I don't know what you're going to do, but I have work to do.
People dealt with things in different ways. In Mindy's case, she had continued severing people in the cafe. The hours were rough, her sleep patterns shifted, and she had told herself to take it easy after the ejecting from the Sensoriums by Overlord Zetta. Much like a bartender though, working in the kitchens meant hearing people's conversations, and that led to the topic most people were talking about: the Daligig, the former crew and the inevitable fight for the ship. This wasn't just gossip: it was legit information, and while she could skim over Howard's really long summary, it was Allenby's that hit home. Sure, she had that dumb phobia about tech that was irritating, but she was truthful.
And that meant training time had to happen. NOW.
She didn't waste any time either. Quick to the Sensoriums, Hit Girl costume on and the simulation began ten minutes after intense push ups, stretching and a little running.
She learned something in the past few weeks: the only way to really train yourself was to push, and that push had to keep going and going and make you better. So now she was back again against the Daleks, testing her ability to dodge and run and make things fall on them. Then came that duel with Aqua, where she got much, MUCH better with a blade. Then she was back to attacking SAINTS and the hark robots, making sure there were twice as many.
But the grand finale? Shadow Zetta, unstoppable, merciless, and constantly coming at her. Even in the aftermath of broken robots and a beaten Aqua, she couldn't come close to landing a hit on shadow Zetta that mattered. Yet here she was, going at it again and again, and somehow, the audience were smug looking members of the Daligig, looking like Ceasars at a lion feeding.

Crap, her dad had definitely NOT had the talk about this, despite all the things she HAD to deal with. she could joke about sex enough and shit, but she never thought even thinking about it was going to happen...like, ever.
"Dude, its ok, its me. You can say whatever you're thinking."

The rules of what is and isn't ok by her cultures standards had pretty much died off with the exception of Hiccup and Astrid.

She was blushing a little, but trying to look determined nevertheless. "I mean, you're older than me, it was bound to happen."

"But what about...you know..." she jerked a thumb up to indicated the all seeing eyes of Stacy. Apparently Ruffnut was concerned it violated some kind of rule and she didn't want to get Mindy in trouble. Then again Ruffnut had never looked too closely at the official rules for day to day life on Stacy sso how would she know ootherwise?

"Those rules don't apply in the city," she said, not making eye contact. "I looked into it. Stacy has no jurisdiction. That's why people fight there too. So, you know, if we wanted to, we could."

Back home it would only be a couple more years before she was expected to find a worthy man and begin a life together. Some Women didn't right away, many waited till they found the right warrior worthy of their affections.
But Ruff had already found a warrior like that. And had a home that they shared. This was the next step wasn't it?
"Do you um...do you want to?" She asked carefully betraying herself.

But she also saw that she was watching her, seeing what she thought, and that meant a lot to her. She knew enough from TV and real life heteros usually jumped into that kinda shit, and it was reduced to these weird, stupid kinds of crap like pregnancy and diseases.
"Ruff, as old as I seem, I'm still, like, a kid," she said. "Would you really want to go that far? I mean, you're older, even girls that like girls want one with...stuff, you know?"
no subject
But then Mindy explained and that made ruff switch gears. "Stuff? Who cares about stuff?" She protested and met Mindy's eyes with the same reckless honesty she always had "The only stuff I care about is what makes you...you. That's what I l-love." She stumbled on the word but still meant it.

But she trusted her, and more importantly? There was nothing rushed with Ruff, not ever. When she fought, she did it recklessly, but when it was with Mindy, she took her time, she was sincere. And Mindy grabbed her hands. turning red.
"God, shut the fuck up. You always know what to say. And...well, I thought about it too."
no subject
"A-and what did you think about?" She asked trying not to sound too desperately eager.
no subject
But that didn't have to happen. Now she could breathe a sigh of relief, she could still be with her.
"I think," Hit Girl said, "that whatever we're ready for, we can do. We don't have to get those fucking injections, since neither of us has a disease and aren't going to have a kid, so...yeah.. Maybe I'm growing up faster than I thought."
no subject
"Well ok then...heh...c-cool." She shuffled not entirely sure what to do next. Drag her off to the castle? Another scuffle? Some teasing seemed apropriate.
"Heh...you were worried." She prodded Mindy in the side "As if you have ANYTHING to worry about! Where I come from guys would be fighting every day just to get your attention."
no subject
Oh Ruffnut. You could probably figure that part out by now. The two of you were at your best when you employed brute, irate force.
"Then I'm glad I lived in New York," she said. "I don't need to have a bunch of guys hanging around me. I just want the one, and they have to be just as much a bad ass."
no subject
Maybe she didn't know exactly what she was going to do with Mindy when they got back to the tower, but finding out would be the fun part.
no subject
You didn't overrule Mindy THAT easily.
