From Dusk Till Dawn...

...Okay, so maybe that movie was about vampires and not zombies.

But as the battle in the Vatican dragged on, it might feel like it had been going just that long.

And it showed no signs of letting up just yet.

Kirk had sent Loren to look for volunteers to help the rear guard and the medbay was her first stop. She had opened the door to the medbay just as everyone started firing at the hag creature.

"Holy %$#%!"

"$#!%" Scarlet jumped up as everyone moved at once, her initial instincts to shoot the thing that was screaming. She was, however, able to pick up on all the action around her, so instead she took up a defensive stance to protect the person she had been cleaning up, her gun out and trained on the devil-woman.

When Loren came in through the door, she spared the woman a glance, gesturing with one hand back the way she'd come.

"A little girl just ran out of here, blond hair, named Sherry. Go find her! We've got this." She could prioritize, even in a crisis. The kids were priority one, here. And while none of the others had been able to get out, initially, she could see the doors had been cleared up now.

"MADRE DE CHRISTO, SON OF A-"

Luis whips his Red9 out from his belt and joins in with the shooting, trying to keep the old bitch pinned down or at least to where she can't swallow any souls all that easily.

At the back of his mind, he hears Leon's voice and sees his fist ready to knock his teeth out for letting Sherry get away, but the sad fact was, the little girl was priority #2 at the moment.

"Grab that arm and... kill it, or something!"

"Arm! Got it," Lois repeats, pulling out her gun and aiming. She's not a perfect shot, by any means, but she knows how to handle a weapon and aim.

After the arm she goes. Bang, bang.

"Oh, so it's to be like that, is it?" While the shots aren't harming her as far as he can tell, Jamie hopes that they're slowing her down enough so what he wants to do will work. Because, if this doesn't work? He's in a world of trouble.

As multiple people try to keep the old woman pinned down, he brings his other hand over onto the claymore and switches his grip to a two-handed one. There is no battle cry this time - he wants to be as quiet as he can.

He starts to run once more. When he is close enough, he puts all his strength in a focused attack in an attempt to sever the monstrosity's head from its shoulders. It's the best shot he has...but will it be enough?
