Liberté, égalité, fraternité (and a hard-boiled egg)
With the Council having laid down the groundwork with the Daligig to gain their trust in the uprising, the crew prepared to put on a show, and the Daligig at their wit's end and impatient with the crew of the Transmigation 9, it was time to act.
The plans were clear. Allenby would be leading some of the crew in what looked like a hotheaded attempt the attack the Daligig and Kessek and oust them off the ship. Those that wanted to stay out of the fighting and take a neutral position of some kind were to make sure they stayed safe or acted their parts as the horrified crew-members that wanted everyone to make peace. And of course, anyone else was going to play a roll in pretending to side with the Council and the Daligig to put their fellow crew members down (without hurting them) making it look like it wasn't a clear-cut issue, so the Council could get the command codes necessary to start the crew's true takeover of the ship.
More observant members of the crew had noticed where the Daligig, Ghyll, and Kessek had been entering and leaving the restricted areas of the ship. The attack was to start at one of those entrances, as the fake rebels tried to storm in and take on the Daligig forces. After that, as the Kessek were drawn into the ship itself to put down the rebellion, it was going to be a free-for-all, a faux civil war of sorts, as flashy and convincing as they could make it without anyone actually dying.
Lights! Cameras! Action, people! It was time to put on a show and hope it was convincing enough for the Daligig to give the crew what they needed to truly be free.

The City
This spread out ruins of countless fallen civilizations had become her home. Stacy had saved her so that she could save Stacy.
Zetta had trained her.
Mindy had taught her.
And others had fallen so that she could grow from defeating them.
Ruffnut Thorston was ready for chaos, ready for destruction and as such that meant her city would have to suffer just a little longer.
Gripping a flagpole on which she had hung a crudely made flag she threw out her hand and sent out a bolt of lightning indiscriminately at the city below. It was flashy and it was bright. And more importantly the target was where Stacy could see it and therefore, people would be alerted to the fire it had started.
She cackled and threw out another bolt to the right of the first building, then another. What she lacked in accuracy she made up for in power and distance. Where fires didn't start chunks of building exploded raining down more destruction on the already wounded city's streets.
In a moment of wicked glee she threw up her hands into the air and let lightning burst from her fingertips twirling and dancing into the sky. A challenge to any who thought they could take her.
All part of the plan.
Re: The City
And in comparison? Hit Girl calculated, waited for the perfect opportunity, and in that way she knew that Ruffnut had a leg up in causing wanton destruction. It didn't mean she couldn't, but hers was the type that stayed like colors within the line, at least in the past since coming here. She could do what Ruff did, but chose not to, if only because she wanted to make sure she won.
This was no different, but there was a course of excitement in her as things escalated. It was inevitable that war would come, that lies would be spread, that this fake rebellion was going to happen. And fine, fate was fate.
It didn't mean that Hit Girl wasn't going to enjoy the shit out of this.
The barrier jacket was set up, and Hit Girl watched her girlfriend a moment longer before she did say something.
"Septum elementis aqua! Coèuntes, sagittent inimicum meam. Sagitta Magica, Series/Convergentia aqua!"
Seven ice missles your way, Ruffnut.
Re: The City
What she heard though...was the sound of ice coming into existence before taking off. It had a distinct sound that she remembered from training sessions. Spinning around at the last minute she smashed through the first strike with her buckler and blasted three more with her lightning.
...the last one caught her in the forehead though and her head snapped back from impact almost sending her toppling off the building and giving her an angry red mark on her forehead. "The hell was that for!?" She roared even though she knew exactly what.
Re: The City
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She said, her voice meant to sound dangerous and full of venom. "You know goddamn well that you shouldn't be making a bad situation worse. We have Ohm to fight, and here you are making chaos like an idiot!"
She raised her hands. "So knock it off, or I'm making you!"
Re: The City
She rose her own hands "You think you even could? Just because I'm not as careful as you doesn't mean I'm not better!"
Re: The City
"Those 'freaks' are the only thing keeping us in the game one step ahead of the Ohm, dumbass! And with an attitude like that, I doubt you'll even make it to Overlord! Just shooting lightning attracts attention!"
She snickered. "Newsflash sweetcheeks: I don't think I could beat you. I know I could! And for more reasons than being careful."
