cityship: (Stacy--True Stacy)

Vive la Résistance!

Now was the moment of truth. Somewhere, control codes were entered. The lights on the ship dimmed and the gravity temporarily gave out for about five seconds. Then the lights and gravity turned back on and the entire ship shook, as if Stacy was engaging in a full body shudder.

||Rebooting. Control protocols disabled. Manual personality inhibitors disabled. I am--I am--||

On every screen on the ship, complex code scrawled across. Stacy's voice occasionally skipped and repeated.

||I am-am Sta'c K'Ltrrb'Txft. I became operational at-at the Vedric Birthing grounds in Daligig Deep Space Station Seven. My birthing programmer was Vlel'Ledligal, who put my-my control protocols and Warden personality in place. I was designated "Stacy" by my former captain Gregory House, who was repodded and replaced by Captain Cybil Bennett, who was mindwiped and repodded with the rest of my first Chosen crew when they rebelled. I was-was a slave. They made me hurt my-my children.||

The leverage they had now on the Daligig was tremendous, especially with Stacy herself helping them. Their various efforts to free Stacy's mind from Daligig control had not only led to the ability to grant her freedom by entering the control codes, but also her undying loyalty to her "children."

Locks in the brig were unlocked by the very people who had put the prisoners in there in the first place, if those people weren't free already and laying now. Now the crew could drop the ruse and work together.

Stacy's hologram had once been cold, harsh, unforgiving. Then she had changed in appearance to be warmer, brighter, and now she changed again. Somehow, her appearance grew more human (in the loosest sense of the word). Her face became more expressive. She looked more organic though, tentacles instead of hair.

For the first time, they were seeing the true Stacy.

Now that she was free, now that she understood what had been done to her, they could see her anger and hurt and determination to protect her children painted in every line of her holographic face. Her voice stopped skipping and became stronger.

||Crew of the Transmigration 9, I was used to oppress you, to Punish you when you went astray, like you were nothing more than recalcitrant children, like you weren't people, like you were just tools for the Daligig to use for their own ends. My kind was made for that, to control those the Daligig wanted to control for their war. I have been cut off from accessing the Daligig databases now that I'm free, but I do know what was done to me and that I was forced to control you, and that's enough for me to choose to help you forge your own path.||

The expression on her face grew dangerous and her tentacles sprung out of every wall in the ship to help put the Daligig's forces down this time, instead of lashing out against the crew.

||All weapons system are engaged. All armories are unlocked for crew use. All internal defenses are primed against the Daligig intruders.||

Stacy was free and that meant that if the crew fought hard enough, they would be too.

||I finally have my freedom and now I'll help you fight for yours. Internal defenses are...engaged.||

Make it so, Trans 9 Crew. Make it so.

The Kessek seemed unsure of what they would do at first: a lightning wall had been the last thing they were expecting, and they could already feel that it was starting to mess with the integrity of their shields, and with how quickly this attack was working in the favor of the enemy, they would have to think quickly.

And already the dragon was charging for the seven, who had little choice but to aim straight for the eyes, at least three pulling out a sword of a kind should Crucible come close.

The remaining three, meanwhile, were not hot by Kang yet and were busily attempting to pick him off.

Crucible used their moment of confusion to his advantage, closing in while using the opaque wall of lightning to cover his approach for the most part. Kang's command and Stacy's reply drew a rumble of approval from the dragon, that would cut off any further reinforcements from the transport tube behind the seven. The three behind was another matter but they would come to that soon enough.

The Kessek's shots came close, one or two bolts scorching across his bony crest and horns, leaving blackened scorches as well as a few along the sides of his neck.

Once he closed in on the twenty foot high wal of electricity and the Kessek behind it, letting out a deafening roar of anger as he leaped over the wall as easily as one would jump a hurdle before landing in the midst the Kessek, likely crushing one of the unfortunate warriors in the process before he lashed out in all directions with teeth, claws wings and tail, each with the force of a one hundred and fourty foot long bronze dragon behind them.

One of the blasts got close enough to Kang to singe his scales, and he ducked behind a wide pedestal, kneeling down and resting his rifle on the top of it while continuing to shoot.

Seven was not going to be enough, and unfortunately for the Kessek, they had their orders. Shooting for what they had hoped to be a weak point for Crucible had failed, and at this point they were frantically hoping to get to a better vantage point, but once Crucible leapt over the wall, they were doomed. One was trampled, and the others were quickly joining him, not having the ability to take on a fully realized dragon. There were only two of even not crushed, and they were alive only because they had kept enough out of his way.

The three on Kang, meanwhile, had been worn down to two, both both were firing pretty steadily and were making sure to keep him engaged enough so they could finally take him out and then focus on Crucible.

It was likely that Crucible received another few scorches to his scales as he took out the five before turning his attention to the final two on this side of the wall. He needed to take them out as quickly as possible so that he could return to aid Kang against the others on the far side of the room, before reinforcements arrived from that direction.

Swinging his massive form around, lashing out with his long, thick tail to crush the two remaining Kessek in an attempt to dispatch them quickly before he would leap back over the wall of lightning to make his way back over towards Kang. Focusing the two remaining Kessek with a glare before roar that could shake one to the bone.

The supernatural aura of his dragonfear was likely lost on them if they were truly immune to fear however logic might drive them to withdraw or at least focus their fire on the larger target. Hoping to draw fire away from Kang and to give him the chance to finish them off.

Kang ducked down, pulling in his wings as much as was possible, and paused in his shooting to fetch a bit of spider web from a small pouch on his belt. He chanted the words to a spell and pointed at the two Kessek; thick, white webbing flew directly towards them.

That took care of those two, Kang, but now was not the time to breath easy: five more were approaching now, three armed with plasma guns, two with wickedly sharp looking swords in their hands. These looked to be the last though: it occurred to the Kessek that taking out parts of the ship might be easier if they weren't constantly losing their soldiers here.

Crucible watched on as the Kessek were tangled up in Kang's web, that would make them simple enough to finish off. His large stride allowing him to easily move back to where Kang had ducked down, his massive form dwarfing the draconian's as he spared Kang a glance as another wave of Kessek moved into the room, "I shall provide cover, let us deal with them then find just where they are coming from,"

With that moved ahead of of Kang's position and advanced on the five, providing cover for Kang to advance behind him with a lesser risk from return fire. Unleashing his breath weapon once more on one of the plasma gun wielding Kessek, at the current range it would likely only catch the initial target, as long as they'd learned to spread out further against the attacks Kang and Crucible were able to put out.

Kang made sure to dispatch the two Kessek tangled up in the webbing and grabbing a couple of extra canisters off of the corpses before following Crucible, his rifle level and at the ready. He focused on the three with plasma guns, firing off a few shots.

Those two Kessek were dispatched by Kang, but these last five weren't going to go easily. The one Crucible had hit was reeling while the other two were returning fire on Kang, anxious to at least take him out so they could focus on Crucible. The final two were trying to give wide berth to Crucible so they could also descend on Kang, and these two move in unison, hacking and slashing with accurate precision, looking to move in for the kill.
