Friendly Fire

Elsewhere on this ship, a war was being waged. A war for the hearts and minds, the souls and very sanity of this crew.

A war that Stacy wasn't certain that all would survive, hence why she released you. Replacements would be needed.

But that war is miles away from where you are. Or at least, so it seems. There are no screams of agony to greet you, no monsters trying to claw at you.

But that doesn't mean the Nightmare King can't reach you.

Prior to your arrival here on the Obs deck, reality had been shifted. Constructs of the current crew grew out of nothing. All of them look, sound, feel, behave, and scan as the crew member they're copying. They're as real as you are. And with smiling faces, they await your arrival.

They can't wait to welcome you. To your doom.

Won't you say hi?

[ooc: Nightmare plot is still on, people, and this is the newbie portion. For all current players, as stated above, the Nightmare King made copies of your guys, who are still stuck fighting nightmares elsewhere in the plot. You can tag in as the copy of your character, have them be friendly, get the newbies to let their guard down, and then the real nightmare can begin. Newbies, you can tag in, have fun, and suspect nothing until its too late.]

[Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have the copies of your guys greet the newbies.]

"I see," Alessa said. "I am Alessa. I have been on this ship for several months now, and I see that you might require a bit of an explanation. You, like several others here, look confused."

That, of course, was an understatement: there were several people walking about that looked as if they were all still gathering their wits, deciding if the place they were looking at was a dream or real.

If only they knew.

"I confess, I have not seen anyone on the ship with the name Neggy-sen-say. But I will try to answer any other question as best as I can."

"It is nice to meet you."

Negi-sensei wasn't awake in the ship. However her card was not dead, so he is not dead. "What information is available on the ship's creation and destination? Is it a creation of Magic, or Old World's science?" Understanding the ship seemed to be the best and most prudent course. While she was worried about Negi-sensei's companions, she had very little to work with asking for information.

"Also, where are proper clothes available? I am not thrilled with this..." Yue paused, "garment." The idea of a living organism on her skin, was very troubling. Nudity almost seemed more natural and preferable to this. Barring the issues that came with nudity, such as lack of pockets and embarrassment.

While the copy of Alessa was dead-on, the Nightmare King had only encountered Danny in a pissed off and snarky mood.

"Survey says? No-one likes the suits. Deal with it."

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 01:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Likewise."

"Alessa" was about to go on when the Danny Phantom boy interrupted with just the right amount of disdain for the place. That was fine, really. The more comfortable (if one could call it that) one felt in this place, the better.

Not that it meant being unhelpful. That would certainly arouse suspicion.

"The ship's creation isn't one we know much about, honestly, only that it was created by a species known as the Daligig in an effort to combat the most malicious species known in the universe called the Ohm. You've been summoned to combat the Ohm as they are a destructive force that eat up worlds. If you are here, that likely means your own world no longer exists, and the ship claimed you in an effort to preserve future worlds in jeopardy of being consumed by this destructive alien species."

Alessa's bluntness? Totally mimicked to perfection, though Alessa would have protested otherwise.

"There is the weapon and possession locker where you can change clothing, although if you are strong enough, like I am, you can preserve your clothing nonetheless."

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 04:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Yue listened to the two, and considered a moment. If the ship had any magical basis, she could just look it up. Even if no direct reference could be made to the Daligig or the Ohm, if there was even the slightest mention of them in the combined archives of Mundus Magicus, she can find it. "I did find my personal affects before coming up here," they were her only ties to her lost memories, she needed them, "One moment."

"Adeat," Yue spoke the simple incantation aloud and a book appeared floating in front of her hand, and a broom in the other. Incidentally her outfit changed to that of a school uniform, robe, and rather ridiculous witch's hat. She smiled a little that at least her artifact was at her disposal. The book opened and letters started to appear on the page, Yue figured the best place to start is seeking any references to Daligig.

The letters turned into words, latin words. Which moments later translated themselves to Japanese. The text reads:

We're sorry, the information you are searching for is not available at this time.

Reading down past there was a series of suggestions as to how you might have reached this message in error, or reasons this message might appear. Yue tried Ohm, much to the same result. Then she decided to look up Lux, a spell she knew should be in her research materials. It too gave her that error message. If I cannot even find the most basic magics in the Orbis, then the book must not be connected to MahoNet. Meaning both worlds are most likely destroyed, as I have been told.

At least she had clothes now. "How are we expected to fight this enemy, if its already destroyed are worlds? And how do they go about this destruction, is it under a subterfuge or a more direct attack?"

