To the Toilets! [open]

"HEY!"

Paco hopped up on one of the flesh-couches in the Observation Deck, waving his arms around.

"Anyone who wants to know where the non-creepy toilets are, meet me at the Hub! We'll go and hit the City and I can give you the run-down on what we know about that place so far."

Message delivered, he hopped down and headed for the Hub to meet up with this John guy and his friend.

John gives a sharp nod and continues looking around. He said his peace; he intends to mostly ignore Mia from this point onward. "If it was a swampy guy I'm willing to bet we'd smell him. Or notice the mosquitoes."

What? Logic is always applicable.

Allison will follow his lead with the ignoring her. "I probably wouldn't notice. Or care. High School what?" Oh God, Allison. No.

Mia cringes bodily. "They've got that garbage in more than one universe? Ewwwwww."

She processes the plant person discussion bits. "Wait... don't you mean Swamp Thing?"

"I know, right? Who'd have thought there were so many morons with high tech computers in all the universes?"

Paco shook his head. "We haven't seen or heard anything out of that stall yet, and we've been using it for awhile. The Brainies came in here, and they'd have probably noticed if it were giving off harmful rays or something. It's probably something that's going to crawl out and scare the shit out of us eventually, like everything else on this ship. Or it's dead. We're hoping it's the second, but in the mean time, we like to pee where Stacy can't watch us."

"Swamp who?" Pixie asked, raising an eyebrow. "Ew. No. It's Man-Thing." Cross-dimensional counterparts? Maybe. "As long as it doesn't scare the, uh, crap out of us while we're...depositing the...well. Yeah. Okay. I'll be sure to dust whatever it is and then stab it with my soul dagger."

There is a comment about 'comic-book fucking realities' muttered under John's breath but it's not a dig at anyone, just a comment on the name Swamp-Thing or Man-Thing or whatever. "Dust it?"

"Soul dagger. What is that, like excaliber or something?" What? It's not like the future outlawed books, okay.

Mia shrugs at Pixie's reference, but seems curious as well.

"That would be why we suggest you don't wander off alone in general," Paco said. "Seriously. At least try to do the buddy system, we've got over a hundred people in here, you can't piss all of them off."

Although he's pretty interested in finding out what Pixie's talking about too.

"Right. Because we don't want any violations for violence," Pixie nodded. "Oh, right. My soul dagger. It's...a relatively new thing I can do." Her eyes - already pitch black - darken in expression. She concentrates and a whirl of light and dark and smoke curls around her hand before a dark, metallic-looking dagger appears. "It can only harm magic, though."

John tilts his head to the side a bit at the display of magic. "Impressive. Good to know." So now he knows...three people, other than Allison, and has no intention of allowing either two of them exploring the less claustrophobic city on their own.

Knowledge is power. Or something like it.

Something like that. And safety in numbers. Yadda yadda. "Why only magic?"

Mia moved closer, watching the changes wash over Pixie. "Cool stuff..."

She smiles at the other girl. "You had any actual practice fighting with that thing? I'm not bad with a sword myself."

"Cool!" Paco agreed enthusiastically. He thought for a moment. "I think you might be the first magic-type we've got. Everyone else I've met seems to be badass normal or tech-y."

Come to think of it, he really ought to see how Jaime's doing sans Traci...

"I'm actually a mutant," she explained, looking at each of the group of people assembled around her. "The magic...is a by-product of someone toying around with my, ah, soul." She paused for a moment and continued, "It's a piece of my soul, and it was created in a place that's practically all magic...by someone named Magik." She was still processing it herself. Surprisingly, though, for someone who'd lost her soul, Pixie was handling it very, very well. She smiled at Mia. "I've had a little practice, but I'm always up for more."

Someone named Magik sounds like the Redundant Department of Redundancy, to John, but he doubts he's the first one to think that and he will not bet money that he would be the first one to say it.

So he doesn't. Instead: "That's intense." With a nod to her composure, as well. People deal with what they have to deal with or they don't, but Pixie's got a bit more of John's respect for that.

And Allison's. "Highly intense." Slight smile at Pixie there.

"How do you know Stacy can't see in here?" That's been worrying her since they came down. "Or did you say?"

Mia grins. "Okay, you and I need some sparring in the Sensorium though, if you're okay with it..... Oh right, you got a name?" She extends her hand. "I'm Mia."

Since Mia had the magical fairy girl covered for the moment, Paco turned to answer Allison's question.

"Mostly, we figure she doesn't know because we've been able to get away with fighting each other down here without getting Violations or grabbed by tentacles," he said. "Also, she doesn't notice things attacking us right off when we're down here -- like the giant acid-spitting cockroaches, or the alien brain-slugs. And we know she doesn't notice them because as soon as she does, she stuffs everyone back into the Hub and cleans them right out of her system."

At least, he was pretty sure that had been what happened. He'd been a little busy fighting against the Sub-Visser's control at the time.

"Pixie," she said, sticking her hand out and shaking Mia's hand. "Well, Megan Gwynn. But my codename's Pixie."

When Pixie is done shaking Mia's hand, John gives her another nod. "Nice to meet you. I'm John." He thinks he kind of sort of introduced Allison earlier, but she can reintroduce herself anyway.

He did. Sort of. Still. "Hi. Young. Allison." Oh, Allison. This is not the Resistance.

Mia smiled at 'Pixie'. "Well, I'm pretty sure none of you are from my world, besides Paco, so I don't really sweat the aliases, but I go by 'Speedy' as well."

She then drew herself up, took a breath, and turned to the others, extending her hand. "Hey, sorry we got off on the wrong foot."

Fingers crossed that Mia's pacifying gesture would work. Paco glanced over at John and Allison to see their reaction.

Pixie followed Paco's gaze and hovered silently.
