It had been a while after her fight with Kara and Sofia was still feeling the effects. The small bruise on her lung had healed but her two of her ribs were still broken, and there wasn't much to do for them other than rest. And pain medication. To be honest, she was a little out of it from the medicine, but well enough for any visitors that might happen by the medbay. They would be a most welcome distraction. It wasn't like she could do much of anything here.
04:50 pm - Here I Go Again
There was somebody rocking out in the Media Library. Depending on when a person was stopping by, they would either be greeted with Dean drumming on any surface he can as AC/DC blasted loudly from his headphones. Or there was the sight of him glued to a screen watching Whitesnake's Here I Go Again music video. Yes, the hot one with Tawny Kitaen dancing on lead singer David Coverdale's Jaguar and looking smoking in lingerie. Definitely one of Dean's personal favorite videos, and if he was thinking anybody else stepping in for the lovely Kitaen to do a similar number on his Impala, he ain't talking. Still he was singing along, and tapping his feet so he had to stand out some in the normally quiet room.

Sorry to anybody (including geeky little brothers) who were happening to do research or a quiet read at the same time.
It isn't that Kaylee is bored, or in need of something to do--there is plenty to do in Engineering, really, and many ways she could keep herself occupied just with working on Serenity--but sometimes, one just needed a little time to relax. A peaceful atmosphere. Good music. Great company.

A luau, to be more exact. Kaylee had spent time aplenty in debating what kind of environment would be fun and relaxing at the same time. This right here is something people from the Border planets can only really dream of, something they might think about when the sun is hot and the dirt is dry. A beach, extending far enough to disappear behind rocky cliffs further off. An ocean, blue waves rolling in and out. An orange sunset, just over the horizon. A little bar, just enough that one could find a colorful drink, something fresh and full of coconut, with a nice little umbrella. Lounge chairs, towels, beach toys, music--whatever Kaylee could think up, it's right there on the beach.

Anyone who enters will automatically be placed in the appropriate party gear. Swimsuits are a must, and if you're going to skip those, you're going to be stuck with a nice grass skirt (and possibly a coconut bra...).
Today was different. Today wasn't about exploring the ship, keeping in shape, or trying to learn more about the Ohm. No, today was about indulging in one of her favorite pastimes - racing through the canyons outside Crevasse City on her classic JR-4 swoop. The fate of Alderaan and the upcoming battle against the Ohm had been weighing heavily on Reyna of late, and she felt in dire need of a distraction.

So it was that she found herself in one of the Sensoriums using her memories of home to conjure up the appropriate terrain, her swoop, and an attractive racing outfit to temporarily replace her plantsuit. Once everything was ready Reyna pulled on her helmet and mounted the swoop. She revved the engine a few times to get a feel for the controls, grinning as it all came flooding back to her, then sealed the helmet's visor and took off at breakneck speed for the nearest canyon.

Her heart pounding with excitement and adrenaline surging in her veins, Reyna weaved her way in and out of each gorge and ravine, climbing and diving and twisting and turning with reckless abandon. The knowledge that she was in no actual danger of getting hurt was lost in the thrill of the ride, and the feeling of flirting with disaster only heightened Reyna's enjoyment of it. She came bursting out of one particularly deep canyon at the last second, whooping with joy at the narrowly averted crash.

She ended her run with a quick dash across a nearby lake before circling back to her starting point at a leisurely pace. Leaving the swoop idling beneath her, Reyna took off her helmet and tucked it under her arm, laughing and smiling as she shook her short brown hair away from her face.

[OOC: All are welcome! Feel free to join Reyna for a wild ride on her swoop, race against her, just hang out and chat, etc. Basically whatever sounds like fun that you can convince Reyna to participate in.]
