His logic has failed him, and he has just been forced to realize that, indeed, that way of thinking was reaching for levels of stupidity that he has never aspired to aim for. "Oh," he intones, blinking a few times in rapid succession before deciding to regain his composure (meaning 'start glaring again'). "Okay, well, I'm sure the team is assessing that part of the problem, too. The fact that they're trying to get out is good enough for me, though," he says, trying to save himself. The lapse in common sense is proof that he is completely and totally disoriented.
