Who: Elle (Courier Six) and YOU
Where: Anywhere you want, though these are specific locations that'll be popping up: Hydroponics, the Garibah Tree, the Public Bathroom in the City, and a wall near the Level 5 Sleeping Halls teleporter. And, for the sake of narration, the Lucky 38. The Drunken Dragon Tavern will be added later!
When: Any time ranging from shortly after the podpops to the past week or so.
Summary: Elle has been occupying herself by exploring the ship, especially the City. I'm going to set this post up in a bit of a weird way, with the OP being a general exploring post, and then threads for specific locations, just to make things clean and easily organized. Feel free to tag into any of the threads unless it's marked as [CLOSED], and you can start your own thread with Elle set in another location of your choosing if you'd like! These settings are just starting points, in a way.

Elle is certain there are better things she could be doing, but... Unbeknownst to her, spending an endless amount of time exploring the Ship and its City has become her coping mechanism. She hasn't quite realized just how hard this whole situation has hit her. The knowledge that her home, the world she had learned to love again, even after everything that happened there, was gone... Knowing that most of the people she'd met probably hadn't been saved... Maybe she's still in shock. Maybe she's subconsciously delaying the information from truly, fully sinking in. But, regardless, she thinks she's fine. Which is why she wonders why she's still doing it. But everything else in her mind is telling her to keep poking her head around, and she's learned to listen to her instincts, so... Exploring it is.

Elle has managed to get herself a dress made a few weeks after her podpop, at the very least. There's a part of her that feels particularly naked without her combat armor, but she doesn't want to run around the ship wearing it -- it makes her seem more heavily armed, and that's not exactly good for making friends. Her dress and her Pre-War Hat will do her just fine, thank you very much, and it's much more comfortable. (Of course, she still has her shotgun slung over her back and a bag filled with extra ammo and her teddy bear over her shoulder. She may not be wearing her armor, but at least she'll be able to fight.)

The small Courier can be found everywhere publicly accessible on the Ship, though it's much more common to find her somewhere in the City. There's a lot more to ~~distract herself with~~ explore there, after all.

"I'll have to remember this is here, then." Elle nods. "I'm sure I'll really come to appreciate this place later."

... Ronnae. You're really sweet, Ronnae.

"No, no one's been giving me any trouble," she answers with a smile. "The City doesn't seem to be too terrible, just... kind of patchwork."

Ronnae blushed and smiled, "If you ever do decide to come later, I could maybe a-accompany you if you don't like being alone? I t-tend to come alone simply, well, because I d-don't do well in crowds, but I w-wouldn't mind coming with a friend."

She fidgeted a little in place, looking a bit embarrassed before continuing, "The City is my favorite place in the entire ship. There's so much to do and so much to explore that it keeps me entertained when I'm simply looking to not feel caged. Or on scavenger runs for parts and such. Sometimes you can find really neat places too. And some dangerous ones, but those I've see a more rare than usual."

"I'd like that. You could show me how this whole thing works. I'm sure a place as nice as this has a kind of etiquette or something..."

Elle nods. "I think I'll be spending a lot of time in the City, assuming I don't get a job on the ship. I'm thinking about finding an abandoned house to call my own, so I don't have to stay in the ship barracks any more."

Ronnae smiled, "There usually is, but really, it's pretty laid back around here. So long as you don't bother others, things are peachy."

A light laugh escaped Ronnae as she covered her mouth gently comment, "That's usually one of the first things people do once they get a loot at the crew quarters to be quite honest. I myself set out fairly quickly to find my home. There's plenty of locations to choose from so long as they aren't already occupied. I could help you look for sure!"

"It's all right. You don't have to help me look if you don't want to. I'm just kind of wandering aimlessly, so that can't be terribly interesting, right?" Elle smiles sheepishly.

After a moment, she says, "I wonder if I can even adjust to having a place to sleep regularly. Back home, I was always traveling, and while I did have a home base, it..." She shrugs. "Wouldn't really be the same as this."

What's that? That's her face going red again after having settled down!

"W-what, n-no it's okay really, I'd l-love to help! And r-really, like I said, I enjoy exploring, s-so it's won't be boring in the least! Plus g-good company always helps right?" She really hoped she hadn't upset her or something.

Ronnae listens to her, wondering what her world was like and yet opting to not ask at this moment in fear of bringing up something upsetting. Instead, she edged closer to where Elle was at a bit timidly before smiling up at her.

"Well, some people have different homes since we have such a huge City. Maybe you could make different camps? And have a place to always come back to...?"

If Ronnae wants to come, why doesn't she just outright say so? Elle finds herself wondering. Her smile brightens, though. "Well, if you wanna hang out with me that much," she teases, "I'd be more than happy to have you."

Hmmm... Claiming several places as home base doesn't sound like a terrible idea, though she's less comfortable about it. "That's a good idea." Elle nods. "I'm just not sure if I want to snag too many places, because other people could make use of those, too."

Ah! Why the teasing?! Don't you understand her face can only go so red?

Nevertheless, the young half orc blushes embarrassed and looks away. "N-no, I mean yes, I mean it's not, wait..... I've l-love to hang out with you..." Great explanation Ronnae.

"And r-really, a few places wouldn't b-be too bad. The place is b-big enough to have everyone pick o-out at least ten... Okay, so much m-much more than that considering our c-crew doesn't even fit in one tenth of the City, but still!"

Elle grins. "That settles it, then! We'll go exploring together soon."

Hmmm... Really? There's that much space? "I didn't realize it was that big. Why in the world is there so much space devoted to a city?"

Ronnae looked up in thought, "Well from what I hear and have seen, it's a collection of different buildings from different worlds, but since there's soooo many, it got nicknamed City. It's much bigger than people think." she added with a smile.

"Okay... I guess that makes more sense." Elle tilts her head to one side. "It wasn't meant to be a city, it just kind of wound up happening. Has anyone tried looking into why buildings from other worlds have appeared on the ship?"

Ronnae nods, "It appears that just like Stacy is saving us from our worlds right before the Ohm eat everything, she does her best to save buildings from the world as well. Kind of like preserving at least some of the world you know?" It wasn't a pleasant thought, but having at least a little bit of your world left wasn't all too bad.

"I guess that does make some amount of sense." Elle is beginning to switch into investigative mode, and she's quiet for a moment. "It's... awfully sentimental of her, though. It's true that we don't know for sure if we can reverse the damage done by the Ohm, but even if we can't, I think it sounds almost like a waste of energy. Couldn't it be used to save more people? Buildings can be rebuilt, and places matter less than the people themselves, I would think..."

"I wouldn't know, Stacy is... an odd being." because calling her a simple ship at this point would be kind of silly. "I'm convinced she's a bit crazy, but it's hard to tell what's going through her thoughts."

She paused and looked up in thought, tapping her chin idly. "Neuropathy and Programing are supposed to be working on a way to understand her better. Not quite sure how they've been doing since I don't like disturbing their progress, but they have really keen minds on the task."

"I hope they figure something out soon." Elle tucks her hair behind her ear. "Maybe sometime soon, we'll be able to ask her more questions about this kind of stuff."

"I'm sure many would love to and are very eager. Some have been here for years from what we've seen. Some come and go, some never leave, some never come back." Ronnae gave a small shrug and she sighed a little.

"It's kind of hard to keep track of things sometimes, like how I told you about how time is a bit screwy in this place."
