Despite the uproar that had taken place only a day earlier, it was all quiet at the Susono Inn. Well... mostly quiet, anyway. It was home to some of the most stubborn crew members on the ship, almost all of whom had gotten involved in the brawl with the Kessek.

Allenby's arm had been broken. Simon had taken a hard one directly to the ribs. Zouichi would probably take a week to get back to real fighting form.

And Howard... well, it would probably take Howard a while to recover from what had happened.

Simon nods, then sighs, staring up at the ceiling. "I'll leave the plan-making to someone more suited for it. I'm more at home carrying stuff out than setting it up - or pulling stuff out of my ass when the situation calls for it."

"I think I know what you mean," Kaya said. "I've tried at leading myself, but I find I'm more efficient at being a part of the leg, or carrying out what I'm directed. It's sad, but it works for me, for now. When I get older and stronger, I think I'll be better suited to lead. Who knows? You might be too."

"I've done my share of leading, but... The way I did things at home isn't suited to this place. I can't just push and smash my way through problems, as you can see," he answers, gesturing to his torso. "It's like this universe plays by different rules or something. Things need to be thought through here rather than barging in."

Kaya nodded. "Actually, the fact that you actually know that lets me believe you have served as a leader before. There are quite a few people here who think being a leader means they can do just that. Things are much too complicated to simply just charge into action without thinking of the consequences. We have to take actions that are best both for the ship and the people in it."

"Heh..." He sighs, looking up at the ceiling. "I'd like to do that, to tell the truth. Sitting around and waiting drives me up the wall like crazy, but yeah - gotta think about everyone else." A pause. "Not gonna make the same mistake twice."

"The thinking helps to get us a better plan," Kaya said. "Granted, it helps we have so many varied and strong people on the ship, enough that we have a good start. But the best thing for us will be to find out what our enemies can do first. If they happen to pull out a secret weapon on us, we'll be caught with our pants down, much like what happens sometimes on the ship."
