The Doctor is Out (and still in at the same time?)
Brainiac 5, for all his 12th-level genius, is an idiot. Sometimes there's just this thing that mad scientist nerds do, a sort of super-focus that overrides all else. Brainy seems to be in that fugue state of total concentration right now, as he distractedly gets himself some food.
He's an idiot because it's been days since he's, you know, eaten, because he still hasn't slept, and because he still hasn't had his own injuries tended to. (The plant-sap is a wound sealant and antibacterial agent. It'll do for now, is his reasoning).
Even now, he's synched up his omnicom to the vitals of the few left in the MedBay, and is plinking away at it. Sam is stable, but still in his coma, or else he wouldn't have left.
"Omnicom, record under medical file for Winchester, Sam. New entry. Neural regeneration proceeding as planned, and neural grafts seems to be healing cleanly. Vital signs are stable. BP and pulse are at normal parameters, but further monitoring is advised..."
While distracted, and prone to bumping into someone else with his tray as he carries it back with him to a table to wolf down slop as quickly as he's able, he's there, if anyone has need of him, or wants to goggle at the green guy (if they're new), or wants to know why Superman wanted to beat him up.

"Thank you," she says, before impulsively kissing him on the cheek.

He actually isn't sure what came over him. The idea of someone else implying remotely lewd things to her had caused him to be ferociously protective. Perhaps overprotective.
That, added to the kiss to his cheek, means that now he's confused.
"You're...welcome. I suppose."

Instead, she just starts to putter and sputter and mutter about...trying to do what she can until the doctor arrives.

"Please state the nature of the medical emergency."

"Ss. Ah!"

Ow ow ow ow...

He grasps her hand with his own. What? It's there.

Guh!
"It's almost done, Brainy. The pain's almost over."

A pause. It always pays to be polite to AIs, given their possibility of sentience or obtaining it.
"Thank you."
The Doctor disappears and he lets go of Kara's hand, pretending he'd never held it in the first place, and taps a few things out on the screens, frowns briefly at Sam's before tapping something, and then he...starts stripping more, unpeeling the suit from his legs so that only the most pertinent bits are covered.
The reason for this is the fact that his legs are covered in bruises. He'd fought Robin, after all. He'd had plenty on his torso, but he'd made a quick sweep with the tissue regenerator earlier to take care of those, when he'd taken care of his face.
So, apparently, his back had been a giant mass of scrapes and scabbing, and his entire body had been banged up, and despite that, he'd gone the last few days utterly without complaint or even taking a moment to take care of himself.
Not that anyone else would know. But then, for all his bragging about his intelligence, he generally was quiet about such matters.
He's quiet now as he heals himself up, not looking at Kara, looking for all the world like a lonely child thoughtfully sticking band-aids on himself.

Blast it.
Wordlessly, he holds out the tissue regenerator to her, a slight annoyed quirk to his lips.
"Press the button. Hold it at a 90 angle, approximately two inches above the bruise, and move it in slow sweeps. A monkey could do it. In fact, were Koko not sleeping, I'd hand it over to him."
He needs his hands free for the holo-screens anyway.

And also slightly turned on.no subject
Yes. It's a little obvious to her. She's actually blushing a little bit."Great," she mutters. "Here I am tending to you, and you're just staring at your holo-screens. Typical male behavior. Apparently it literally is universal."no subject
It's not that obvious, Kara. He's just a little...flushed. My isn't that a lovely shade of green."Multiversal. I would imagine other males on this ship engage in similar behavior. Though it's entirely possible that it's simply the need to tone you out that's common."
He can't help but smirk somewhat as he teases.

"Nonsense."
Come on, Kara, how mean does he have to be to make you go away?
"I--"
He can't bring himself to say something suitably obnoxious to make her go running for the hills, and in fact, when she smiles at him, he fumbles and nearly drops the regenerator.

He can't stop stuttering.
"I really should get back to work," he finally says, crawling over the other side of the table to get away from her, quickly pulling up and refastening his plant-suit.
