I have to admit, it's getting better

Asuka felt ecstatic. She'd gone down to the hangar in the dim hope that she might be able to find her Eva. It had taken her a while, of drifting through the multitude of vehicles, hoping to catch a glance of a familiar shade of red. And she had. When she'd seen it, she'd let out a whoop of joy and pushed off of the wall, shooting up to it's shoulder (the zero-g had taken her a while to get used to, though).

It was locked in place, staring out over the hangar. She settled on the shoulder with a grin, legs dangling as she leaned against it's neck. For some reason, it's presence just made her feel better. Safer. Like she could handle everything that was being tossed at her. She almost wanted to crawl inside it just now, but her plugsuits were stashed back in her new (admittedly spartan) room.Besides, now she was invincible. She had her Eva. When she was in it, nothing could stop her.

Nothing at all.

Really. She was just a girl who knew how to pilot a very big destructive machine. That was all.

"One needs very little to get by. So very little." It was really all Alessa could see.

Alessa paused. "I said quite plainly what I meant. Did you not hear me? You want small things. Appreciation. Praise. Human approval."

She shrugged. "Your needs are small."

"You're very bad at confrontation," the little girl replied. "Is that how you deal with things? You throw your anger around, or you dismiss it? Interesting. You will be easy then."

The little girl stopped loooking curious now, and looked a little annoyed now. "I don't get dismissed by something as insignificant as you. All you are is a little girl with a new toy."

She looked back up at the Eva. "But I can definitely use this. Yes."

Profanity. That was new, though not particularly engaging. It was really the tone that annoyed her. She turned to the girl now, and her voice became a little different: deeper and definitely malicious.

"Talk to me like that again, and see what happens to you. I'll make sure your worse nightmare comes to life."

She chuckled. "Oh, not YOURS. It looks so red and ugly. But I will make my own, specifically for Silent Hill."

At this point, Alessa had to start laughing, and for a moment, Asuka got a glimpse of what Silent Hill was: she could see the creepy monsters, the rusting, twisted metal and the scary intoning.

"I never said I was a human."

Alessa smiled at her. "What indeed. Have fun with your angel fighting Eva."

And Alessa skipped away, feeling strangely better than usual since being on the ship.
