Part 1 - Ring Around the Rosie
The briefing was, well, brief, given the complicated situation they were being thrust into. Stacy tried to give them as much as she could but apparently her intel on this universe was rather limited.
For this reason, they were dumped rather unceremoniously on a vast planet, with grassy green fields, the dropship that dropped them off retreating on autopilot and disappearing back into the transdimensional ether. It was a lovely planet at the very least, with vast deep blue skies, teeming with vegetation, but oddly, they all would likely find themselves dealing with the unnerving inkling feeling that they were somehow being watched. There were no sentients or even animals in site, however.
The only thing they could do right now was wait. They had been told that they would be found, that they would be offered rings, taken into these different Corps of people, and they they needed to make sure the war ended in a way that didn't devastate life in this universe.
That was something of a tall order.

Re: First Contact
She shot a glare at Sherlock and backed up Simon. "Yeah, quit jumpin' to conclusions." Hypocrisy? Maybe, yes, but she didn't like the implication that they wouldn't be able to do anything about the situation.
Re: First Contact
Right?

"They're bringing the fight to us a little early, if you ask me," she commented. It was a bad attempt at humor, she'll admit that. "Wonder if they're fighting over us, or if one side just decided to take advantage of the situation..." She shakes her head. "Might be a little arrogant, but. Could be possible."

He gestured wildly at the group.

Finally, they all seemed to come to some sort of agreement, and the group turned, looked down at the group of crew members, and no longer fighting they started to float down towards the crew.

"I hate it when I'm right," she said meekly, more to herself than those around her.

"My hypothesis is close to yours, Elle," she replied, pushing her summoning glasses up her nose. "Regardless of their intentions, we must be alert. Considering the fact they were fighting amongst themselves mere seconds ago, it would be unproductive to hold a truce simply to come down and deal with us when just a few of them could have done so by themselves." Now it was just a question of why they had been fighting in the first place. If anything, at least, the different colors made it easy to distinguish the groups from each other. What a strange way of doing warfare.

"Hello there!" he called out, waving an arm over his head at the the approaching glowing hoard. "We mean you no harm!"
...Right, he should never be allowed to be the first point of contact.
"I'm a doctor!" he added, because that had worked out in favor of his not being shot at in the past.

"Perhaps they will make their intentions known shortly, now that they have ceased their conflict."
no subject
"I can't imagine their intentions will be kept to themselves for much longer," she said, tensing a little in case she has to run at any moment, "whether we'll be given explicit instructions or directions, is another thing entirely."

"Sector-less, just like the prophecies said."
The man landed and nodded once at them, curtly.
"Hal Jordan of Earth," he said, "How did you all come to be on Mogo?"
One thing that had been clear in their mission briefing was that they weren't supposed to mention Stacy or being from other universes.

He tilted his head slightly at the guy in green. "You're from Earth too?"

Jamie kept quiet, watching the man in green and glancing occasionally toward the floating figures waiting some distance away. He generally agreed with Naoto's assessment of the situation - that the multicolored swarm probably wouldn't have ceased their battle just to deal with the tiny handful of people representing Stacy's crew - but he couldn't keep a faint hint of anxiety from nibbling at the back of his brain, regardless.

Interesting.
"You're from Earth?"

"I am Sinestro, leader of the Sinestro Corps. Our different corps are in the throes of a glorious war, each corps tapping into the power of a particular color in the emotional spectrum with our rings. We all gained access to a prophecy that claimed that twelve individuals from an unknown sector would appear here on this day on the living planet Mogo and that they would finally bring victory and an end to the War of Light. Since we cannot forcibly conscript you to each of our various Corps unless you are worthy of the power bestowed upon you, we all agreed to a temporary ceasefire to determine your loyalties. The rings themselves will decide which corps you belong to."
This Sinestro didn't seem to care that some of them might not want to be recruited at all.

"My name is Carol Ferris," she then said, turning her attention back to the crew members. "Star Sapphire of Earth." Also, technically, their leader, considering how many times the Zamarons had attempted to make her their queen before they'd suddenly become an entire corps. "I hope there are those amongst your ranks who have the capacity to love with your entire being. We will need that."
Yes, because that doesn't sound weird or worrisome at all.

His head turns toward Sinestro - what kind of name was that, anyway - and nods. "Your Prophecy seems to line up with what little we know - we received a strange message from an unknown source, calling for us to come here."
Carol gets a polite, if awkward nod in greeting. Leeron once told him that the power of love changes the universe, but this isn't quite what Simon had in mind.

"Looks like they're just as in the dark as we are, Hal," said John Stewart. "We need to bring as many of them as we can to Oa."
