Freedom's Apparently All I Need [Semi-Open, Bendytimed to End of Shore Leave]
He's got his passport.
He's also got a fake birth certificate, a fake ID card, a fake driver's license and insurance card, and hopes for a brand new life. And he has the same for Orc. That and a suitcase for each of them.
He has to leave the cats. That is, he thinks, the only downfall to the planet. You can't import live things, and he doesn't know how to smuggle them in, so he's going to entrust them to Cedric. Between that and the food stash, the knowledge that he's leaving things behind, things that he'll never get back, hangs heavy on his mind.
He's leaving people behind too. He can't forget that. He wanders through the streets of Agrestic with his new papers and his suitcase looking for the people he wants to say goodbye to before he and Orc escape this war forever. He's not even thinking about what he's going to say to them, hoping that somehow the magic words will appear on his tongue. But he has to say goodbye before he goes.
Away from the Daligig. Away from Stacy. Away from missions and more importantly, away from the threat of the FAYZ. Scared and sad as he is, there is a little skip in his step.
[OOC: he's looking for his closer CR, so new people may approach him but he'll probably brush them off. If your character hasn't met Howard and would like to thread with me drop me a line and I'll set up something new!]

He looks back up at Howard, wishing for a way to keep him here. It's going to be awfully lonely without him.
"I should be telling you that. I might survive...without being picked off now."

"I want to make sure you have what you need. I mean, people like Karis and Zou, they're okay on their own. But...I want you to have everything in the Warehouse basement. Just in case."
Ced has now inherited a hoard. There's plenty of useful stuff in there if he ever checks it out, but there's also stacks of phonebooks and toilet paper rolls and cans of shaving cream as a testament to Howard's overpowering neuroses.

Cedric bites his lip again. This is painfully awkward, on top of being sad. But he's touched---it does help, it really does.
"I'll fill it with cat food first. So..."
He thinks long and hard about what to say. He wants to yell, wants to be sad, but this is a time when Howard will want a nice goodbye. He takes a deep breath and looks at his friend, probably for the last time.
"I wish I could convince you to stay." But I won't, he thinks sadly. "Just...live a long life out there, okay? We'll try to make the multiverse safe as soon as possible."

It's simultaneously a plea and an accusation. One last chance, Ced.
"Come find me someday, okay?"

It's foolish, it's reckless, but he's never been one to turn away from danger. He holds out his hand, half in a wave and half in an offered handshake. He doesn't know quite what to do.
"Count on it. With the Muggle technology we'll get, a way is bound to show itself."

"I guess I should get the rest of my things now."

Cedric finds himself turning away. It's even harder not to cry than he'd first thought. No---he can't. It won't be goodbye forever, no matter how much it sounds like that.
no subject
"Bye, Ced. Just...goodbye, I guess."

It takes all of Cedric's willpower to simply walk away. He wants to turn back, he wants to run, wants to steal Howard and not let go---because he can't try to protect him now. What if out there is worse than Stacy?
It's out of his hands now. He bows his head as he walks away. I'm sorry, Howard.
