A Waffle with a Quaffle [Open, come play! Come spectate and chat!]

It's a beautiful day for soaring in the sky. At least....it's a beautiful simulated day, Cedric corrects himself. He stands in the center of a grassy field, hoops standing tall on either side. Racing brooms that will soon take to the sky with their riders are laid out in neat rows on either side of him, and a case containing the many balls of Quidditch rests at his feet.

He's exchanged the loose-fitted clothing he'd taken up after his injuries for loose-fitting yellow and black robes, and even that small change brightens his mood. Cedric Diggory is in his element. His cheerful, dangerous whirlwind of an element, the finest sport the wizarding world has to offer.

This should be a fun one to watch!

There was a little that Kaya knew about their world aside from what Cedric and Luna used to tell her about, but she could see that the man who was walking through the field obviously had history here. It was plainly written all over his face.

While she knew that there was likely little that she could say that would be of any comfort, especially knowing that Harry had been podded, she figured it was at least still a point she could her best food forward.

"Hi," she said, giving him a smile. "Are you going to show us the ropes today?"

Sirius nodded slowly, buying a little more time to regain control of his voice.

"I'll do what I can but you'll be better off learning from Cedric." He held out his hand. "I don't believe we've met. I'm Sirius Black."

"Oh, I've definitely learned a lot from him!" Kaya said. "I just figured you're probably a veteran when it comes to actually doing this on a broom!"

She shook her head. "No, but I have heard of you. I'm Kaya, of the northern water tribe. Pleased to meet you!"

"Heh," He smiled. "No, I didn't last a year on my house's team I wasn't half bad but I prefer motorcycles to brooms."

Motorcycles? That crazy vehicle that was like a bike but ran on a motor, like a car? Well Sirius could keep them: she was still easing herself into the idea of cars.

"All right then! But you've probably seen matches, right? Do you maybe have any pointers?"

[grimbiker]

"Don't piss off the beater." Sirius grinned. "Or, if you are the beater, don't get carried away. As for the rest of the advice it depends on what position you are. You haven't been on a broom before, have you?"

Kaya smiled back. "I'll keep that in mind, although I hope we get enough people to play in teams, it sounds really fun! Yes, Cedric showed me how to fly and everything. I'm apparently best suited to be a chaser!"

[grimbiker]

"Oh, it's loads of fun, even to watch. Hm, a Chaser? That was my best friend's position. I don't know if I could give you any advice. He was a natural. I never thought to question him." Though that hadn't stopped Sirius from screaming at him during matches when he thought his friend was making a mistake. It was all out of love, honest.

"I'm not the kind of person that could just stand by and watch something that fun happen and not be a part of it!" She said. "According to Cedric, I'm pretty good at the whole chaser thing! So I will fly my heart out today! I'm going to play to my best ability."

[grimbiker]

"Not everyone can make the team." Or stay on the team in his case. "But for now enjoy it. Flying is one of the best feelings in the world."

[kaya_waterwave]

Kaya laughed. "If that's the case, I'm going to have to try my best to make it in Cedric' eyes then. But trust me, I don't disagree with you. The only time I felt like I was flying was with an airbender."

[grimbiker]

"Airbender?" Sirius tilted his head to one side as he asked the question. "What's that?"

[kaya_waterwave]

"In my culture, certain people can bend the elements around them. They are born with the ability but how well these abilities are come about through hard work and training. An airbender is able to ride on air currents, so its the closest thing to flying!"

[grimbiker]

"Really? Can you- what do you call it? Bend?"

[kaya_waterwave]

Kaya nodded. "Yes, I guess I didn't mention it! I'm a waterbender, so that's the element I can use."

Seriously though. Not magic.

[grimbiker]

"You can only bend one element? Is it something you're born with?"

It didn't sound like magic but it certainly sounded interesting.

[kaya_waterwave]

Only one?

"Like I said, you might be born with it, but however much time you devote to knowing your abilities with determine how strong a bender you are. Wherever there's water, with the exception of in human beings, I can extract it and use it as an offensive or defensive way of fighting. I can heal with it too!"

[grimbiker]

"You can heal with water? How?" It was hard to detect, but Sirius was actually impressed.

[kaya_waterwave]

"It's not a skill all benders have, but some of us do, especially in the Northern Tribe. We are taught how to use our bending to redirect the chi in the body and heal wounds."

[grimbiker]

That sounded more like magic, actually.

"Do you go to a school where you learn how to control it?"

[kaya_waterwave]

"I learned it in my village, actually. In the Northern water Tribe, it is common for waterbending learned by women to be used for healing. In my time, I learned actually offensive fighting techniques from southern Waterbending master. That, you could say, I needed to be schooled in."

[grimbiker]

"Ah, I went to a school to learn how to use magic. That's why I ask. Is bending a common ability where you're from?"

[kaya_waterwave]

"I know, Cedric and Luna told me a lot about it. I think it sounded amazing! Bending is common, but not everyone can do it, and not everyone can do it well. Many of the nations have been split for so long that getting an actual good school with a decent teacher is impossible. Last I checked my world, those wounds were starting to heal."

[grimbiker]

Sirius nodded. "I wouldn't mind seeing you bend some time."

Like I wasn't going to chuckle when I read that! I'm lucky I wasn't drinking anything!

"You might sometime soon," Kaya said. "You never know what we'll run into next, after all."
