Asuka kept her face down, still sobbing quietly. The question penetrated, however. As did the voices. She sniffled, trying not to be seen crying. Who were they? Why were they here? Why hadn't they been there for her earlier? Why did it matter? They were probably just going to leave her anyway, just like everyone else. Like Mama and Kaji and Shinji. She sniffled again.
"...what do you want?"
The tone is hostile, but there's a sense of desperation and sadness underneath it (maybe they really are here to help).
