Even the Devil Wouldn't Recognize You [Closed]

With the information they received from Zetta, the hack team arrives at Programming, armed with the tools they'll need to make digital avatars of themselves to go into Stacy's programming, as if it were virtual reality. Cortana again reminds them of the danger, mentioning that if they die in this world, they will die in the real world as well, and that any injuries will translate, though more minorly, to their physical forms.

The hackers close their eyes and sink into the digital world. When they open their eyes again, they are inside the lobby of an empty hotel. According to the AIs, they must explore the hotel and find where the files are, which will hopefully manifest themselves as physical cabinets but are more likely to show up as something much more esoteric.

"Good luck," Cortana wishes them, and the hack team sets off and splits into groups.

"Sounds like a start." Angie smiled at Cassie, then started moving toward the door away from the Reaver. They really didn't want to get tangled with that while any death here would kill them in reality.

Cassie's first instinct was to grow. Unfortunately, powers didn't translate in the digital world. She swore.

She was in no shape for a fight- but that had been in the real world. Here she could stand a chance. On the other hand she really didn't want to find out what this digital Reaver had up its sleeve.

"Door." She said, making a break for it.

Angie swore, putting herself between Cassie and the Reaver. She had no idea if the armor would actually work here, but it was automatic. Normally, she would have had more protection than the girl. Here, though, was questionable.

"Right behind you," she told Cassie, not glancing over her shoulder. The door was in reach. They could make it.

Now that's incentive to work fast.

"Should we check these out? If one of them doesn't pan out and the Reaver follows us we can try tricking him in one and then locking him." Cassie said. Forgetting that she couldn't easily shrink out of the way to do that. She'd remember that in a bit.

Well, she wouldn't be the bait. Or, at least, Angie wouldn't likely allow her to be. "I think we should at least try one or two. Though figuring out the password is going to be...fun."

Still, wasn't that part of the whole thing?

"Better than the Reaver." Cassie said and picked the terminal closest to her. She wasn't the best hacker in the world- er, multiverse- but she was decent. Decent would have to do.

"Pretty sure anything is better than the Reaver," Angie replied, moving to a different terminal. "This would be so much easier if I were connected in normally." She studied the terminal, then started looking for ways into the terminal to bypass the passwords.

"And that's not what we're looking for. I think there Stacy would have more security around these files than a guest password." She paused. "And a Reaver if he counts. They must be further in."

"Really not," Angie agreed, stepping back. "Close your door. I don't think I want to see these things come after us if avoidable."

Especially if they don't have powers. Angie doubted her armor would do her much good here. "Further up and farther in, then."
