Reflection [Open]

Ryuunosuke shivered as the water beat down on him.  He'd configured the sensorium to arrange a waterfall for him to sit under, in a meditative stance. This whole place was ridiculous. No sentai to protect it? No Lord and comrade? No Gedoushuu? (No, that's just crazy talk. Evil is everywhere. It must just be hiding.) He felt unhinged.

He wasn't a leader by any stretch of the imagination. He could take charge when Takeru was missing, but that was a matter of duty. Totally cut off like this, he was completely disoriented.

And there was that horrid crow. Talking like that in front of an innocent child.

He sighed and looked up, then started sputtering and fell over as water poured down his throat.

Will prefers the Sensoriums to the rest of the ship, and occasionally she slips into someone else's sim by accident, like she does now.

"Sorry, I didn't know anyone was here."

She pauses as she watches the other person choking on a waterfall.

"Are you okay?"

"Um - no problem." Will wasn't used to this much politeness, so she shrugged. "It's my fault for intruding. Um - am I interrupting something?"

For all she knew, he required ABSOLUTE SOLITUDE for intense meditational training or . . . something.

Yuri had definitely wanted to try the new game they'd worked out, making new ice cream flavors. They'd all been mildly surprised by Stacy's ability to turn abstract concepts and feelings into flavors (less, though, than adults would have been). 'Warm pajamas on a cold night', for instance, tasted exactly like that feeling and not some weak attempt at approximation with too much butter and cinnamon-sugar. She carried a little paper in her plant!pocket that had a list of the things she was gonna try then report on to the other kids.

She was, in fact, so excited by the idea that the grotto she found herself in took her completely by surprise. Moss clung to slippery rocks, air was moist with cold mountain water. Pines bent on the rocks. It was a scene that reminded her of camping trips she'd taken when she was younger (that same roar heard through the walls of her miniature tent she'd been exiled to as she checked every square inch of it for icky bugs).

And there was a figure under the waterfall, soaked to the bone in a way that she'd heard some of the older girls describe as 'totally dreamy'.

She bowed deeply. "I'm very sorry Ryuunosuke-san, I didn't mean to disturb your meditation." She said in her most polite Japanese.

Yuri shook her head. "I haven't encountered him since." Then to the walls: "Stacy-san, may I have a towel please?" Instantly maximum fluffness dropped into her hands, which she held out to him. "Is Ryuunosuke-san a monk?"

Yuri blushed in astonishment. "That's so cool! You don't see things like that too often in my time...Wait, a samurai? Does that mean you fight with a sword?" She'd heard the word used in recruitment posters for the alien party: Be a modern samurai! But did he mean the same thing?

Yuri was, if possible, even more astonished. "Wow! You're like a sentai, but real! Can you show me? Please?" Then she remembered his question. "I'm from 2016...But it's a different 2016 I think, since there's no aliens in Japan in anyone else's time."

"Oh! Oh oh..." Yuri was practically bouncing with the wish to be helpful. "If you ask Stacy-san, she will let you have a virtual...sho-do-fo-ne." It didn't parse into any word she knew. "And you get it back when you go on missions."