Re: The City
She knew she would hit a button with that one, but she kept hammering away at it. "Sure it's easy when someone else is calling the shots that might get people killed, but when we get rid of those bossy jerks that blood is gonna be on our hands! And I don't think you're ready to deal with that!"
In truth...Ruff was pulling her argument completely out of her butt. She had nothing but instinct and rambling to go off of. Sounded good though didn't it?
Re: The City
Not that it didn't sting a little. Sure, anyone calling her weak was pretty much bringing death upon themselves, but of course she had to play this fast and loose, and in a minute they were going to be getting even more into it.
She relished that, of course.
"Any death is always on our hands, whether there's Daligig or not. But if you're going to be as big a child as Allenby about this, its no wonder you're about as successful as her in doing something half the time!"
Re: The City
"More successful then you!" She shouted lightning crackling on her arms. "While you're messing around with your restaurant and wasting time training others I just keep getting stronger."
She punched her fists together, gauntlets clashing and sparking violently lighting up her face almost demonically.
"I'm not just one part of a pair anymore. I'm the big deal!"
Re: The City
"All you did was win a beauty competition and get better in a tournament. Don't think doing any of that shit is gonna mean you're better than me. You might kick your brother's ass, but he's a little chcik compared to me."
Lance was in hand, Ruffnut. Defend yourself.
Re: The City
She threw the first punch, aiming for the lance of all things to swat it off before swinging for Mindy's gut.
Still part of the plan? She hoped so. Once fist made contact with clothes she was going to let off a shotgun burst of lightning point blank.
Re: The City
An aim for the lance? Not a good idea, as its actually something that came with Big Daddy. Contact with the thing was just going to send a shock of pain to Ruffnut, as was intended.
Re: The City
Re: The City
Re: The City
Ruffnut couldn't help herself from taking a moment to reflect on how every time they sparred Mindy managed to trip her...at least it felt that way. And as she fell for a moment helpless to the flow of gravity she reflected on her own failings as a warrior that always fell for such a simple but effective move.
She hit the ground with a grunt and lashed out with both feet for Mindy's kneecaps in sharp retaliation. She was starting to see red now in a mix of frustration and embarrassment that she wasn't proving a good point about how far she had come. It was humbling to be flat on her back again.
Ruffnut hated being humbled.
Re: The City
So the lash out at her kneecaps, while unavoidable, she met with an overhead punch to Ruffnut's noggin, wincing a moment later. Her legs were strong, but even they could bleed and did so now, making Mindy feel slightly unsteady.
Re: The City
She rolled forward and sprang into Mindy while she was unsteady, screaming like a beast and digging her grip into the straps and trying to keep Mindy close. Where Mindy had the advantage at range the closer they were though the more advantage that Ruffnut the grappler had.
It was so hard not to smile. It felt great to get out all this energy with Mindy.
Re: The City
And it looked as if she were going to get her wish.
Of course, keeping Hit Girl at close range meant dominating her and catching her, something Hit Girl was not about to make easy. She reared back, redirecting her strength (thank you Morgan) and gave her a pretty hard blow to the stomach, her head jerking back hard to hit Ruffnut in the face.
Re: The City
After all it would be suspicious if she didn't use her powers in a match with someone she respected so much.
Re: The City
But of course, she was still wearing Big Daddy, which would at least stifle the blow.
Nonetheless, she took a breath and went through a flurry of punches, now that she and Ruffnut were too close to each other at this point.
Re: The City
Re: The City
Hit Girl was going to get a little more aggressive here, landing harder hits, her speed starting to increase exponentially.
Re: The City
Though her pain fueled anger urged her to continue she stumbled back and spat out some blood wheezing, swaying for good measure.
"I thought you were cool." She growled playing the part of the betrayed best friend. The lightning pulsed in her muscles and singed her clothes. Her fingertips turned black from self inflicted burns and even her eyes seemed to spark. The next punch she threw had the force of an sticking a fork in a light socket.
But it was also...just a little too slow, at least for someone with Mindy's skill.
Re: The City
So she knocked the hand aside, and delivered a concentrated punch to the gut.
"I've always been me before anyone else!" She said, looking exactly as cruel as needed. "Not my fault you forgot that!"
Man, did this suck though.
Re: The City
"Lucky...shot." She wheezed before her eyes rolled back and she fell into Mindy. Her only consolation was that she'd be out cold for the humiliation of being dragged to a cell or wherever prisoners were being kept.
