Date Night! [Closed]
Okay, so it wasn’t quite night, so it didn’t really count as date night. But! It was a date! Her first real date in…a very long time. So, being understandably excited, Kara had done the thing to do and had worn something different for the date. Well, okay, not something different. She only has the plantsuit. But! She’s ripped them up so it looks like she’s wearing hot pants and go-go boots. That’s right, Julian, she’s showing off her shapely gams, and she’s only done that for you so far. She’s still wearing the gold-edged cape, though. Coz, you know, it’s the Super thing to do.
She stood outside the media library, trying to be as cool as Kryptonianly possible, with her arms and legs crossed and what she hoped was a mysterious but alluring smile on her face.
Crap. Was she supposed to bring him flowers or something?
…
Please don’t bring that horrible sludge from the mess hall in place of chocolate.

How dare he. How dare he say all of that about her? It was not always about her. Not even close. Kara was just trying to light Brainiac 5 up, and sure, okay, she flirted with him a little, but how could she not? There was - there had been something between them. She was sure of that. All of the stuff in the Sensoriums, in the room with the statues, all of that meant something, right? It had to have. It wasn't just...
Could she really have been reading him wrong all this time?
It didn't matter. He had no right. He had no right to say the things he'd said, to insult her so openly and coldly in front of Julian. He'd made her sound like a total spoiled brat.
Uh, Kara? You did insult him first.
Shut up. He interrupted my date.
He didn't mean to.
Not. Buying. It.
Rao. Was he right? Did she really over-estimate her importance to others? No, she couldn't have. There was no way in any hell from any cultural belief. If that was the case, Kara would have sought out the Supergirl name, and more likely than not, she would have tried to force her way into the Teen Titans or the Outsiders or the Justice League or the Justice Society. But she hadn't done any of that.
Urgh.
She closed her eyes and stopped walking for a moment. She took a deep breath and, opening her eyes, turned to face Julian. "I'm sorry about that. In there. That was highly inappropriate and so something that you needed to not witness."

"What the hell was that in there?" Despite the slightly colorful language, his tone was more curious than accusatory. He was wondering how close to the truth he managed to hit in that last remark to Brainy.

"So there's nothing there?"

"The guy's an idiot if he turned you down." And if Julian wasn't collared up, he'd have turned him into a green splat on the wall.
no subject
It was probably all for the better though. Until Brainy had...done that...she'd been having a great time on this date.
She smiled at Julian. "Well, on the bright side, him turning me down is what freed me up to say yes to you. Not counting crazy robots and little green nerds, I'm thinking that that was a very good thing, don't you?"
no subject
"Oh, definitely." She really was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise shitty situation.
"I was having a good time. Y'know, up until we were interrupted."

Not to mention her superpowered cousin who would kill him if he saw them right now.Not exactly the smart choice there. But considering how hot the girl he was making out with was? It was definitely the choice he was going with.
no subject
No she wouldn't. She's had enough tentacle abuse for one day, kthnxbye."I'm thinking we should find a private place somewhere where we won't be distracted by family members or robots of any kind."
no subject
"Yeah, we should. Know anywhere? Cause I really haven't had much of a chance to look."
no subject
"Beyond the media library?" The place was much too public. Especially with Stacy seeing everything. Kara shuddered involuntarily. Raise your hand if ew? "Which is so not within limits now, Rao-dammit." Why couldn't the city have, like, a hotel or something?
no subject
"Rao-dammit?" Curious phrasing, that.

"Ok... so where are you from?"

"Wait-- isn't your cousin named Kon? Or...?" Did he miss something? Cause no one had mentioned anyone named Kal before.

"Yeah; little awkward." He leaned his head back a little, then shrugged a bit. "But I can deal." He grinned a bit at Kara.
"At least it explains why I've never seen a girl as hot as you on Earth before."
