Weeks of searching, more weeks of life on Stacy, and Zuko still hadn't found who he was looking for.
He was getting plenty sick of tunnel-crawling, too, and closer to a Punishment than was probably smart. And he hated to think of how much time "missions" were going to take away from his search . . . but whether he lacked time or not, he still needed to train.
The scarred prince ran through his katas in the Sensoriums, a breeze cooling the sweat on his back and blowing away the heat from his flames as he practiced in an open-air dojo. They were basic katas. His uncle would have been proud -
Except, no. He really wouldn't. Zuko faltered in his stance, remembering the last time he'd seen his uncle - the dim prison, the quiet disapproval in his voice, and Zuko's fireblast went wide as he stumbled.
Shit. At least nobody was there to see, right . . .?

He hates to admit that his bending has been worse as of late, but truth be told . . . Zuko is feeling the lack of a sun.
"This was my uncle's estate. The outdoor dojo."
He has much better memories of here than of the dojo in the palace.
"The only beach nearby is the one on the royal harbor. It's not much of a vacation beach." Zuko pauses, considering how much of his country he wants to share with this guy, and whether or not he actually wants to go to -
"There's always Ember Island."

Apparently, he loves the beach. (He really does, though).

"I was in the middle of something. I don't feel like going to the beach."

"Considering that you weren't advertised as fun, that's not much fun at all."
no subject
No one has ever, in Zuko's life, described him as 'fun.'

"I bet you could be fun. You'd just have to to unlock your inner fun person. Embrace the good times, my friend. Engage in some activities that could possibly be called 'shenanigans.' That's all you'd have to do."

"I can see you're going to be a very difficult case for my fun facilitation engineering skills," Kon says, mock seriously.

It might be the wrong thing to say to someone like Kon - who already reminds Zuko WAY too much of an even MORE annoying Aang - but dammit, he DOESN'T do fun! There's too much stuff to do.

"Why not?"

He pauses.
"Besides, since when has fun been a waste of time? That's the great thing about it--you can squeeze it in anywhere."

Apart from Mai, who's not from far enough in the future to know that they win.

Duh, Zuko. Don't you know anything about time travel?

". . . I'm going to go back to training now."
no subject
Clearly, this means he's an idiot with no sense of when's a good time.

"So is the fire powered by the kung fu?"
