Apologize [Closed to Prisoners]

Sam had spent several days in his cell in the precinct, along with the people that had stood by him during the fight over the Yeerk. He'd talked a little with the others, been visited by Cybil, interrogated by Javert, and preached to by Daimon. But most of Sam Winchester's time was eaten up by his thoughts, his conscience descending over him like a shroud and blanketing him waves of guilt, remorse and regret. He'd caused all of this.

He still felt Schmuz was dangerous. He still felt the Yeerk had to die. But all of that was becoming less and less important as he was reminded over and over again--by his own conscience--that he had caused people to be hurt, and he could have potentially caused even more to be hurt. He'd gotten this group of people mixed up in something that was likely to have long-lasting consequences for each of them. It was a mess, and he'd caused all of it.

Pushing himself to his feet, he hobbled the short journey from his cot to the bars that held him in his cell and rested his weight on them, pressing his face against the cold metal cylinders.

"I'm sorry," he said, loud enough for all of his fellow prisoners to hear him. "I'm sorry I got you guys mixed up in this."

If you tag in, please keep this to one continuous thread. Thank you :D

Ronon was dying of boredom in his cell and was hoping for anything to happen. But he wasn't expecting an apology for getting involved in trying to kill the Yeerk. In fact, Ronon didn't think that Sam should have to be sorry for the fact they were all in prison.

"We chose to fight and we tried what we could. How else did you think it was going to end?"

"Hey, I always get mixed in things like this. I'm a mixey kind of guy. There's a threat, we gotta deal with it." Xander shrugged from his cell. He's sorry people got hurt instead of the Yeerk. But he likewise still thought the brain slug should have been slayed weeks ago.

"Who says you get to be the burden of the ship?" Katara interrupted from her cell. "That's hardly fair. You're not all powerful, you can't stop an entire precinct from enforcing rules and tricking you. Face it Sam: we weren't meant to get the Yeerk, and we didn't. People got hurt because we wouldn't accept that: its why we're here now."

Katara's eyes hardened. "Instead, we have to think of the future. If there's one thing I learned from all of this, its that the illusion of control is really important on this ship, and that's going to be a strong point for each of us. All of us here learned something pretty important: it only takes a little bit before things turn chaotic, and we have to be the calm in that storm."

She leaned back, her head resting against her arms. "When the enemy attacks, people are all the matter. The enemy goes down, or we at least die trying. Isn't that a lesson worth remembering?"

The dreams were definitely getting worse.
