New and Interesting Smells [Open]

Bella's been exploring since she's been given freedom to roam a zombieless ship again. Lots of strange new places to investigate, to smell, to look at.

Mostly to smell.

The werewolf's wandering all over the ship, investigating new smells and refamiliarizing herself with the conglomerate scent of "crew", now that it has a few new members.

It's also helping her relax. They're here with her. She is not alone. They're like a sort of almost-pack, and that helps her hold on. Things will be okay as long as she isn't alone. Her thoughts are a little agitated still, but she's adapting and moving on.

To anyone else's eyes, there's a wolf wandering around without any sign of a collar or other restraint. She seems calm.

Javert, also prone to wandering, knew enough to recognize a member of his team out and about. He had never been much of a socializing man, but he had enough manners to stop and nod hello. After all, as far as his team went, he very nearly liked Bella.

Bella recognizes her team's leader and wags, lowering her head as he acknowledges her.

"How are you, Sir?" she says, wagging a little bit. Bella likes Javert as well as Bella really likes anybody on the ship. He is Alpha of the team, so she listens to him.

He makes a rough noise in the back of his throat, weighing his response. She's his subordinate; he need not trouble her with his dilemmas.

"I am well." He pulls long-unused social skills into service. "I trust you are, as well?" He sounds stiff and awkward, asking.

"Yes," Bella nods. It's a strange movement for the wolf, but she's picked it up. "I have a new axe but I do not have a suit anymore because of the monsters. I am all healed now though."

Bella's job in life is very simple. As long as she can successfully beat the hell out of anything threatening her and the people she's loyal to, she's happy.

"Good. I prefer to have my team at full strength." Javert's goals reside somewhere close to Bella's; as long as he can preform his duty, he's content. This is likely the reason he respects Bella; he understands her.

"Is Plays-In-Traffic well? He was injured in the battle and very sad," she says, remembering. He's part of her almost-pack too, after all.

"He's healed. I make no promises as to his mental health." Javert harrumphed quietly. "Isn't that the truth for all of us." He muttered.

"I try not to worry very much," says Bella helpfully, wagging once. "I miss my pack. If they are here then they are safe and maybe I will see them again. If they are not here... I do no good for the Crew if I waste time being sad."

It's a little hard for her to say it but she means it. She misses her pack, but even missing her pack is no reason to lay down and give up.

He looks down at her, considering. "A commendable outlook. I hope others share it."

Would that everyone was as straightforward as Bella.
