A House Divided [Part 2]

[Instructions: Here.]

The fighting begins in earnest, as bystanders get dragged in, have to duck out of the way, or join in to help out, but with more people entering the fray, there's even more chaos.

Buildings have been cracked, a nearby fountain has been smashed, causing water to pour over the ground and make things even more of a mess.

Can anyone, Security or the Conspirators, keep the situation under control?

Tim's eyebrows go up, and he grins a little, taking out his staff and expanding it. He twirls it idly around in his hands. "Who, me? I'm just standing here."

Danny blocks it with an ectoplasmic shield.

"You really think that I'm that stupid? That I see the world in black and white constantly? Cause in case you hadn't noticed, you're the one assuming something's evil because other members of it's species happened to be."

Rob cursed as Obi-Wan was knocked off balance. Clearly, reason was not an option any longer. He tossed his shield aside, prayed that he wasn't about to commit suicide, and leaped onto Bella's back, hooking his baton around her throat and hanging on for dear life. She might be big and scary, but even she can't stay conscious without oxygen, right?

Tobias wished he could stop the missle, but it was too fast, obviously. If he were a peregrine falcon, maybe, but no way a hawk could. Ax's tail blade would need to do the trick.

< I do understand the battle going on. 've fought these ceatures for the last three years and killed more than I can count. I've wanted to kill them at times, believe me. Especially the one who attacked my father. It's hard to know *what* to do. But I'm sticking to doing only what I have to. > He knew it was hard to reason with someone like this though. < I just don't wan to turn to taking lives when I'm not left with no choice. >

< Ax, I think I'm going to morph. It'll be safer. with so much happening...and I could really use Andalite eyes. > He was able to take advantage of the chaos to begin growing and changing, becoming Ax's twin. Now he could keep an eye all around him at once, and hopefully be more help in the fight.

Katara smiled. So he had a shield too. Well, that was to be expected.

"So the better option would be to let it stay imprisoned until it got loose again? Yeah, I think I'll take my chances making sure something like it doesn't exist. But if you're fine with a parasite crawling around in your head controlling you, best of luck. In my world, they take adavaantage of things like that to hurt their enemies. I'm making sure that chance won;t happen...to ANYONE."

And the backdrop suddenly started to get colder. "I don't have to like it. But I AM going to do it."

Obi-Wan slid and stumbled, then regained his footing. Lurching sickeningly, Bella dropped back to the ground, but the Jedi wasn't done yet. Again he reached for the Force, held out one hand in a halting gesture and pushed, seeking to distract or destabilize the girl-turned-canine by bodily shoving her sideways across the ground.

With his other hand he reached and the Lightsaber came to his hand like a trained bird. A flip of the switch and it crackled to life, glowing a dangerous blue warning, "Watch it, now!"

She pauses and looks over her shoulder at him. "Then it's best you stay right there." She shakes her head and moves forward again.

"Well you're gonna have to try a LOT harder than you have been if you wanna."

Ax didn't have time to respond to Tobias' thought-speak. As soon as Sam bent to retrieve his weapon, he moved. He managed to dodge the rock salt -- barely -- and snapped his tail forward to try and knock the gun from Sam's hands.

< Stand down! >

That was it.

"FINE," Katara said, and blew on Danny. It seemed delicate, almost silly, but she froze him in place from body to foot, far more extensive than even what she did to Leon. A passing look came on her face (regret?), but she turned away. No. There was no time for this, no time to feel guilty even if she did and even if she'd been friendly with him before. He couldn't understand why she had to do this. He wanted to be the good guy.

And Katara knew full well even when you were, you didn't always get to stay that way. She had to GO.

Bella's claws scratch over the floor as she lands strangely on all fours with Rob hanging off her neck and finds herself shoved sideways. She shakes herself vigorously, trying to dislodge him while jumping back away from the strange thing in the bearded one's hand. She can tell a weapon when she sees one.

But what she wants is to get after Jo and kill the Yeerk.

She snarls as she tries to lose Rob, not thinking to use her hands to aid in it because she's simply not used to having hands.

And suddenly she's grabbed by Danny, despite the fact that the ghost boy was still entombed in ice.

"A for effort, F for execution."

