Reflection [Open]

Ryuunosuke shivered as the water beat down on him.  He'd configured the sensorium to arrange a waterfall for him to sit under, in a meditative stance. This whole place was ridiculous. No sentai to protect it? No Lord and comrade? No Gedoushuu? (No, that's just crazy talk. Evil is everywhere. It must just be hiding.) He felt unhinged.

He wasn't a leader by any stretch of the imagination. He could take charge when Takeru was missing, but that was a matter of duty. Totally cut off like this, he was completely disoriented.

And there was that horrid crow. Talking like that in front of an innocent child.

He sighed and looked up, then started sputtering and fell over as water poured down his throat.

Ryuunosuke nodded, practically beaming. "Yes! And also a special bow, and giant magical robots when necessary." He tilted his head. "When exactly is 'your' time? My comrades and I inhabit the year 2009, by global reckoning, if that's what you mean."

Yuri was, if possible, even more astonished. "Wow! You're like a sentai, but real! Can you show me? Please?" Then she remembered his question. "I'm from 2016...But it's a different 2016 I think, since there's no aliens in Japan in anyone else's time."

Ryuu puffed up his chest. "Heh!" He allowed himself a satisfied chuckle. "Not 'like', ojousan, I AM a sentai! One of the samurai ordained by providence, Samurai Sentai.." He stroke a pose. "Shinkenger!"

Then there was an awkward pause. "Except... I can't transform right now." He pouted. "This ship took away my shodophone."

"Oh! Oh oh..." Yuri was practically bouncing with the wish to be helpful. "If you ask Stacy-san, she will let you have a virtual...sho-do-fo-ne." It didn't parse into any word she knew. "And you get it back when you go on missions."

Ryuu seems to light up at that possibility. "You think so? Stacy-san!!" He calls out. "Could I please have a copy of my shodophone? Just for now please?"

A moment later, one appears in his hand, and he has to do his best not to let out a girlish squeal of delight. He hands Yuri back the towel, then backs up. "With these brush-strokes, we report to the emperor!" A paintbrush section emerges from the phone, and he draws the character for water, which appears in glowing blue energy in mid-air. It wraps around him, and he is transformed into his uniform.

"ShinkenBlue, Ikenami Ryuunosuke!"
