Zero-G testing session

This particular Sensorium door, today, opens into a strange long room with a padded floor. Tess is waiting there, wearing her suit—form-fitting, slightly iridescent blue-green material that covers all of her but her face (with the faceplate open, split to either side), with slim-fitted panels and segments integrated into that and a slim little 'backpack' unit, like some bizarre offspring of a wetsuit and a science-fiction spacesuit.

She waits for the people who responded to her message, and waves vigorously as they—and anyone else who happens to stop by—come in.

Arriving early in her compression suit, helmet tucked under her arm, Lafiel fairly bounded into the room. She skidded to a stop in the middle though and looked puzzled. Why the gravity?

Jamie, for once, is early - and visibly excited to be there. It's also one of the rare times that he's not seen around the ship in his kilt. The plantsuit makes much more sense for this situation.

He enters a bit cautiously. Once he realizes the gravity's still on, however, he walks in as normal and moves over to one side of the room to wait.

Tess waves to both, hopping her way over slightly awkwardly over the squishy padding covering the floor. "Thanks fer showin' up," she says to Jaime, and grins broadly at Lafiel. "And you too. I wasn't sure if I could even handle this all by myself..." She steps (squishes) forward and offers Lafiel a suited hand.

Fletcher was interested by the post over the omnicomms, and truthfully it could be a useful thing to experience. Also, he had to do something to take his mind off his recent awful dreams, and resulting sleeplessness.

So he peeked into the Sensoriums, and once he realized there was actually gravity there he walked in cautiously. He was still uncertain around people he didn't know.

Billy poked his head inside shortly after, entering quietly. So this was a training chamber. He would enjoy familiarizing himself with this place.

He saw Tess on one side and waved to her, then nodded to Jamie. The other two, the younger boy and the regal-looking woman, were relative strangers. Maybe he'd get to know them, he thought hopefully.

Who had time to dwell on nightmares when they were going to undergo part of the training he'd wanted since childhood?

Lafiel was still unused to this Lander custom. Handshake and smile were both hesitant. "I suppose it's no problem. Those with m...our levels of experience in this are in short supply after all."

She looked over today's students. "How many of you have been in Zero G before?"

"Thank ye for doing this," Jamie replies to Tess, then gives Lafiel a somewhat puzzled glance as he tries to place her. As Tess goes over to greet her, his expression clears and he nods briefly to himself. Another instructor, then.

When he spots Billy, he gives his friend a positively cheerful wave then turns the motion into a 'come-over-here' gesture. He's about to murmur something to him but the question catches his attention and turns it back to Lafiel.

He shakes his head. "Not Zero G, no. I do have a wee bit of experience with lower gravity, though."

As they start describing their prior experience, Billy catches Jamie's signal and moves to stand beside his friend.

"My experience consists entirely of the brief absence of gravity when we descend to a planet for missions," he adds. "My attempts at maneuvering were...largely unsuccessful, to say the least."

Another Jamie (the non-Scottish, Zoid-piloting one) ventures inside just in time to hear Lafiel's question. He briefly scans the room and its occupants while the others give their replies, and then he offers his own. "Uhh, no. I don't have any experience with this."

Katara is late for the gathering, and its pretty obvious why: her face has fairly noticeable bags under her eyes, and her hair is looking a bit frazzled. Despite this, she appears, and gives Tess a friendly wave before settling over to where Lafiel is.

"None here either," she said.

Fletcher shakes his head in response, as well. "M-me either." He doesn't know what else he can add to that statement.

"Hey, hope I didn't miss anything." Cassie had to talk herself into going out for this but she couldn't mope forever.

Tess offers waves to the newcomer, and a bright smile at Fletcher in particular, seemingly ignorant of the effects a form-fitting suit like hers (and the generous form it's fitting) might have on an innocent young mind. "All right!" she says. She claps her hands together once and bounces up and down on her heels a little, an extra spring in hte movement because of the cushions covering the flow.. "Looks like we still got—'least one person t'show up. Any've y'all tell your friends t'come by?"

"Does that count?" Jamie murmurs Billy, keeping his voice quiet. "The part on the missions?" He hadn't considered that, but if that's truly zero G, he's doing better than he thought.

He's a bit nonplussed, though, as it appears that most people don't seem to even have had what little in the way of low gravity experiences he's undergone. He would have thought more people would have, given the diversity of the crew. Maybe it's just they didn't decide to show up?

Or maybe they were supposed to find people? Jamie's confused by Tess's question, and feels the need to clarify. "Och, were we supposed to?"

"I believe so," he whispers to Jamie.

To Tess's question, he shakes his head. "I probably should have."
