||Pod Release Protocols Initating,|| Stacy's familiar voice sounded out to all the podmates.

In the Pod Caverns, there were the sounds of: Pop. Pop pop pop. Poppuhpoppoppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiiiissssss.

There was condensation and mist spraying out from cracks in the pods, as the people inside slid out onto the floors, covered in slime.

Pop. Poppop. KASCHUNKhiiiiiissss.

The name was an unintelligible mess, even to someone who spoke more than one language. Kurt gave up on trying to spell it after the third syllable or so. "So, Stacy, do you like the movie Alien?" He didn't. A guy should be able to eat dinner without his stomach bursting. Please, no face huggers in this place.

Then the pustules lit close by his feet, and for a moment, he recoiled. Blisters filled with glowing goo were beyond sick. Well, he didn't have to step on them, right?

"Oh, yes, good movie." Kurt was just going to be agreeable. She could have claimed to like anything at this point, and he'd probably nod and smile. Could she see him doing those gestures, anyway? Somehow know what he was up too, mentally? If she could read minds.. well, she'd know he was uncertain about this. So what? He had plenty to be upset about.

"I suppose I should ask if there are any body-eating aliens or hostile replicants around here?" In other words, was he safe? He cautiously followed the lights, not quite willing to leave them now that they were here. It gave him something to follow, anyway.

"You do not talk much, do you?" One word replies and all! One would get the impression that she didn't like him. Well, he couldn't say he cared for her too much, either. Either way, she'd probably be happy to dump him off on somebody else by the end of this.

"So, am I more or less safe? Are there other people on board? Are they mutants and stuff, too?" Kurt would probably annoy her to death, if it was possible. This was a questionable situation.

Great. That might be code for having half the Brotherhood up there, ready to kick his butt the moment he went upstairs.. whatever was up there. "Anyone that I know?" She'd skipped over his question about talking. Then again, he knew the answer to that, didn't he? The disembodied voice was downright taciturn, only speaking when she had to..

.. but she liked action movies, so maybe she wasn't all bad.

Why was she so frustratingly short-spoken? It was enough to make Kurt even more nervous. Anxiety skittered around his skull for a few moments. He was stuck here with total strangers. No team-mates. No Professor. Not even villains, who he'd almost be tempted to work with, depending on who they were. Sometimes it was better to deal with the devil you did know.

Okay. He had to just.. suck it up. Be an adult. Breathe.

"Okay. Clothes. Then what? Do I at least get a map? A pamphlet?" A little red X with the words 'you are here!' next to it?
