from toys to trains to videogames...[OPEN to the underagers and anyone who wants to help guard them]
All told the Sensorium wasn't a bad place to be holed up in by any means. It offered fantastical adventures to every corner of the imagination, certainly. Any kind of amusement a kid could want was here: colorful rainbow castles filled with gentle princesses and brave knights, giant platform videogames where you yourself could be the one jumping on monster's heads and dodging falling blocks, amusement parks and ice creams, paintball and petting zoos.
But that wasn't the point. The point was that the adults were doing something important and they were doing it without them. And here they'd been ordered to stay in the sensoriums. Things were happening!
Yuri and her fellow kids debated what they should use the chamber for loudly as they awaited the arrival of their guardian(s).

Then again, it isn't so bad. Kon likes kids, and essentially he's supposed to lead them on a little playdate to keep them distracted. Kon is good at making up stories and little adventures--and with a working holodeck-thing, the possibilities are endless.
Much as he's mentally grumbling, he's secretly fond of the little buggers, and doesn't mind babysitting at all, but he'd never admit it. That'd damage his whole cool factor.
"And lo! The ground shook and there was a mighty roar that sounded through the heavens, as the Kon Monster approached!"

He dangles from a webline above the terrifying and nefarious Abercrombie & Fitch model stomping around underneath.
"Somebody get me a Super Sonic cheat code, stat!"
no subject
"They'll NEVER find the codes!" Kon says, shaking a fist at the wallcrawler. "You can't defeat me, Spider-Man!"
Well, except for the whole part where he did in the crossover...no subject
Instead, he's decided to do something that neither side could possibly hold against him - head up to the sensoriums and keep an eye on the kids. "The Kon-monster, huh?" Somehow, despite the facial scars, it is indeed possible for him to look friendly and non-threatening - as he's proving now.

Well, Leon had promised he'd be careful, and told her not to worry. She could trust that
he was too badass to diehe would probably keep his promise. And while Claire hadn't necessarily needed to go with him, she was probably curious and concerned. Sherry swallowed and looked down at her feet. She just had to be patient. If she were patient long enough, her parents would come back in one piece and she would laugh at herself for worrying in the first place. It was a pleasant fantasy.

Arms folded ungirlishly, she glances over at Sherry.

"What do you guys wanna do?" he asks.

and probably break her footto do it, if she had to. "It's kind of insulting, really."no subject
But she's planning to go try and kill the Yeerk later if it's still alive, anyway, and she doesn't like working where she'd be in the spotlight.

"We should give 'em the slip," he whispers conspiratorially. An adventure right now would be SO AWESOME.
"Anybody got anything we can use to distract 'em?"
Vega knows all about sneaking out under the radar. He's done it in Backdraft bases his whole life.

Let's go with the thing that YJ always demanded and always seemed to work best: honesty.
"Listen, that brain-slug thing people were talking about? Did a lot of bad things, but also did some not-so-bad things. So a lot of people are all torn up on how to deal with it. There was a trial and they found it guilty and they're putting it in sluggy jail, but other people on the ship think the only safe thing is to kill it, and they know at least one person was gonna try to take it out of the picture for good. So, there could be a big, dangerous, scary, not-exciting-at-all fight going on down there. And they want you all to stay up here so you don't get hurt. We're here to make sure you stay up here, because we're talking scary guns and stuff, possibly, not like the movies. People being stupid and other people getting really hurt because of it."

"I just wish I had my Zoid. I could stop everybody from fighting. You've gotta be real stupid to try to fight a Zoid when you don't have one."
no subject
At Vega's mention of his Zoid, though, Gauron's ears perk up - he'd almost forgotten the kid was a mech pilot. He can use that. "I don't know - there might just be someone down there who's strong enough to take your Zoid on. Since we're in the sensoriums anyway, why don't you show me what it can do?"

Sherry didn't like Kon's explanation, not at all. It wasn't a question of who had big guns, but her dad was down there, and if some idiot was trying to hurt him...
Well, she knew her strengths and weaknesses. They just didn't happen to lie behind a weapon. "I just want to go home and make sure my parents are okay. This is... taking way too long." It wasn't a lot to ask. What if her worries had ground to stand on? The butterflies in the little girl's stomach fluttered wildly. Sherry drew up all four feet and eight inches of her and crossed her arms.

She listened as little sub-conversations bubbled around her. The boy was unafraid, to which the grizzled man issued a veiled challenge. Roxie was as usual all mysterious things and snark. Kon offered an explanation which was as usual followed up by something amusingly silly from Mr. Spiderman.
Then there was a contradiction: Go home then make sure her parents are ok? But she said Mr. Leon and Ms. Redfield are her parents...
So to the two sillier adults: "But noone will tell me what exactly it did. What did it do that makes everyone so angry?" And a pause. "Well...If we do play monopoly it should be on a giant board."

Her gaze slides back to Gauron, though. His thoughts on the subject of the Yeerk seem to echo hers.
