Dust in the Wind [Open!]

|| Attention, crew, Attention. All personnel who wish to attend the funeral of Howard Bassem and Cedric Diggory, please report to the Observation Deck. ||

Once again, the Observation Deck is prepared for a sending-off of the dead. A hard pod containing Howard's body sits in the center of the room, with a much smaller pod containing Cedric's wand sitting beside it. The observation window is open, showing the attending crew a stunning view of a nearby fiery red star: the final resting place of the two fallen crew members.

Before the launch, though, there are goodbyes to be said.

Rarity blinked as she heard the request and slowly turned her head to face the girl. "Yellow was one of his favourite colours..."

She saw him flying numerous times before and could easily replicate his robes but she wasn't sure if she would end up a sobbing mess on the sewing table.

((OOC: Btw, I know our characters met on Mirage Universe but I think they've never met on Trans9 before. Should we continue with them already knowing each other or should there be introductions?))

"It was the colors of his House, Hufflepuff," she said, managing a smile. "He looked good in them. I'm sorry, I haven't properly intriduced myself. My name is Kaya."

Rarity inhaled a breath to compose herself. Even when she was depressed, it was still proper of her to act like a lady. "I'm Rarity," She replied as she extended a hoof for a shake.

"Nice to meet you," she said, offering a smile even though she didn't feel like smiling, through no fault of Rarity's. "We had a clothier before you, Rein. From what I hear, you're just as amazing."

"Thank you. Rein taught me a lot." Rarity replied, feeling that the small talk was making her feel slightly better.

[kaya_waterwave]

The small talk was what was making Kaya feel better too: she was feeling pretty horrible right now.

"You're from Applejack's world, aren't you?"

[whining_unicorn]

Rarity nodded. "I am her friend. I assume she has treated you to her apple goodies?"

[kaya_waterwave]

Kaya laughed. "Well yes, but I've also spoken with her once or twice. I have to say, I never expected a world of ponies with magic and speech to be possible, but I guess you think the same thing about us, don't you?"

[whining_unicorn]

"I never knew humans even existed. It was strange to see everyone on two legs. I was told that unicorns existed in Cedric's world but they didn't talk..."

With the mention of his name, she grew a little solemn again. Why did she have to say that?

Kaya chuckled. "See, exactly! It's one of the few things I really like about Stacy; we can see things from other worlds and dimensions we would never know about otherwise!"

At Cedric's mention, her smile wavered. "Yes, like Cedric. He was so....full of life, and really wanted to be at his best and take advantage of being alive. It's what makes this whole thing so unfair."

Rarity nodded sadly and sighed. "I guess... we'll keep his memory in our hearts forever and continue to live to protect the ones we care most about. I really want this Ohm battle to be over."

[kaya_waterwave]

Kaya narrowed her eyes. "You know what? You're right, Rarity. We do have to protect the people we care most about. And I'm going to make sure that I do my part too."

A plan was forming...she just needed to give it focus.

The determination in Kaya's eyes stirred something within Rarity and she now felt the urge to protect the rest of her pony friends as well. "I am able to perform magic if you need some help in that."

[kaya_waterwave]

"I'm not sure what I need yet," Kaya said quietly, "but I'm going to make sure that I do know soon. When that happens, I'll appreciate what you can help with. In the meantime, do you think you could recreate Cedric's Quidditch robes?"

[whining_unicorn]

"It will be my pleasure to help recreate his robes." Rarity smiled and bowed as gracefully as she could.

"Thank you," Kaya said gratefully, bowing her head. "It means a lot to me, and to him wherever he is."