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-02 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
The method in which Yue looked up her information intrigued this fake Alessa: it would be interesting to see what sort of nightmares that would come out of the mind of this girl. She certainly wasn't a common human, that much was clear. She looked to be some kind of witch, which was not uncommon on this ship actually: there were several of those kind here after all.

"This ship is comprised of many meta-humans, mutants, alien species and several others that are very powerful. So far we don't quite know how the Ohm attack, but the ship pulled certain people out before they were destroyed. I imagine its reasoning is because we are the strongest, and the hope that with all of us, we may finally be able to prevent total annihilation of universes by the Ohm."

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 03:44 am (UTC)(link)
Yue nodded, not a lot to go by. It would be helpful to have some of that information. However, the conclusions reached about why the people here were saved confuses her. She was in no way exceptional, and no matter how she could be qualified as powerful, Negi-sensei was more powerful than she was. Her artifact was non-functional, it was part of how she achieved a lot of her meager accomplishments. Whoever created this set-up should have planned for this sort of situation. Unless her rescue was by chance, which did not fit with the information given.

"And what would you two be qualified as under that list?" It would help explain their purpose, if she knew what others were capable of.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
"Alessa" turned to Danny. "Well, he is a half ghost, from what I've learned," she said. "And I am a demon. Both of us possess powers that can aid in the defeat of the Ohm, I imagine. You may not think yourself strong, but ship certainly thought so. You wouldn't be here otherwise."

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-03 05:18 am (UTC)(link)
Yue immediately moved toward the 'half ghost, "I have never come across mention of a 'half ghost' in any of my reading... is this a common occurrence?" It wasn't something she'd ever thought of as possible, one was alive, or dead. There was no third option between the two. A halfway mark between alive and dead. Except for vampires, and that did not seem to be the case here.

The girl was also an oddity, while demons were commonplace at home, they generally did not take human form. Unless they were moving through the Old World, where magic was being kept hidden. However, there was the chance that such human form was taken for the ease of anyone not used to such a world. Like the entire human world this was hidden from.

Giving her attention back both to the most pressing aspect of the day, and to the girl that was being so helpful, "Well, if I am to be of assistance, do you have any ideas where I could start, perhaps a library? Or am I to remain here until all the others that awoke with me are ready to be put to work?"

[identity profile] halfa-hero.livejournal.com 2010-03-04 04:06 am (UTC)(link)
"No, it's only happened twice, Three times if you count being cloned." said 'Danny' rolling his eyes and acting as though he was tired of having to answer the question. Which, really, was how the actual Danny would've reacted.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-04 06:16 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa, on the other hand, was a person with a bit more focus, and that worked well for the Nightmare King's purpose. The similarities between she and the King, in fact, were something it knew Alessa hated yet was a part pf at the same time. It was for that reason that this version of Alessa could still be playe4d so well.

"We have a media library, yes. I would be happy to lead you there. Just follow me."

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-04 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Half-Ghost... what an odd concept. Perhaps his body was alive somewhere and he was wandering the world in a spirit form of some kind. With more drive than an average ghost, giving him form. As death is a rather binary thing.

A library, perfect! Yue lit up a little at the word. Exactly the sort of location to ease her mind. No matter where she was, or what has happened, a library was natural to her. It was where she felt at home, even if no book she had touched held an answer to her memories, even her own book. However there might be some answer in the library for this situation.

"Thank you," while she lit up at the word, the moment she spoke she was as cold and calm as she always was. "Lead the way."

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Alessa smiled and led the girl down to the media library, the lighted walkways leading them. Honestly, these newly pod popped would be easily attainable. They were already so very confused, what was more confusion going to do but cause a little more chaos? And they were so very, very good at that. The king would be pleased today, and when all went well, the ship would be taken in a matter of time.

The plan was to trap her in the library and have this Yue start to experience her worse fears. When she got there, she would lock her in a pocket of the Nightmare King's, and then she would be in for the fight of her life. Humans were fragile things, even enhanced, and their emotions were the key to their downfall.

But when they entered the library, they were in for a shock: there was another person waiting for them, and she did not look happy, not at all.

It was another Alessa.

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-05 06:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Two of them, this was... unexpected. This other Alessa was not wearing a particularly happy expression. Eastern Magic carried duplication charms, and there were demon clans that carry the ability of mimicry. However, whatever the details, the location and scenario screamed for caution.

Yue's hand moved to her wand, and her card. Ready to at a moment use either, "Something tells me that you two were not expecting each other."

