the breeze had quite a few scents he didn't recognize on it. It was nice, actually. He could stay a while, enjoy the heat.

[identity profile] starktech.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 10:31 am (UTC)(link)
Okay. So That was definitely not human. Which wasn't to say it threw Tony off guard exactly, but when he'd heard there was a beach party that he should probably show up at, sunbathing dragon creatures hadn't exactly been what he'd pictured.
Whatever it was, it had definitely picked a pretty good spot for watching the bathing suit parade, and with his curiosity sufficiently piqued, he made the decision to stay- if only for a while.

Nice shades, by the way, Stacy. He added 'costume design in weird holographic environments' to the ever lengthening list of situations (not all sexual) where he'd be totally okay with mind reading- and sauntered over.

Being a reptile, and thus poikilothermic, Kang was feeling pretty lazy. He hadn't bothered taking his leather armor off since he didn't sweat, and was sitting down on a sand dune, watching everyone else curiously.

He noticed the human approaching him and tilted his head to one side slightly, "You're one of the new people, aren't you?"

[identity profile] starktech.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 10:43 am (UTC)(link)
Well, that answered the 'does it speak' question, and went some way to answering the one about gender, too. He didn't mean to be rude- it was just pure curiosity. Which had killed a few cats in its time.

"Yeah," he replied, examining the reptilian from behind the shades. "Tony. I take it you've been here a while?"

"Gwen, good to see you," Kang smiled, the end of his tail moving back and forth lazily across the sand. "Never seen the ocean before. I like it. Is the water always that blue?"

The sun is warm on Nura's lightly-tanned skin as she walks down the beach, just barely covered by her swim-wear (to be fair, the future has different styles on beach-wear) while scouting for a good spot to lay down her light blue towel and kick off her matching flip-flops.

Some sun is just what Nura needs to ease her nerves and let her forget all her worries for at least a little while. She isn’t going to let any of those troubling/confusing/some-what impossible/possible visions bother her today! Because today, Nura is going to forget that she’s a precog, and instead be a beach bunny.

"Ahh..." she says in satisfactory as she lays down her towel on a particularly key slope of sand, close to the shade of a tall palm tree, should she need it. Nura smoothes out the creases of the towel, and then lays down on it, nuzzling the towel and curling her toes against the sand.

The sun feels good on her back.

Here to both traumatize and arouse

When Wanda peered inside the Sensorium she couldn't resist herself. She loved beaches, and very, very, very good memories associated with them.

The moment she stepped inside Stacy once again replaced her plantsuit with a somewhat embarrassing outfit.

Oh well, it was the beach.

As if Nura's swim-wear is any better...

After about a solid half-hour of soaking up the warm rays of the sun (albeit, fake sun rays by the standards of the sensoriums) Nura had decided to explore the beach, in, what 21st century vernacular considered, 'beach combing'. The sand is warm beneath her feet.

When she sees Wanda, she smiles warmly and gives the woman a friendly wave from the bottom of the slope of sand that Wanda stands at the top of. "Hey, ho, Wanda. Are you enjoying the beach?"

"I will be in a moment." Wanda replied, taking off her cloak and headdress. Honestly, she just looked silly wearing them here. "I'm sorry, have we met?" She was sure she had seen this woman before but could not come up with a name.

Nura laughs lightly.

"It always seems that way, doesn't it?" she shakes her head, and then beams brightly. "My name is Nura Nal-Dox, but my teammates call me Dream Girl - I am a precog." She tilts her head, hair moving slightly to give the idea that Nura might not be wearing a swim top at all (there is no such thing as fear of nudity within the Legion).

Further down the beach and Tycho finally reached where Gwen was laying. "Gwen, hello!" he greeted her, the warmth in his smile genuine.

[identity profile] sonofalderaan.livejournal.com 2010-03-21 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"It is lovely, and feels very convincingly real," Tycho agreed as he settled down in a spot next to Gwen on the sand. "And it seems the crew could use some relaxation." He wasn't going to mention that he wasn't exactly here to relax himself, more to meet people.

"I hope you're doing well," he continued. "How's the knee? Not bothering you anymore I hope?"

Tycho knows about his swimsuit Gwen. :| Thankfully he doesn't embarrass easily, and honestly has nothing to worry about about all the skin he's showing off right now. Tycho takes good care of himself.
