Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There was condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in oblong glowing things that were clustered along the floors and walls of the huge, ancient-looking caverns.

For now, the ones that were cracking were the closest to the floor, but perhaps later, the figures sliding out of the pods would be sliding out onto the slimy walkways and platforms above.

Pop. Poppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiissss.

There was light, and unconscious minds breaking through the top of the briny, harsh waters of consciousness, as their bodies did similarly and broke free from the pods, sliding to the floor, shivering in pools of slime.

Once the temporary blindness that some of them had passed, and once they were free of their sleepy stupors: somebody had some splainin' to do.

But there would be no explanations, as the only thing that could explain was only watching, silently, almost as a mother would look at their child right after it was born.

Pop. KASCHUNKhissss.

||You are welcome.|| the voice answered. ||I am --|| there was a burst of psychic feeling within Kate's head, one of warmth and kindness. Duty. Honor. Maternal love. ||The closet pronunciation is STA'C K'LTRRB'TXFT. But you can call me Stacy.||

She staggered a little at the sudden flood of emotions. That was really unfair. She still missed her mom sometimes, even though it's been about two years or so now.

"Stacey? Could you do me a favor? Try to hold off on the telepathy in the future, please? At least the emotional part? ...It's just... never mind." She then continued trudging to the lockers, her thoughts mixed about all of this.

||I am sorry if I caused you distress.|| Stacy answered. And she probably was, as much as she could be.

The pustules lead Kate upwards through the spiraling caverns. At the top, they stopped before a doorway in a large, circular structure that stretched from floor to ceiling. Within the structure was a room, where numerous vines dangled from the ceiling.

||Please move to the center of the room.||

"I'll be fine, it's just memories, you know?" But now she had reached the room, and this was weird, even for where she came from.

She then stepped into the middle of the room, her blue eyes warily glancing around, and her body shifted instinctively into a defensive stance. Her slim muscular form would suggest an very agile and athletic fighter.

The vines moved.

They reached down, wrapping themselves around her and lifting her up from the floor in spite of her fighting stance. A few moments later, she was back on the floor, dressed in a surprisingly comfortable, dark membranous material. Most of the goo from the pod had also been removed.

She's not entirely this isn't S.H.I.E.L.D. seemed like the only explanation for *that.* It seemed to work though, and at least she wasn't naked and slimy now.

"Thank you, but I have some personal belongings, where are they?"

||Certain possessions such as clothing and small arms will be available in the Weapons and Possessions Lockers.|| Stacy said. ||Would you like me to lead you there?||

Small arms? If that meant she still had her costume and weapons that would be great. Then she can find where her teammates are.

She brightened at the news, and smiled, "Please."

Another line of pustules led her to another doorway on the outside of the circular structure. The door opened, revealing a slightly cramped tube.

||The Hub will take you where you want to go.|| Stacy explained.

Walking or crawling? Hmmm. Just have to make do for now, and find her friends. She nodded and went to head into the tube.

Sshloooooooooooop. The tube was basically an elevator with no platform. An anti-gravity elevator. Occasionally, energy tendrils would move Kate from one tube to another, but her progress was largely vertical.

At the end of the last tube, she'd find herself in the living area.

Another path lit up, leading her to another door, this one revealing a room full of stuff. All kinds of stuff.

||Your possessions are within.|| Stacy said, apparently having come up with Kate.

Part of it wasn't that strange, but she could do without the tendrils. She was starting to hope this was a surreal dream, but it's looking less and less likely.

"Thank you, is anybody else here?" She then headed into the room, and went to find that familiar purple costume and gear.
