Doctor doctor, gimme the news
After the meeting, and after some bickering with the Emergency Medical Hologram, down at the bottom of the Hub, Brainy is arranging the MedBay to his liking and familiarizing himself with the medical equipment and its functions.
Right now, for instance, as anyone walks in the door, he's wearing some sort of scanning goggles and a rather sinister-looking surgical glove with micro-scalpels, little lasers and surgical saws on the fingertips.
This makes him look like a green-faced Freddy Krueger with mad scientist goggles. For anyone that walks in like he instructed him to at the meeting, this is the first thing they see.
"Hmmmm."

Brainy's omnicom simply hmmphs at her. It's too snobbish to speak to her. the medical equipment, which is meant to be helpful and heal things chirps in multiple "hi"s. The rest of the equipment is organic in nature.
As this is after running into Zuko and Allen, resonating from Brainy, on the other hand, is a cold, suppressed, stifled feeling of loneliness. There is nothing in his expression that betrays that he's feeling it.

"Oh. Okay. I'm pretty sure I don't have anything weird going on with my biology. I used to have kind of a super-healing thing, for a while, but I gave it up with my friends a while ago because this little boy needed it more. But I still haven't gotten sick much since I became a Guardian."
Unfortunately for him, Will is a perceptive girl . . . but fortunately, she is also a fairly shy one. So she asks the friendlier things in the room for confirmation instead.
Is he okay? He feels kinda upset.

The tissue regenerator chimes in, He is a tool!
Oblivious, Brainy goes on, "It would perhaps be prudent to verify."

But then she'd have to admit to talking to machines, and that might be a little weird. Even if this guy is green like a Meridianite.
"Okay. What should I do?"
no subject
"Step on the circle on the floor right here."

As she stands, she picks at the material of her plantsuit. "I hope we get some regular clothes soon."
The plantsuit's okay, but it makes her knees look even knobblier than usual.

He starts his scans.

He must be upset. He's using way too few words, she thinks.
no subject
If anything on the scan interests him, his expression doesn't betray that either.

She pauses, as she waits for the results.
"So . . .? What does it say?"
no subject
"You're putting off prodigious amounts of quantum probability energy."
no subject
He's going to make fun of me, isn't he? she asks the machines.
no subject
He pinches the bridge of his nose.
"How do I explain this?" He goes on, "You are infused with enough magical energy to give the average pixie an acute and likely deadly overdose."
no subject
A pause, as she thinks of the glamours that come with her guardian form.
"You, um, knew that was me, right? We talked about magic . . . you were afraid I was going to turn someone into a catperson . . ."
no subject
"And apparently there's a psionically-based illusion component. Grife."
Has it been mentioned that he hates magic?
no subject
A secret which has been busted all over the place here, much to Will's discredit. Still, what could she do? There were enormous evil cockroaches everywhere.
"Anyway, I don't think that's ME that's giving off all the magic. It's probably the Heart of Kandrakar."
She lifts one hand, and a glowing orb of what reads on the scanner as pure quantum probability energy appears, attached to a chain looped around her wrist.
"I'm not all that magical without it." Her jaw is set in a determined line. "But I've been its keeper for nearly a year now, and nobody can take it away from me without my permission."
no subject
"Why anyone would want it is beyond me. Magic is uncontrollable and completely nonsensical."
no subject
Duh. Aren't you supposed to be the smart one, Brainy? The Heart vanishes in a flash of light and Will crosses her arms.
"But that's why it has a Guardian. So that nobody can do that." She glares at him sternly. The presence of her Guardian form is absent in her normal one, but she scolds him with her expression as if this were not the case. "And believe me, they've tried."
And failed! So there!
no subject
MAGIC IS CRAZY.
no subject
"That's not how it works. Why are you making fun of my magic? What is your problem?"
no subject
His problem is that he needs something annoying to fixate on to ignore everything bothering him.
