Agrestic might have had might farmer's market and produce that would rival the best farms,but for a wunderkind, this wasn't anything she might have really liked. Food? Pah! She was content with the slop and whatever she could pull off in the sensoriums. After taking a stop at the weapons, she was busy looking at all the boutiques and large items and see what she could barter off and find. There were ingredients to collect and rare crystals to find so she could build more things that could be helpful to the war and dangerous to their enemies.

Maybe she could make something like the Black Obelisks again...only this time with less energy draining of the area. She had a feeling Stacy wouldn't be too happy about something taking away from her own energy.

Maybe even a hot tub...look, she had super important priorities, okay. Priorities that included hot tubs.

"A bandana of infinite ammo," Mindy repeated. "Well why the hell cant we find a way to make something like that? There are plenty of magical people here on the ship, right? And we need to arm ourselves with everything we can to prepare for the war, right? Maybe it just takes getting someone with the right know how."

She would definitely be thinking about that now, and turned to look at the weapon. "I dunno, kinda unwieldy. The whole thing with swords are that they're quick, close ranged weapons and you'd need a gun long range. So it sorta fucks with the conveniences by having to learn a whole new way to fight with both on one plate. It might make more sense to have a hidden...OOH, are those grenades?!"

"I bet it's only a matter of time. Actually I should think about asking around," she replied, pondering out loud. Lash weren't you going to ask Mindo something, OH RIGHT the allure of the weapons was too strong.

"I bet they're thermal," she said, taking one and dangerously bouncing it up and down with one hand. "They explode on contact and unleash a deadly flammable gas that can easily burn the target. Nasty stuff."

"Yeah, why not? Totally ask around, I feel so stupid that i've only been asking around for food. Let's find out how powerful shit can be!"

She grinned. "Dude, YES. I need to totally buy this. Hell, I'll fucking by this for you and we can experiment and find out how much better we can make them."

Oh look, weirdly enough the thermal weapon was already in pieces when Mindy looked up, with Lash tapping at it, the seller looking surprised but unable to protest.

"Considering that he's got only a half heated thermal coil, it definitely got some improvements," she gave a tap at one of the parts, while the man ducked behind a desk. Nothing happened. "Huh. That's a new type of material..."

"You think?" Mindy was just glad nothing exploded when she tapped it like that: it was Lash, that had a tendency to happen. Then again, she was sort of an expert at this kind of thing, so she shouldn't have been so surprised.

"So at least its properly insulated," Mindy said thoughtfully. "Wonder how hard it would be to reproduce something like this on the ship."

"Yeah insulation's a good thing, but I'd need to break down the material to see what its made of." She took the shell and twirled it around, the salesman looking like he wanted to die -- or was afraid too.

"Pffft," she added. "Gimme a few weeks tops and I'd have a model ten times better! This stuff's small fry." She turned over and saw another store. "Come on. Let's go to that one and come back to this later."

"You'll have to show me how that is," Mindy said, who made it a note in her head to see how Lash made that kind of stuff: she WAS going to have to make some weapons for herself, eventually.

Mindy did goggle here. Was the reason she said that because something didn't explode? In any case, if there was more weapons to take a look at, she was there!

"Anything else in the gun department you can spot?"

"Hmmm," she began as they arrived at a new store. She peered at the counter until something did catch her eye.

"Hey! What about these? Recoil's gotta be a pain in the butt, mind you. This is why I stick to lasers and stuff. But it looks so...cute!"

Yes. Cute.

Double barrels. Nice. Mindy picked these up, testing the grip, spinning it with one hand and taking aim a moment. She smiled.

"It's good enough, yeah," she said, "but maybe i could give lasers a try. I've been looking for something with a little more oomph, minus the need for the bullets, you know?"

"Yeah. Bullets are great, but they can only do so much. Laser blasts hit harder and depending on the internal structure, can be recharge near instantaneously. At least, when I make them."

Of course Lash would brag.

"Man, there's so much I gotta learn when it comes to this newer tech," Mindy admitted, grinning. "Dad and I have gotten our hands on some ok shit, but you can only get so much on his salary, and in our world. So let's see...would something like that be all right?"

She would research this stuff into the night and until morning if she had to!

"That looks pretty good to gut out," Lash said with a nod. "Let's get that and then uh...maybe I should ask you a favor in exchange."

Oh right she had forgotten about that part. Perfect way to ease it in.

"Sweet," Mindy said eagerly, checking how the gun handled in her hand, spinning it and then taking aim. "I really should start practicing with this stuff!"

Oh, a favor? "A favor? Yeah, sure. What do you want?"

"Well uh...I need you to shoot someone for me. Not kill mind you, we need all the people on the ship and I couldn't do that to him anyway. It's just with a dart."

Shoot someone?! That was just about the last thing she expected to hear from Lash, who she figured was a really good shot. Of course, the answer was to be expected.

"Sure, I can shoot someone for you. Just name the time and place. And, you know, who, of course."

"Well first you have to promise not to tell anyone," she added, as she finished up with her purchases and began to walk out of the store. "I'm serious too! If Ruffnut finds out she'd tell everyone."

"Of course I can promise that, like you even need to say it!" Sheesh, it was HER, its not like she was talking to some stupid dogooder or a blabbermouth. "Like I would tell her. I love the girl, but she can be dumb as a rock on some things. I'm kinda curious to the why, though."

You'd understand all her fears soon enough, Mandy.

"Well uh. The target...it might be...."

Pause, pause, pause.

"...The Overlord."

Mindy blinked. Ok, now that was a new one, and a risky one. How the hell aws she supposed to land a hit on...

Oh. Ok.

"That'a a pretty hefty request. Why am I attacking my, you know, mentor or whatever?"

Keep in mind, she's not saying no.

"W-well," she began, unsure how to even say THIS properly. "The problem is he needs a medical shot, but I think we both know that he'd never say Yes to anything involving getting needles stuck in his book form."

Unless he knew exactly what this was for, Lash.

"I figured I could distract him one time and you shoot him, then I distract him again so much he forgets that he got shot. Easy come, easy go, you know?"

She thought seriously about this. She wasn't quite sure how things were with her and the overlord after interrupting the date (not that she couldn't understand) but she imagined he might be PRETTY ticked if he realized she shot him without his say so.

That would be stupid.

"I'll do it," she said, "if only because he sounds like he wouldn't get the shot in the first place. How do you plan to distract him?"

"Oh don't worry about that," she grinned, dismissing it with a hand movement. "I'll make sure he's properly distracted, I promise. Besides, he'll be in his book form."

Don't...don't think about it too much Mindy.

"He'll never find out it was you."

Oh don't worry about that Lash: Mindy had a fairly good idea how you'd be able to distract the Overlord, since he was pretty upfront about his vices.

That helped some, actually.

"I'm going to make doubly sure he doesn't," She said. "I'm still pissed about getting my ass beat by him. I don't care if I deserved it: I don't like losing."

"Yeah well next time neither of you will come in there eh?" Lash had been angry about it back then, but now she did think the entire incident had been funny.

"If I knew what was actually happening I wouldn't have bothered," Hit Girl said. "I'm not someone that goes around crashing dates. But once you see a 'Keep Out' sign, no explanation, you gotta investigate. Might as well have made a big red button with a 'DO NOT TOUCH' sigh next to it."
