Burn Brightly

Sherry had never liked feeling hurt. Not the physical pain, but rather the emotional setback of losing a friend. With Vega gone again, she had made sure she didn't cry. In fact, she'd hardly publicly moped.

Someday, just like that, he'd come back. And maybe she'd be a little order and even taller than her friend, but... but he'd be back. With a little sigh, far too old for someone her age, Sherry looked back and forth between her homework and the Bleed on a fatty-couch on the Observation Deck. The complex work wasn't hard for her, not really, but what did they expect when she preferred to stay out of sight? Sticking just out of her blue bag, was an old, odd-looking book, hidden behind her legs.

"Mom's going to run out of material for me to learn, at this rate." She yawned and rubbed her eyes, turning her attention back to the Bleed for a moment.

"Are you doing homework?"

The sound of disbelief came from the short ten year old, not a few feet away looking at her strangely. "Why do you want to do homework when we're on a super awesome space ship?"

"It's not like teachers won't excuse you from work for space alien invasion and universal excursion or whatever," Raz commented, waving a hand dismissively and not even getting what the big deal was. Because seriously what was the big deal.

"And to reiterate: Super awesome space ship. Way cooler than homework."

Ahri had been here before, but didn't think much of it. There wasn't much to do, but every now and then there was someone interesting to look at. This time, she was met with a girl, someone she hadn't met before and someone who she hadn't expected would be involved in all of this.

She quietly made her way to the area, her footsteps inaudible and her presence masked, she finally made it clear that she was approaching by making a little musical sound with a bell she had found earlier, striding over to sit across from the girl and offering her a friendly wave.

She could feel the girl was distressed and she didn't want to add to it, or make her feel uncomfortable.

"Kind of a quiet place for someone to hang out alone... then again, it can be peaceful I guess. It just seems like a rather dreary place." she replied before looking over what she was doing curiously.

"So what are you up to?"

Distractions were never fun when one had to focus, and Dhianeila not only knew that feeling too well, but found herself a little more sensitive to those who were feeling that way.

The Obs Deck was one of the spots that could potentially get many visitors, so the blonde opted to pay a visit as she usually did - via projection.

"It's very fascinating, isn't it?" she asked the girl, looking out into the Bleed as well.

"I suppose I'm used to travel like this," she responded with a nod. "Although, before awakening here, I hadn't yet gotten the chance to travel between universes." Though others had-- she could have, technically. But humanity itself wasn't ready for it quite yet.

"It's certainly something to get used to."
dhianeila: (just here)

Oh, arguing. There were so many reasons and explanations for that. But instead of trying to play teacher, Dhianeila smiled down at her. "Have you? What do you think the reasons are?"
