Man, you look just like I feel [Open]
Despite the uproar that had taken place only a day earlier, it was all quiet at the Susono Inn. Well... mostly quiet, anyway. It was home to some of the most stubborn crew members on the ship, almost all of whom had gotten involved in the brawl with the Kessek.
Allenby's arm had been broken. Simon had taken a hard one directly to the ribs. Zouichi would probably take a week to get back to real fighting form.
And Howard... well, it would probably take Howard a while to recover from what had happened.

And despite how easily she'd been taken out, Allenby hadn't quite lost her sense of cocky rebelliousness. Hit Girl probably did have a point about getting themselves put under closer scrutiny, but Allenby didn't regret her actions. Yavek was an idiot. It was nice to see that Hit Girl didn't exactly seem eager to buckle under his rule. "Well, we'll just have to figure out a way to change out our authority figures," she said. "Zouichi got Yavek pretty good before Stacy stopped him, and there's enough smart guys around here to figure out a plan to give them the boot. Plus, there's a lot more of us." A similar smile appeared on her own face. "I never saw the point in worryin' about the opinions of authority either."

Hit Girl nodded. "That's the thing though: now Yavek knows we can be a problem, and if the punishment happened, it was to show us what happens if we toe the line. You have to look at it from their perspective: now they have to find another way to show they're in control. I'm not saying we should stop planning fighting them, but there's still stuff we have to do."

Unfortunately, though, what she said about Yavek was probably true. He'd lost control in a big way back there--what he'd meant to be a horror show to scare everyone back into their place would have been a complete riot if it hadn't been for Stacy's intervention. And the fact that Zouichi had nearly killed him probably'd make him that much more desperate. "Well, we got a nice list of blind spots, and Engineerin' is busy figuring things out. Dunno what all the other department are doing, though."

She looked a little solemn here, then shook her head. "Get an idea. I think you might want to make sure that you have an idea of what they can do. The blind spots, the talking...all pieces of a bigger puzzle."

A big puzzle, huh? Well, maybe. If this situation was a puzzle of any kind, it'd be a Rubiks Cube. A Rubiks Cube that tried to kill you. "That's the plan. I do know that psychic kid Raz wants to help. 'Course, half the department heads getting shoved back in the pods doesn't help, but that's just a temporary obstacle."

"Don't underestimate how spiteful I can be," she sad, "but you know, you have a point: who knows what would happen if that had that to us anyway. And I don't doubt that: you're one of the most bad ass girls on the ship, and its always cool to be in that kind of company."
She nodded. "Yeah, I heard about that, with the pods thing. So I wanna see if I can do my part, behind the scenes. People already think I support the bastard Daligig staying here, so i wanna keep it that way."
Hit Girl blinked. "Wait, who's Raz?"
