You will never win! [ITA]
"And so the crew of the Transmigration Nine has DOMINATED the tournament, coming at last to the semifinals, where four brave souls now strive to see which of them is the best!" the leg-mustached orb announced to the camera cloud! It paused, then continued in a more witty tone, "Of course, there are no rules against selling your soul for the power to advance, so maybe I'm being a little too charitable, huh?"
Pause for laughter, and...
"Victory and the prize seems assured for these warriors... or DOES it?" Pause for gasp. "We need some motivation for the best fights to come out! We can't let them go easy on each other! So from here on out..." Aaaand pause for dramatic effect...
"The loser will surrender ALL their powers to the winner! That's right! Lose this round and walk away a boring, ordinary human being, dragon, or whatever that purple guys is! This is for ALL the marbles, kids!"
The program cut to commercial, as the MC turned to the eliminated crew members. "It's not true, by the way, but don't tell your friends that. Your electric-man friend especially seems to have way too many scruples for him to go all-out without motivation. Let them think the stakes are high. It's good publicity."

Cole vs. Ruffnut
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Well, this could easily turn curb-stompish.
Cole wasn't willing to forcefully take someone's power unless absolutely necessary.
"If I win, I won't take yours, and you win, you won't take mine?", he asked, curious to see if they could get out of this unscathed... that, and he didn't want to hurt a little, if vikingish, girl
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
She had to shout over the storm that was buffeting them "Whatever!" A non-committal answer because at the moment it didn't matter to her. As a flash of lightning lit up the area and made all the slick wet surfaces show white she couldn't contain herself anymore. She was going to win this tournament for Mindy, for the Overlord, and for all the vikings left on the ship. And to hell with anyone who thought they could get in her way.
She was charging! water splashing under her thick boots as another flash of lightning reflected off her armored gauntlets and helmet. The thunderous boom that followed seemed to shake her very bones.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Not to mention she was just a teen girl, alternate universes aside.
So he mentally prepares himself, waiting to see what she does.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
She wasn't putting all her money on that one strike though. Immediately after the upper cut she'd start lashing out with both fists in a rapid fire technique one right after the other. The metal strips on her specially made for grappling gauntlets would give a nice solid strike if it hit.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
The uppercut connected with Cole's chin, but he only backed on account of surprise. The rest of the punches he either managed to block or got out of the way. Those that connected didn't really hurt too much.
Then again, punches seemed minor after you had been caught in bomb blasts, grenade explosions, multiple gunshots, and having to face down giant antichrist-ish looking superhumans.
In-between openings, Cole sent a bolt or two at her, not intending to do too much damage to a kid on his own.
Water conducted electricity, and odds are, rain + bolt = near 100% chance of getting hit.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Cole dodges out of the way of Ruffnut's charge and decides on a simple and, hopefully, painless method.
He focuses his concentration as it seems as though the world around him slows...
Until he aims two Precision bolts at Ruffnut's legs.
He could heal the damage.
(OOC: You play inFamous yourself?)
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
She tried to put the breaks on but the rain slicked deck she went sliding and spinning. Her feet scrambled and gauntlet clad hands clawed at the ground.
It slowed her down but just barely. Any more slower to catch herself and she would have gone right over the edge. She'd have to be more careful about the speed.
(OOC: Nope~)
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
He unleashes a shockwave (OOC: see inFamous wiki) to try and throw her off the edge.
(OOC: I might be late due to homework/Skyrim.)
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Thinking quickly she whipped off her helmet and sank the horns of it into the surface keeping her from falling off.
"Pretty good!" She shouted over the storm but then took off like a rocket rushing him again in a blur. Every flash of lightning she was closer till she was practically ontop of him digging her heels in to try and stop herself while her steel clad fists lashed out in rapid fire bursts.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
He still couldn't access his ice abilities.
Regardless, he released another shockwave to knock her back from getting near him and knew he had to get physical.
He withdrew the Amp from his backpack. Mano-a-mano.
"Welp. I'm going to hell for this.", he thought.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
"Ooo...what does that do?" She asked with a twisted smile of excitement. Cole was doing her more favors then he might know.
"Show me!" She lunged forward slower this time, bringing her buckler up ready to defend against his strikes.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Did he make a home run?
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Not so much. Instead Ruffnut blocked it with her buckler and went under to try and deliver a jab low and between his legs.
She was never above fighting dirty.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Over the last few months, Cole had been caught in the epicenter of a bomb, shot at, thrown back by grenades, blasted by energy attacks, hit by speeding trains occasionally, nearly electrocuted himself in water, been exploded by rockets, smashed by Corrupted, and all sorts of damage that no normal human should ever have to be hit by.
And yet, oddly enough, in all that time, he had not been reminded what it was like to be hit in the crotch.
"Ouch.", Cole said in a tiny voice that was not his own.
He's off-guard, you want to finish him Ruffnut? Now's your chance.
(OOC: And this could be a feasible way for Cole to have gotten his ass kicked by a little girl, right?)
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Ruffnut didn't hold back even a second. A punishing left hook followed by a right. Her gauntlets had been specially designed for grappling and punching so the extra plating on the knuckles would leave solid strikes to either side of his face.
Long finger dug into the sides of his head mercilessly as she brought his head up then down hard swinging one of her pointy knees up to catch him in the chin with a mighty roar.
Then the final move. wrenching his weapon free she swung like a Major League Slugger trying to destroy the baseball. Sweat flew from her brow and a look of sadistic glee crackled in her eyes.
Re: Cole vs. Ruffnut
Here he'd gotten far enough to have beaten some crazy bitch with a sword and some mage guy... And now he was about to get beaten by a teenage girl (viking teenage girl, in his defense).
Well, that was something Zeke was probably never going to let Cole live down if he got awakened.
Maxin vs. Bight
no subject
No, it was the swamp. Slogging was definitely the word. His boots were full of the muck, and he'd already fallen, so Maxim was on the wet side, as well as the cold side.
So much for dignity.
no subject
Bight's clothes may have been wet and cold but he seemed not to be bothered in the least, water was his element after all. The dragon seemingly able to retain his dignity even in such a situation as the one he found himself in.
"Quite the characterful arena, wouldn't you say?" he commented across to his opponent before bowing his head in greetings, waiting to see what he would do.
