It's a Date [Closed]

Tony peered out at the passing Bleed, watching the swirling colors slide past. He felt a bit nervous for some reason - the idea of this being an "official" date was odd, but he was the one who proposed it. Huh. He hoped things would work out well (and so far, between him and Kate, things had been fantastic). It was nice to have someone grounding, someone there who he could just talk or cuddle with. It gave him something real to hold onto.

He grinned to himself and nervously tried to tame his unruly hair again. Nope. Not happening. He sighed and turned towards the door, laughing at himself. Kate liked his hair unruly. It was part of who he was.

"They don't have fusion places in LA? Or just not like this?" She said as they walked in.

"You mean somebody ordered some for you... or." She thought about it, and then realized with a pang. "You mean scrounging?"

She then drew closer to kiss his cheek, "Not this time."

"I... I was just thinking of the people I used to help at the shelters, felt like we were giving them their first real meal in a week or two. I just wish situations like that didn't have to happen, you know? That's there's always enough for everyone. And yeah, I know, I've seen how wasteful even some of my classmates in school were."

A host then came over, "Ms. Bishop, how nice to see you again. Your table's right this way."

Kate looked briefly uncomfortable, partly because she knew it was just her memories, also partly the recognition she often received because of her family's money. She never liked it.

"Some of them do care."

They were seated at a table, and given menus.

Kate then explained, "I guess because of my memories. Um. The Bishop name's pretty well known. It's only because of my dad though, and all his money." It's a little like going out with the daughter of one of Rupert Murdoch's rivals.

"Publishing. He's well, he's something of a magnate. Owns several magazines, newspapers, and books." She saw a chicken and pasta dish that looked good. Again, knowing it will be slop, but at least didn't have to think of it as that.

no problem

Kate placed her own order, along with some iced tea.

She added, "He's been taking measures into that as well. Especially for dual subscription services for print and online. His company was one of the first offering it."

"He is. He just cares more about business than anything else," She shrugged, "I'm used to it. House only been really quiet after my mom passed and especially after Susan got married."

"No it isn't. He still helps when he can, but mostly through donations. He's not as hands on as my mom was."

She clutched his hand back, "Thanks, it's been a few years now." Not mentioning that she was killed then, and that helped influence her later desire to be a hero, along with the subsequent attack on Kate herself.

"No, I agree it's not the same. It wasn't enough for me unless I could make a direct difference to help others. Anyway I can."

She shrugged, "It's in the past. Really in the past now." Just old scars now.

Kate then asked, "What movies do you like?"
