Who: Fuu and you!
Where: In the city, at the blind-spot Warehouse.
Summary: Fuu alternately distracts herself and thinks about things with the help of archery.
Warnings: Allenby made her a beam bow.that is not cheating
After the attack by SHODAN, Fuu had realized that she needed a weapon she could access if her magic was cut off, and one that would be capable of fighting enemies with sci-fi defenses. What she had been given by Miss Beardsley of Engineering was a "beam bow." It was a little unsettling to fire arrows that had no weight, but the draw and aiming of the bow were still similar enough that she had mostly adjusted, even if she still preferred the zip and thunk of physical arrows to the zing of the beam.
With some paint and brightly-colored electrical tape, she had set up a one-person archery range on the outside of a warehouse. She might have done this in the Sensoriums, but in light of recent events she wanted at least some time of privacy from Stacy... with Atom and Councilor Yunos now in the pods, along with a significant number of crew members who had been vocal in their opposition to the Daligig, Fuu wanted to be cautious.
And archery was good for thinking, or not thinking, at her leisure. She could concentrate on perfecting her aim to the exclusion of all other thoughts, or she could use it as a way to occupy her hands as her mind worked.
[ooc: For reference, the beam bow looks kind of like this. Just, y'know, not Gundam-sized.]

, if you still want him? if not I can swap in someone else.
"Now that's one I never considered."
Of course Cedric! :3
She smiled when she saw it was Cedric. "Considered what? Archery?"

She tilted the beam bow slightly, looking down at it. "This is my first time using a non-traditional bow, however. What sort of weapon do you think you might be suited for?"

He looked at Fuu's bow, still marveling at the display he'd seen. "How different is it from the traditional?"

She ran a hand over the angles of it. "The engineer who made it called it a 'beam bow.' It fires a form of particle energy rather than arrows. I don't suppose you're familiar with Gundam, are you?" It would make it slightly easier to explain.

"I'm afraid I'm not. I think it might be some sort of Muggle technology?"

She pulled at the thin wire of the bowstring, and a shaft of bright green light appeared where an arrow would normally be. "It can cut through many types of matter, including metal. So I think if we were in a situation where we had to fight robots or something similar, this would be quite effective."

"Are there other kinds of beam weapons? I could try the bow, but I'm not sure what else there is."

Cedric was rather tall and looked quite fit and strong, but as a mage he would probably feel more comfortable attacking from a distance. "Do you have any experience in archery?" she asked. "I could help you learn, if you like."

He'd just have to slog through a few failures at first.

She was sure that Cedric wouldn't be reckless, but the potential for disastrous accidents was too high for Fuu's liking. "We could practice with this type of bow in the Sensoriums, however. And I could show you how to use a normal bow as well."
