Lean Mean Blue Machine [open to anyone (but NOT a meeting post! Just for meeting Jaime)]
There's a lot of people that mill around after the crew returns. Jaime Reyes, also known as the Blue Beetle, stays suited up for now, just in case, especially after getting fried with a Dracon beam twice.
He's trying to get through to the MedBay, where Paco is, because he doesn't want him to have to go through his de-Yeerking alone, whatever the Yeerk said or tried to do to him.
But the blue-suited, alien symbiote-powered teenager is willing to talk to or help any new person that needs it.
"Everybody okay? I know you new guys got all confused and shaken up by this, too."

He does, however, scrabble at top speed to hide behind Jaime.
After all, Jaime may well be a demon. But at least he's a demon who knows not to yell and bothers to look human.

"Places in the sky?" After all, they themselves are in the sky.

Man it is hard explaining this when he didn't know if Chaucer understood how the brain functioned.
"They were evil--most of them--and had their own agenda that they were willing to hurt and kill us for. But they need to feed on something they had near the pool they lived in--and it's gone now. And without it, they'll die and free our crew-mates in three days. They'll be themselves again."

"And there are the celestial spheres, but there's another layer to it beyond that - each act and decision and falling leaf branches time like a tree. Compound the two, and you can get all sorts of crazy shit."
The strange thing? It's probably... his teeth. They seem kind of rather more full than they were before, smaller and sharper and more numerous.

He understood at least most of what Jaime said, and had started to say, "So you're people from the future and from other worlds, but not demonic ones, though there are slugs who can posse--" before his thoughts got too confused and he frowned again.
"Spheres, m'lords?"
This really must be what it felt like to be Roland or Wat. It almost made him feel guilty for teasing them.

He may mean 'dolt' in an affectionate way. It's not very clear.

Either he believes it - which he might, it's as likely as being in a sky ship at all - or he thinks they're both crazy. Not even Geoffrey himself knows precisely which it is.

His eyebrows furrow.
"I don't think they wanted slaves, necessarily. From what Ax said, they need them as soldiers and workers to capture more slaves, but I think they wanted us, to enslave us or kill who would stop them, just because they didn't want to live in the dark anymore. They just didn't care that it left us trapped or dead instead."
The corner of his mouth quirks. "To have lives worth living, they had to take or steal ours. I kinda feel bad for them, to be honest."

"Pardon, m'lord, I did not mean to imply they wanted us as slaves. To them, we must be more vessel than slave, horse than servant. A tool needed for certain activity but otherwise just an animal."
He pauses, head tilting as he considers how to properly voice his thoughts.
"What I did not understand is why they would want to use people such as we, who are enslaved and unlikely, even under their command, to escape?"
