Maxim vs. Recca Hanabishi

The Lone Island stood perhaps a hundred yards in diameter, sparsely populated with thin palm trees and covered in sand, in the midst of a gentle ocean that stretched out as far as the eye could see.

It almost seemed too peaceful to be a fighting arena. Throw in a bigger palm or three, with ripe coconuts, and it could be a place to relax.

For some reason, that set Maxim's nerves right on edge, and he growled a bit, gnashing his fangs and flexing his fingers. His opponent had to be here someplace, after all. Sand and sun and salt wasn't all he smelled.

"Hey there!" the teenager who stood opposite from him said with a wave. "You ready for this?"

Lady Blade vs. Cole

These two drew the Grand Bridge -- a stone pathway about twenty feet wide and so long neither beginning nor end were visible from the middle. Of course it had no railings, guards, or other protective barriers to keep people from plummeting over the edge.

(OOC: Sorry for the wait, homework.)

So it had all come to this.

Cole was among the last champions, in spite of malfunctioning powers.

He couldn't clearly see Lady Blade yet, but he needed to talk to her first about an idea he had.

If this tournament was keeping people from helping each other - it had to be ended.

"Mind if I ask why you're here?"

While Mark had been with the crew, that wizard guy had been desparate to save his world.

Cole was going to make some goddamned alliances - no more innocent blood on anyone's hands.

The girl -- and she really was a girl, not yet out of her teenage years -- who stepped forward was clad in a sickening grey-black plate armor that shimmered oddly to sight.

"Because I crave violence and mayhem," she said cheerfully, as she held out her hand. In it appeared a sword that was easily twice her height and as wide as her forearm was long, also made of that same horrific material. She lowered the blade to aim it at him as casually as if it were a part of her.

Ok, that was kinda creepy.

And he couldn't help but let out a surprised, "Really?".

"You waste too much time talking," she said, sultry and dark. "That's no way to please a girl."

She stalked forward like a predatory cat, licking her lips as if she could taste his blood already.

Cole mentally prepared himself for fighting this girl and pulled out his Amp, not knowing exactly what she could do, but knowing that it was probably going to be mostly physical.

One minutes she was stalking towards him -- the next she was flowing like water, moving like shadows falling, seeming to cross all the distance in no time as her massive blade struck towards him with the screams of the damned howling in place of the wind whistling past it.

As light as it seemed in her hands, though, the blade had every ounce of weight a sword that massive ought to have behind the strike, though.

(OOC: Free from finals! How could Cole possibly beat her?)

Cole brought up the Amp to block the blade, but even blocking, he was thrown back a bit.

In other words bring out the big guns.

He just really hoped karma wouldn't get him for blasting a little girl.

"Sorry.", he said quietly...

And then unleashed an Ionic Storm right down upon her.

'Vadum vs. Bight/Crucible

One of the fights of the semi finals had drawn two particular fighters of the crew against one another, one bronze dragon in human form, chainmail shining and two handed sword in hand and pitted him against the eight foot tall armour clad Sangheili that was the current commander of the Transmigration 9.

Both combatants bowed heads to one another and exchanged greetings before promptly engaging in combat, Bight's two handed sword flashing to intercept 'Vadum's blades again and again, moving with speed far beyond a normal human. 'Vadum however kept up with Bight for a time, managing to get a few strikes in, though Bight's resistance absorbed much of the damage from the plasma blades. Bight in that time managed to down the Sangheili's shields his blows precise and aiming for weak points in the warrior's armour.

With the aid of magic Bight wore the Sangheili down, the fight lasted for some time however before Bight managed the final blow, the tip of his great sword at the base of the Sangheili's neck.
