Extreme Like Soup Exploding! [LAB SAFETY DAY]

This was it, the day that Instructors Callahan and Cranston had been anticipating (and perhaps, on Mr. Cranston's part, dreading). This afternoon, in a Sensorium-created laboratory, their students would be learning laboratory safety protocol and putting it into practice.

As students enter and receive greetings from Billy, they'll notice the main features of the laboratory if they choose to look around. A desk sits in the front of the room with boxes of supplies piled on it. In the middle sits a mysterious boiling pot. One one side of the room sits an eye wash station that shouldn't be needed today. Long work tables stretch from the front of the room to the rear, surrounded by simple stools, and a white cabinet sits to the side of the room, opened to reveal hair ties, gloves, and goggles.

Behind the desk sits a chalkboard, where Billy has written a list of paired names. Feel free to react in dismay or horror at your lab partners, students, but your instructors won't be budging. They have their reasons. When everyone arrives and is seated, they'll begin.

After processing all this, there might be another question on their minds---where's Wyn disappeared to? Students unfortunate enough to fail to arrive on time will soon find out...

((And the nightmare begins! Start tagging in the first few subthreads, team. If you're not already on the lab partner list but would still like to participate, feel free to contact Kuroi or Zoki on AIM or comment to this post, and we'll set you up. Have fun!))

Vega slouches his way into the lab, looks up at the chalk board, and finds a place to plunk himself down on a stool. He swings his legs as he waits on the others to show up. He can work with Sherry, but he still has to clobber Yuri and Roxie somehow later.

He's never had a chemistry lesson before. Granted, he's a tetch young, but school classes for Backdraft children aren't quite the same.

Sherry left Roxie behind with Billy, and scurried over to join Vega. "You came!" Well, color her impressed, she didn't even have to hunt him down and drag him in or anything. Good job, Vega!

"Yeah, well, I had to," says Vega, shrugging a little bit.

"Do you know what we're doing today?" he asks. Vega's not too sure about anything schooling. Schooling is usually boring. It's part of how life works.

Sherry shrugged, "Well, at least you came willingly." But, you, Mr. Obscura, don't have superpowers, or a tentahat, so she would've found you and dragged you behind her, kicking and screaming. "I think we're going to be doing Lab Safety, so it might be a little boring, but it'll be important for future classes. You know... so we don't end up setting Stacy on fire accidentally."

Vega siiiiiighs. He's not looking forward to this. He can see it already, "safety" anything means being bossed around a lot by a bunch of adults and told not to do anything fun.

"Alright," he says grudgingly. "But I don't think she can catch on fire."

"It'll get better," she promises. "And just about anything can be burnt, you know." It's a little morbid piece of information Sherry unhelpfully has on file, thanks the Raccoon City. "But if you slack off, so help me, Vega, I will beat you up."

Education was important!
