Meet N' Greet

||Initiating Meet and Greet. Crew members, for the sake of morale, there will be periodic meetings on the Obs Deck so that newer members of the crew can be welcomed and so the crew can communicate with one another.||

Apparently, Stacy liked to throw a party now and again.

"I am well," Starfire smiled, striding over to Maria. She looked the girl over for injuries. "What happened to you?"

Maria shrugged a bit and tried to play off her few bandages.

"You don't get into a fight with anti armor troops without expecting a few bumps and bruises. I'll be fine in a few days. I just need to find a proper armored flight suit."

[starbolts]

"Would it be in the armory? We can request one from the engineers if it is not available right now."

Starfire tried to restrain herself from fussing. It wouldn't do to work herself up unnecessarily.

"Really I just need to find the right materials. I have the specs on how to make the one I had back home but even with it a few bumps and bruises aren't unavoidable. But I'm stronger than I look.

She smiled a bit and put a hand on Star's shoulder.

"I've been doing this since I was able to walk, I'm ok, really."

[starbolts]

"Of course! You'll build it yourself," Starfire nodded, relaxing slightly. Maria was a competent woman.

"We also began our training at a young age, but it had a very different focus. I must fight."

"Yeah. That's what Seibzehn and I do too. We fight. We fought. Home wasn't a very pretty place."

[starbolts]

"This home is not very pretty either," Starfire says. "It is...interesting, but increasingly cruel. And yet it is our shelter."

"We make due with what we have. But its good to have a friend like you here to make it bearable."

She nods and smiles.

[starbolts]

Starfire's mouth cracks into a smile. It feels strange but wonderful to be called someone's friend---Maria is one of the very few left to her, and she will not waste this opportunity.

"Can anything be done for you to make it more bearable?"

She nods and scratches the back of her head a bit.

"Honestly, its just nice to spend time with friends and not spend that time repairing damaged armor plates. But if there's something you'd like to do, I'm game for just about anything outside of the hangar. I mean there are things to do like that here, right?"

The last bit seems more like an unsure question as Maria does spend most of her time in there with her robot.

"Then..."

Starfire closes her eyes, searching her brain for suggestions. It is not easy to set her worries aside and think of something to relax them both, but she does have a faint inkling of an idea.

"Would you be interested in visiting the heated baths with me? The water may relax us."

Maria liked heated baths, all 5 or 6 of them that she had. At home it generally wasn't a luxury that she had access to and hearing that there were some here and they weren't just for the top nobility did sound appealing.

"Heated baths? That does sound less jarring than just jumping in the lake and using a wash basin for my hair I admit."