Sam twisted his body to dodge the Anadalite's infamous tail-blade, managing to keep his shotgun in his hand but getting a nice gash on his arm in the process.

"No," he replied, his lips pursed together and his eyes narrowed with determination.

"Cheating doesn't count as execution!" Katara replied, refusing to be bothered by the fact that he should have been encased in ice. He may have been able to grab her, but that didn't mean that she had no weapon. She refused to let this boastful teenager get the best of her!

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. This was going to take intense concentration, and without her hands to guide it, not as accurate as she liked. Even Earth King Bumi had once said he could still earthbend because his face wasn't covered. Well, hers wasn't either, and she would simply have to have enough will to do this.

She closed her eyes and started to feel the air's humidity around her. Water was all around, and she felt her element almost reaching out to her now. She started to form the ice rock (not icicle, Katara wasn't cruel), and put her will into it. When she opened her eyes, she willed the impact to the back of his head.

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:33 am (UTC)(link)
If Sam wasn't going to stand down, Ax had nothing more to say him, and continued speech was wasted energy.

Tobias was still mid-morph, but Ax was more than capable of rendering one normal human unconscious. The gash on his arm was unfortunate, but Human Controllers had lost entire hands for shooting at him.

He snapped his tail forward again, this time aiming the flat of the blade for Sam's head -- his preferred method of rendering humans unconscious.

He keeps pace with her, staying in sight and in the way. His tone is almost apologetic when he speaks again. "You know, I don't really want to do this. I'm just trying to do the right thing here."

"OW! WHAT THE HELL?!" It hurts, but he's been hit by worse and kept fighting, so he's not going to be letting go just yet.

Katara wasn't free, and she was still angry, but an unexpected giggle came from her mouth, which she quickly tried to disperse immediately.

"Let me go! I have to do this!"

[identity profile] thenameissam.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Holding up his hands in an attempt to block, the sight of the Anadalite tail was the last thing Sam saw before he snapped his eyes shut waiting for the impact of the blade against his head. It was an impact that wouldn't come. The pressure he'd been under mixed with the adrenaline pumping through his veins and his stubborn determination to see the Yeerk die. Coalescing and combining with the instinct of self-preservation, they triggered something that hadn't been triggered in a long time.

A powerful burst of telekinetic energy erupted from Sam's outstretched hands and slammed into the Andalite.

[identity profile] vision-ya.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:43 am (UTC)(link)
Jonas was shocked, just shocked that the adults here were fighting among themselves. Really, just shocked.

"[Well, this mess certainly looks familiar,]" he muttered to himself, flying after Kate to put himself between those who were fighting and those who were fleeing.

[identity profile] mynameisax.livejournal.com 2009-09-10 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Ax, completely unprepared for telekinetic humans, went flying backward through the air and landed in an unconscious heap of tangled limbs.

"If you didn't want to do this, you simply wouldn't," Jean stated, keeping her gaze straight ahead. "You might think you're doing the right thing, but you're going about it the wrong way. You and your friends are going to end up hurting innocent crew members all because you think the Yeerk might end up hurting someone."

She glances at him out of the corner of her eye. "Please tell me how that is the right thing."

"NO!" Now Katara was starting to chuck bigger ice rocks, but was losing her focus. "I can't let that happen! If it got free..."

Katara closed her eyes, like she was struggling withs omething. "Please, just let me go! I can't let it get him!"

With Ax, surprisingly, now out of his way, Sam turned his attention back to the Yeerk and the shiny, metal football in which it lay. He charged through the crowd of battling people, weaving in and out, ensuring he never gave anyone a clear shot...ever. While he dashed back and forth, seemingly erratic in his movements, Sam had his sites on one thing and one thing only: the Yeerk in Jo's arms.

Seeing Bella occupied by Obi-Wan Kenobi, of all people, and Robert, as well as Danny Phantom fighting with some Asian girl riding a wave of water, Sam realized that he was the only one in the area to go after Jo. But, first, he'd have to stop her...or at least make her slow down.

Reaching into his side holster, Sam withdrew his chrome handled Beretta--loaded with silver rounds--aimed, and fired. The bullet struck the wall of a building next to Jo, several feet of where she was but also right in her path. It was a warning. A few seconds more and she likely would have been right in that spot.
