Newbie Meet N' Greet
Meet n' Greet, smell my feet, gimme something good to eat! Unfortunately, the newbie meet and greet takes place the same time the command staff is congregating, so they might be a little late to the party.
But the crew is there to welcome the newcomers and explain their situation. At the end of the milling and spilling about, the command staff is going to start a general meeting to apprise everyone of their situation and discuss their next course of action:
Getting off the damn ship.

He continues to grin, half-smug, half self-effacing.
"That first part might be an exaggeration, but the brilliant motherfucker bit is true. Here, I'm just Co-head of Engineering. Did you get your Omnicom yet?"

"No, I haven't gotten that yet. Would it even make sense if you told me what it was? Or what agency, or company, or whatever runs this place is? Because if you're Co-head of Engineering, that would mean there are other departments. And if there are other departments, there must be some level or organization here. Which would point to a leader or set of leaders." It was several jumps in logic, and she knew that. But the more she talked and figured out, the more she could rationalize the situation. At least, that was the hope.

He waits to see how she'll react to that. Especially the "Picard" part.

He prefers science for defense, but - yeah.
"Look, you've got a lot of questions, and me, I'd love to answer them, but we're all short on answers. Even the ship brains."
There's a small device like a PDA or a handheld computer in his hand, and he holds it out for her inspection.
"Brainy, Billy Cranston and I designed these for shipwide communication. They're omnicoms. Think of them as internet that only applies to everyone else on Stacy. I'm pretty sure Billy's handing them out over there -" he gestures towards the kid - "so if you could use something to record your thoughts and questions on, get your hands on one. I can't guarantee that your entries won't be hacked if you private them - too many brilliant motherfuckers on this ship - but I can guarantee I'll know who did it."

He pauses a moment before reaching out to put her hand on her shoulder. "Hey. If you're freaked out, don't feel like you need to hide it from everybody around you. We all flip out from time to time."
