On one hand, Lina was considering that this was a big waste of time. Shouldn't they be chasing these Ohm things that everyone was worried about? On the other hand... This was a chance to get out some frustration that would work better than those sensoriums, and that was quite up her alley.

Plus, if she won, it'd do wonders for her reputation here!

Cole figured that the sooner he got himself mixed with the rest of the crew, the better. Plus, a tournament sounded like a great way to test out his powers in ways that he wasn't exactly used to... and a great way to let out some of the aggression over his world's destruction.

And here was Kaya, more than willing to check out her competition.

"Hi, I'm Kaya! I'll be in the tournament with you. So it looks like you just pod popped! What's your name?"

"Cole, and yeah, just got out a few days ago. Still sorta processing everything. Figure going on something like this will give me a more detailed idea of what I've gotten into."

Or something to test out his powers on... which had felt off since he got popped.

You had to be peppy if you were her: otherwise you might just be depressed more than you liked.

"I know, there must be a lot to take in. I'm a little surprised that one of the first things you would want to do is go into a tournament where you might get beaten up. I figured you might want to be on the ship awhile first."

Which made her REALLY curious about what he was able to do now.

OOC: To me at least, from what I read before signing up, you're one of the vets.

"I've done some exploring, met a few people. Figure if I go on one of these things, might figure out where I stand."

While his powers aren't at the height he last remembered, Cole is pretty damn capable, Kaya.

Kaya nodded. "I did do something like that when I was on the ship, but they weren't offering any adventures off ship at the mind. What exactly were you planning to find out? How you stack against other fighters on the ship?"

"Yep. I had to deal with crazy stuff before, and I figure the more experience I get with guys from other dimensions, the better I'll do with something I'm not used to."

Nearby, a man in a fedora crossed his arms and sighed. "Not an ideal way of doing things, but it beats outright attacking people after resources..."

Spotting Cole, he raised his head in a questioning manner - "You taking part?"

"Yep."

He noticed the fedora.

"Nice hat."

"Good luck, then. Don't know if we'll need it, but it never hurts to have it." He tips said hat just a bit with one finger, and smirks a little. "Thanks. Name's Hidari Shoutarou - haven't seen you around before. You new?"

"Cole McGrath, just got out a few days ago. Been exploring the ship a bit. And same for you."

Shoutarou nods. "Just be careful where you explore. We've had some people wind up lost for a little while thanks to explorations gone awry. They always come back, but probably not an experience one wants to partake of purposely."

Hit Girl looked at it this way: the Ohm was going to fight them eventually, and they had to be ready. Right now? They were so unprepared it wasn't funny. So as far as she was concerned, the more training the better.

She liked Lina though, so she wound up walking near her.

"That confident huh?"

"Definitely. I got enough pent up frustration, I might sweep the whole darn thing!" After all, it worked for her one attempt at tennisbrass rackets...

"Pent up frustration huh?" At this point, Lina, you definitely have touched off Hit Girl's teasing. "Isn't there another way to deal with frustration like that?"

Yup. This was not Mindy.

It takes a moment for what Hit Girl was getting at to register - Lina splutters, and her face goes beet-red. (What is it with purple-haired people managing to throw her off like this...?)

"N-Not THAT kind!"

"Hey, frustrations can be worked out in many ways," Hit Girl said, winking. "Still, there's something pretty cool about fighting those feelings out. What do you figure will be your strategy?"

Hit girl smiled slightly to herself. Still got it.

Speaking of purple haired trolls...well, a particular Jägermonster couldn't help but overhear a certain exchange. He leaned in, all sharp-toothed smiles, between the two ladies.

"Hyu know, Hy can help hyu mit hyu frustrations, Mizz Lina." Maxim blew her a kiss, gave Hit Girl a wink, and turned back to the wolf-woman he'd been speaking to without an obvious care in the world.

"Same as most anything - blast 'em until they stop movin--" Lina's cut off by Maxim's appearance - her face shoots red again, but this time, there's a good deal of anger in with the embarrassment. She wants to lash out, but she doesn't want Stacy wigging out either.

Maybe if she used something that wasn't obviously an attack spell...

"YOU WANNA HELP, HUH?! DIEM WING!" Lina's hands raise over her head, then are thrust forward, unleashing a strong, concentrated stream of wind at Maxim's back.

When Mark had found out that he was on this tournament, he had some mixed feelings regarding that. On the upside, he could actually do something, rather than sitting on the sidelines. However... this meant revealing what he was, and that he was a little afraid of. Trying to ignore these feelings, he decided to try to talk to a nearby person.

"Someone's confident. You ever do this sort of thing before?"

"Not quite something like this, but I've got more than enough experience taking folks down - figure I should put it to good use." 'Confident' was an understatement here - Lina's practically oozing ego.

"My fighting average has been sadly low. Hopefully, I won't get knocked out in the first round. That would be embarassing." Deciding to change the subject, he turned to Lina.

"I don't remember seeing you on the ship before. I'm Mark."

"Yeah, it would..."

She nods a bit in acknowledgement. "I just woke up recently - name's Lina - Lina Inverse."

"Heck yeah! Every summer since second grade!" Doc grinned, cracking his knuckles eagerly. He MIGHT have had weapons strapped to every exposed inch of him....

"I wish my mom was around to see this, she loves these kind of last-one-standing tournament schticks!"
