From Dusk Till Dawn...
...Okay, so maybe that movie was about vampires and not zombies.
But as the battle in the Vatican dragged on, it might feel like it had been going just that long.
And it showed no signs of letting up just yet.

It's subtle, in all the chaos, but it's there.

"Sonovabitch!" Leela cries, drawing her hand back from where it was, too close to the opening. Her shoulder still pressed against the door, she pulls a large, bloody splinter from her pinky.
It's not a bite, at least?
Later on, she'll be immensely grateful she didn't suck on the wound.
"If we don't get backup in the next minute, we're going to have to fall back, and try to seal up the entrances into the basilica proper!"

Then something dark seeped in through the cracks in the door, in front of the people holding it shut, immediately forming into the runner from before, panting heavily. Oddly enough, wearing clothes that were not the plant suit, but some black tunic. "Got a minute as they fight over the plant suit," he panted. "They eat it up, and blasted some of them away. Don't let up on the door! They'll start trying to get in again soon. I'll slip back out in a few minutes."
He was getting tired. Very tired. He'd been fighting for a while and with no Dark Mirror, his power was limited. And he could only get in through the back. They were too much fire near the front.

God her finger is stinging like a bitch, throbbing and all, but she doesn't pay any attention to it for now.

"Hoo-boy, I think I preferred the view on the other side," he quips, bounding over to the splintering door.
He holds out his hands and gums up the Sacristy door with a long, concentrated blast from his web shooters.
"That should keep 'em busy for a while, but we ought to get some weight behind it. Any more plumbing you need blocking?"

Then he pulled his hand back. "It's a bit more difficult, but I can manage it."
