What dreams may come [Open, bendytimed to before GTFO plot]

In her sealed, silent, sensory-deprived meditation room, Roxie is sleeping. It's a special sleep: for all dreams are connected, she knows, and by spinning her mind out along the web of thought, she might step into others...

[Roxie is dream-hopping, getting a look at the subconsciousnesses of the other people on the ship. So, how it works - if you're interested, go ahead and post with a dream your character is having, and Roxie will slip into it, subtle at first but more obvious as she tries to satisfy her curiosity. Just her being around will make the dreamer more lucid and more likely to remember the whole thing when they wake up.

Also, feel free to ask any OOC questions in a thread here, or poke me on AIM at 'anagramarye'.]

It took some effort, but Ax managed to stop moving toward his stricken Prince. Further effort allowed him to tear his eyes away from the same sight and focus them on the bird that didn't belong.

< I have had this dream before, > he said. < This is the first time any life has appeared in it besides myself and my Prince. Furthermore, if I were going to insert additional life into this dream, it would not be an Earth species of bird which I am not familiar with. I'm done being polite. Leave! >

He arched his tail over his head, but didn't strike at the bird yet.

Ax didn't flinch. He was a warrior, an Andalite warrior; he'd face death and worse than death hundreds of times, he wasn't going to be afraid of an odd bird with strange thought-speak.

He was so glad that it was leaving.

< I am an alien, > he said quietly. Reminding himself why he'd done what he had done that made him suffer through this nightmare over and over. < I could not have asked him to give that order. I had to be the one to do it. >

The problem with dream logic was that it was entirely possible here to be both an Andalite warrior and a human child at the same time.

Ax watched the bird disappear down into the pit that had formerly been the Yeerk Pool. Content that it was gone for the moment, Ax focused his oh-so-slowly slipping lucidity into trying to wake up.