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 02:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then you should be attacking this impostor," Alessa said, her voice filled with venom. "Bad enough I have to get distracted from my fight, but now I come to find this filthy doppelganger. So this is your plan then, minion? Impersonating other crew members so you can trap the newly podpopped? You shall learn your place."

The other Alessa rolled her eyes. "My PLACE is on the ship, where I belong and where I have been since Stacy abducted me. I don't know what you are, but you're not going to fool us." She turned to Yue apologetically. "There are sometimes monsters on the ship that we have to fight, even figments when you get right down to it. This 'thing' is new though. I don't know how it was created. Won't you help me?"

True Alessa looked to be getting more furious at the moment. "Do not help that thing. It will only be prolonging the eventual defeat of you and yoiur newly podpopped. You have to listen to me."

And for all instances, they both seemed to be telling the truth.

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
If these monsters were attempting a full trap with numbers to their advantage, the room with the greeting party was a trap, thus the Alessa she was traveling with was fake, and she should aid the newcomer. However, if the number of monsters is minimal, and there is no way for them to attempt such a grand trap, a handful of replacements could be used to cause misdirection, getting possible allies to fight each other.

In either event, the two Alessa's communally gave Yue enough information to decide two things: She cannot trust either of them, and she should regroup with those that woke up at the same time she did. Yue pulled her wand from her pocket, such a basic spell required no incantation, her heart and mind put the words into form, the form grew at the end of her wand. LUX

A blinding flash burst from the wand, Yue's only goal to distract and blind both girls as she made her escape on broomback. Whichever Alessa won, she would have to be careful as she had zero evidence to support which one is the correct one. And hopefully, the good one would keep the evil one occupied while she escaped.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 03:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Good, of course, being a misnomer, considering it was Alessa, but it looked as if the fake was not happy with losing her victim: it was sure to displease the King. That Alessa suddenly morphed into a kind of serpentine creature with tentacles, and threw its tentacles forward in a flash, seizing the broom and Yue went flying off. It's harsh cry was short lived, however: Alessa, the REAL one, appeared and caught Yue midair. She was sweating a little (it was what happened if you morphed from Escherville to the library so quickly) but Alessa was just as determined NOT to let this illusion stand.

The minion came at the two of them now, its teeth bared and its tentacles ready. Alessa gave a small smile. "Any more tricks up your sleeve? I could fight this, but I've a feeling your attack would be a lot...cleaner."

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 03:21 pm (UTC)(link)
"Cleaner..?" Right, demonic powers were often... messy. Whatever this double was, she at least had some idea of which side she was on. If Yue had any chance of getting to anyone she needed back her broom, "I should escape to warn the others that woke with me, as soon as I give you a distinct advantage, I will leave your double to you."

Yue hopped down to the ground, "For so Kratika Socratia, 37 Spiritus Convertia Aerialis!" As Yue spoke several balls of energy formed behind her, one after another in near instant succession. As she finished speaking there was a count matching her incantation, and as she threw her wand forward they all moved toward the false Alessa. None in a straight line, but all with only the one target in front of them. If they strike true, they will spread out into binding arms, ensnaring the target to keep it chained to the ground, unmoving.

After her spell was cast, Yue reached her free hand out. The spell in her heart tugging the broom back to its rightful place. Hoping that between the spell, the binding, and the other girl. The monster in front of her would return her broom. Then she can get out of here.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-03-08 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
Alessa was glad that she got the message. What she wasn't so happy about knowing exactly what happened once she got back to Escherville. This had taken a substantial amount of power, which should have been reserved for fighting those monstrosities. Not that this could be helped though.

She forcibly grabbed her double, who was far from looking like a double at this point anyway: it was a wild, angry tentacled red thing, kicking and screeching, teeth gnashing and drool flying freely. The broom was no longer in its possession, and Alessa decided that Yue could retrieve it herself: if she pushed it toward her, it would only make things worse for her anyway.

Alessa would, of course, be disposing of this creature. She wanted the Nightmare King to know that it was her that had done this.

"Get going!" she said.

[identity profile] falseswordsgirl.livejournal.com 2010-03-08 03:38 am (UTC)(link)
The broom launched itself into Yue's hand. She did not need to be told twice. The girl tipped her large witch's hat at the demon before flying off down the hall. Most of the others that woke up were old enough that they could easily take care of themselves.

Yue's mind drifted to the young girl, Chihiro. She did not seem to be as strong for her age, she was the most likely to be in need of rescue. She should hurry, no telling how quickly the others were being lured into traps. She should also try to signal Chao on her way. If that was possible without taking too much time.
